Hi. As soon as you are officially registered they will send you the codes and information for hotel and tickets. It will be in your confirmation email.

I think I understood your question. If not my apologies :)
Thanks

My husband and I are doing this as our first Disney race. We are so excited and although we are pretty WDW savvy, this race has me feeling anxious. I hope I can get tons of information before this race. :)

Who is planning to do both 5k and 10 miler? Am I crazy to think about it? I'll be training for the Jan full but I also have a local half the weekend after ToT.

I signed up for both last night! I am super excited!

I'm really looking forward to ToT, but can't seem to get back in the groove after Tink...I have a 5k coming up this weekend that I registered for on a whim, since it's right in my community anyway. There's a full and a half at this event too, but even the 5k-ers get a medal...hoping that will put me back on track. I went out for a nice bike ride yesterday and am a little sore today though...I really need to get back in the swing of things. I have a rather hilly 10k coming up in April. :scared1:

On a brighter note...confirmed a non-running-related 5 night trip to WDW first week of May last week!!! It seems like all my trips to the World or the Land nowadays are planned around races, so this will be a nice break from that!

i am excited to be doing another disney run. I think they are awesome.

A question though I have had since I herd about the ToT run and the bash afterwards. What do you do with sweaty running clothes for the party? I have not done a run with a party afterwards.

Do you pack a change of clothes and change between the race and bash?

What are others doing?

Bryan

I took a change of clothes in my checked bag for the W&D, but ended up not using them. They did provide changing tents at the finish line area, but not sure if they will for ToT...I don't remember reading anything about that yet. We decided just to go into the park to get our medals engraved and then leave after the W&D, so we didn't bother changing. From what I remember, most people still looked to be in their running gear...maybe just threw on a hoodie or something because it was a tiny bit chilly. We'll probably bring a clean shirt and shorts again this time in case we decide to stay a bit longer. I think if you didn't want to deal with checking a bag or changing, you wouldn't be out of place...but maybe a little smelly

Bryan - if you do pack a change of clothes it's a smart idea to include some baby wipes or body wipes and take what I've heard other runners call a 'chemical shower'. It doesn't get you squeaky clean but it does make you more comfortable.

Just wanted to say that I'm officially signed up for the race now. Took care of that at the Princess Expo. :)

Now to get my DD signed up for the kids races and my DH for the 5K. :)

What was the Expo discount for the ToT 10-miler? Was there a discount for the 5k? (Guessing not or you would have registered your DH.) I was thinking about waiting until the EEC Expo to sign up at a discount, but now it doesn't seem like it's worth waiting since the price increases by $15 at the end of March.

I asked at the Expo this past weekend if there was a discount for the ToT 10 miler and they said "no". It's the same fees as online the only thing extra that they would give was a disney recyclable shopping bag. So I decided to register at home. My husband and I are in for this race :cool1:

I did the same thing. Glad I asked because the line was sooo long to register for upcoming races at the Expo. I had better things to do with 20mins than stand in line for a 'free' plastic mickey bag! :goodvibes

My DH and I will be running too. Can't wait to get training with him-I'm ready to kick his butt! :rotfl:

I'll third it - same here. I waited for the Expo to see if registering there might avoid the Active.com fee, but no dice. Registered yesterday from home, though.

Who are the first time runners signed up for this race? It will be my first race over 5K (I will probably do at least 1 10k before then). I've been at this for 4 months now, and I'm FINALLY starting to consistently be under 16 minutes per mile for training runs. That was the main thing that concerned me, but it looks like I'm going to be able to do this. Now I have my sights set on 12 minute miles for the race. Is it reasonable to think I can take 4 minutes off my average mile pace by then?

It'll be my second run disney event (first was the Royal Family 5K) and first at this distance. I also plan to do a couple of 5K thru out the year and I'm following Jeff Galloway's training program that starts May 29th for this particular race.
I'm also doing it with my husband. He has played soccer all his life and went on a "training" run this past Monday to see where his pace was. He finished the 10 miles in 1:55min...I don't think he needs that much training ;) He is trying to convince me that he'll stay with me the entire race, but I want him to do his own pace and I'll be fine being the slow poke.

This is going to be my first Disney race!!! Woot, so excited! I am so far registered for a 5K in April (will be my first race ever) and a 10K in May.

Now, I don't really know what your fitness level is, but as a fairly new runner I'll just share what my progression has been. I started running around Octoberish of 2011, so somewhere around 4-5 months of running. My first run was 4 miles in 47 minutes (avg pace 11:15/mile). Currently, my personal bests are:
-longest outdoor run - 10 miles: 1 hour 35 minutes (avg pace 9:30/mile)
-fastest outdoor 5K (not a race) - approx. 28 min
-fastest treadmill 5K - 25 min 25 sec
-longest treadmill run - 12 miles: 1 hour 53 min (avg pace 9:23/mile)

I've just recently started doing track workouts (speed repeats) as I'm trying to increase my pace even more!

So, I'd definitely say it's totally doable! Just keep at it, don't give up, and prepare to sweat a little, lol!
