Can you include me too please? Jan 11 - 15 at the Pop. It's my first Disney marathon weekend, first onsite stay, first trip without kids. Lots of firsts!
If your DISMeet happens to fall on Jan 14 I would love to join in and say hello!
I'm with you. I'm only taking my daughter out of school for 2 days so hopefully they don't give us a hard time. She hardly ever misses school and we aren't taking her out for any other trips during the school year.
I didn't even think about that!!!!
Oh well, I'll just have to start planning a summer trip as well.![]()

yes this will be the first trip with my children and their grandparents. We went a lot when I was a kid with my parents and my grandmother.
My advice to you would be to preorder the photopass CD. We took both grandparents and my sister in Novembe 2010 to celebrate DD 5th birthday. Between all of us, 9 in our party, the CD was awesome and something we all have to remember our trip together. Enjoy your trip with the extended family and your children!!
Thanks for the suggestion about Photopass. we generally take our own pics, we have five or six cameras between us all and have not been disappointed with the results! I also have the kids journal about their days, I do the same thing, so that we can match up the really important pics to what happened in them.
Part of the fun is making our own scrapbooks, picking out the paper and the frames etc. the actual trip may only be a week, but we can stretch the memories for months LOL.
Does anyone know how full the parks are from holiday crowds after New Years and for how long it stays busy? I know a lot of people are still off for the holidays at this point. The only time I have ever been to Disney was in Jan of 2007 but it was at the end of the month and there was no wait for rides, ADR's or anything. One of the main reasons I wanted to do another Jan trip.
Yep, with a large group, getting the photopass is a lot of fun ... and you can get some great photos with everyone in it! Then make a digital photobook for everyone so they can relive the trip again and again!
Great memories and great keepsake!!![]()
The best tip I picked up before we went two years ago was to hand the photopass photogs YOUR camera. They were all happy to take the group shots for us, and it was much easier to have the images on my memory card than to keep track of the photopass. (IMO anyway.)![]()
JAN 26TH - FEB 1RST OR 2ND FOR US, first time since 1999 with just hubby and kidlets
We decided to change our dates!!The date we had planned for originally would have had our kids out of school more than we would like so lucky for us, (and by us I mean mostly me
lol) we moved it up! New dates are
Arrive Jan. 2
Depart Jan. 8

Oh, we do that too! We figure we have a back up that way -- my camera and Disneys. We just really like the borders we can add to our photos to make them Disney special.
But we have also had issues with our cameras -- batteries die, settings got stuck, forgot camera at hotel, etc. So we learned our lessons to do PP!![]()
Ditto to the borders not to mention the magic shots from PP. We also found it so nice to enjoy every moment instead of worrying about the camera. We all got to be in the pictures everytime instead of taking turns. We will probably do PP again for our January Trip. Can you still prepurchase the CD for $99?
Yay! Thats just perfect. Our first day in the park will actually be the 3rd. Driving with all 4 kiddos, mama needs a break before the park.I planned on checking in, unpacking a bit, walking around the resort and getting familiar with routes, and eating dinner at a different resort. Then, the next morning
( 1/3) arrive for RD and get our fastpasses and enjoy the awesomeness that is Disney World!
