Really, the marathon is later this year? I thought for sure it would be going on during our stay the weekend of January 5-6. I sure hope that means really light crowds then for our trip.

ok we have booked room only in the hopes of free dining. Now to think about ADR's and what our family is going to do about eating together or not.

Me too...officially booked room only for our trip last night. Although I cheated a little! We are planning on a split stay between POR/AKL CL from 01/26 - 02/04 so I booked the whole trip at AKL to spare myself the two room rate deposits! Also did AKL CL so I could book Sunrise Safari when my window opens. Figure once packages are released, I'll play around with the numbers and call back and get 2 ressies. Right now, the price tag for 9 nights CL is scaring me! lol

Super excited...it feels more official now.

Hi...I have already booked our flight. Delta airlines (although I love Jet Blue, they were higher priced) For 3 R/T from NY $706 Can't wait for hours to be available as well & cannot wait to book ADR's

That is an awesome rate, are you flying direct? Rates out of Pittsburgh are still to high for me to book.

We'll be there January 9th thru the 20th staying at POR! We were there January 2010 and it was 34 degrees when we landed in Orlando! It was warmer back home...in Wisconsin! Hopefully it will be warmer on this trip!

I went this year in late January and it was 75-82 degrees each day! We were totally spoiled and wore shorts/t-shirts each day!

Yep, they moved the Marathon back a week for 2013. Messed with everyone's plans!

yay!! I was just asking my family yesterday about ADRs. I really want to try a bunch of new places this time. We are about 15 restaurants away from saying we've eaten at them all!

Yeah, I bet that price for 9 nights is scary. I usually stay DVC so am not up on the current prices. So for part of this January trip, we ran out of points and need to stay 4 nights on cash. I'd love to try AoA but that price scares me too.

Somehow it's just seems so much cheaper when using points!

Awesome price!! My flight for 2 in July was over $800!! Wish they had specials around here.

That actually helps with our plans. I wonder how bare the parks will be the first week in January now without the Maraton? At least that is what I am hoping for since we will be there January 1-8, we added an extra day if our waitlist comes through for January 1st. I know it will still be busy for the holidays but we figured it could be a pool day since my DD is out of school that day and I am off from work, why not start our trip early.

Planning on reading all the posts later tonight, but I wanted to go ahead and add myself the group. We are booked right now for 12/30/12-01/06/13, but I am thinking of changing our dates to 01/02/13-01/08/13, hoping to get FD then. This is my families 2nd trip to Disney and this one is a suprise trip that we are going to tell our kids about on Christmas morning. My husband doesn't want to tell them until the morning we leave, but I think the countdown is half the fun.
I already have most of my kids shirts made, their bags made, water bottles made, and snack containers made. I still need to get some pj's, autograph books made, and dresses for the BBB. We are staying at the AOA in the little mermaid room and I'm going to have them welcome bags from Ariel when we get there, with all sorts of Little Mermaid treats and goodies.
I am so glad I found this board! Our Disney trip is about all I can think of.

We did a surprise trip last year and it was so fun when we told the kids. We also told them on Christmas morning, but didn't leave for another three weeks. They got the best of both worlds, a surprise and a countdown!
