BTW, I just read your trip report from last year's 1/2 - great job! and I have no clue how you are being (a) a physician; (b) mother of three; and (c) full marathon. I'm an attorney with one kid and feel like I'm barely hanging on by my fingernails - kudos to you!
Sorry if this has been asked before, but...
1) How many people are in each corral roughly?
2) How long does it take each corral to be released?
3) DH and I are new runners. When I signed us up, DH's expected finish time was 2:15 and mine was 3:00. We intended to do a 10K in the fall to get proof of time for him, but we had to cancel. Since he has no proof of time, he has been placed way at the back (his bib number is in the 50,000s while mine is in the 41,000s). We want to start together, but we are both running way under our original estimates and would rather not start with the walkers.
So, for the actual question: How difficult will it be to get him moved up into the 3:00 corral with me at the expo?
You won't be able to move him up without a proof of time, I don't think, unless someone takes pity on you.
All we have is a 5K proof of time, so I guess we'll bring that and hope for some pity.![]()
I also need injury advice. My left calf has been troubling me since my 20 miler a few weeks ago. At that point it just felt tight. I cut back on my running. 2 weeks later I did 15 miles. Around mile 8 the calf felt tight again. By mile 9 it was hurting. I took longer walk breaks and cut the distance to 15 miles. I took another easy week. Stupidly on Thursday and did a race pace run/walk. The first 20 min were great and then the calf started hurting. On Saturday I walked 6 miles and the calf was bothering me all day. Today it just feels tight but doesn't hurt.
Do I quit all running until race day? Take it easy all week and try to walk a few miles next weekend? This is my 1st marathon so I'm nervous about finishing. I'm a Galloway girl so I do run/walk anyway. Even at its worst, I definitely could have run thru the pain (say on race day) but obviously that would be foolish at this point....
Thanks! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!!M

I was confused because you said you had no proof of time![]()
The Run Disney site said they will only accept proof of time from 10K or higher. I figured they would't use our 5K times, so I never submitted them.
Has anyone gotten 5K times accepted?
Thanks for the info everyone.
You are correct, a 5k time is not going to be accepted.
Just move back to his spot, move to the very front of your corral, and stay course center in single file for the first 1.5 miles. You will find it not so crowded there. Once over the overpass move course left as the course bends right... you will then be the first to see the course open up wide once out of the turn
Thanks coach!
