The price I got through the link provided when I registered was something like $70-&90 a ticket less. That was for a 6 day park hopper and not a 7 day base though. We figured for my party of 3, the ticket savings was enough to pay for my race and commemorative pin, the other 2 after party tickets and still have some left over.

I am super excited for this race! I just completed the Princess last week, and it was AMAZING!!! I had a great time even though I was injured and walked more than ran the last 4 miles. So DH came as my spectator, and has become inspired to run! It's awesome! He wants to do the tot 10 miler! Silly man thinks 10 is really much different than 13.1 heeheehee. I could barely get him to run around the lake at Coronado last June, now he wants to enter a 10 mile race! Woohoo! I will say cheering on a marathon (or half) is extremely inspiring, so I get it!

Maybe I need to check again -- I haven't registered yet so can't look for myself. Someone told me that the ticket savings were better than free dining --can't imagine -- but will keep digging to get the best deal

I'm thinking of signing up for this race since I'll be there that weekend for free dining. Would definitely dress up as well. I would love a glow in the dark costume. Was thinking of purple/black or orange/black color combos sine I'll likely wear the same costume to MNSSHP. Are people planningon dressing up for this event?

A glow in the dark costume for this run would be phenomenal! I wonder too how many will dress up and to what extent. I have seen other WDW races on YouTube and it seems that there is minimal dressing up, but would a ToT race warrant more?

I think it all depends upon the race. For the Chip & Dale Marathon Relay this year, I would agree. Minimal costuming. Conversely, for the Tinkerbell, there were throngs of costumed racers (myself included). I think it has to do with whether the theme lends itself to a costume you can run in as well as the distance.

If you are thinking about costuming, be wary of the temperature. End of September isn't always cool.

The temperature is what I thought about too. I have been to WDW IN Seltember and October and have been super hot in both. We got married there in late August in the morning and it was swtering! I even thought just a hat would be too hot. I think something g creative with glow in the dark on running clothes would be fun though!

Floridian here - Sept./early Oct. is still summer down here! Central FL does cool down a bit overnight that time of year, but not by much and it'll still be very humid.

I think something g creative with glow in the dark on running clothes would be fun though!

For this race and Expedition Everest they're trying something new and discounting the Disney Dining plans at a discounted rate. Quick Dining (2 quick meals and a snack) is $38 per night per adult. Disney Dining (1 snack, 1 table service meal, 2 quick meals) is $52. Park tickets are also 'deeply discounted' at 50% although I didn't get exact amounts.

Thanks for the information. Although the dining plan cost you listed doesn't sound discounted at all.

The regular Disney Dining plan only includes 1 snack, 1 table service, and 1 counter service. If this is a special plan just for the races and they have added on an extra counter service meal, then it would be a good deal.

Awesome job, nice run!! That's about my goal too. I've never run a race before (but will have by the time sept. rolls around) but so far I did 11 miles at 9:16 pace, and 6.2 miles at 8:39 pace, so I'm thinking it's totally doable!!

I so want to do this race. I have been wanting to do a Disney race for years. I was gonna train for the Princess until I tore my gastrocnemius ( muscle in my calf) I have 2 more ( I hope) weeks in the aircast ( 3 weeks crutches 4 weeks air cast so far ) and then just finish PT to get my leg back where it needs to be so I am in a holding pattern but I think I want to attempt it.I am going to start walking just as soon as I can and see how it feels. I am trying to talk my DS,DSIL and DDIL to join me.

I have free dining booked from last years bounceback offer. However, my sister and I are trying to get there as cheap as possible. So, a room only offer may be better. If available, I would like to do MNSSHP. Opinions please. I was thinking of costumes along the lines of a hotel guest. I know it will be mid to upper 70's in the evening.

I've been there in late August and it can be upper 70's at night. That's after the temperature has been in the 90's during the day.

Yup. I live about 2 hours from WDW, on FL's Gulf coast and late Sept. is still HOT and very, very humid. The upside of the start being so late is that there should be a good late-afternoon/early evening thunderstorm in there to cool down the pavement some (pavement will hold the day's heat for many hours after dark.) The downside is that no place in Central FL holds onto moisture like AK, lol! Expect it to be plenty warm and damp and be happy if we have a freakishly dry early fall instead.

When I picked up my sports-discount tickets, I was told that they do not let you modify them at all. I wanted to apply the cost of mine to an AP, since I had finally admitted that I was a RunDisney addict and that would be most cost effective.

If you hear anything different, please share... I know sometimes the CM's are confused but this guy was adamant that bcs they are such a great deal (which they are!) that they were completely un-changeable.
