**Official Frozen Sing-Along, Oaken's, Holiday Premium Package Tips, updated 1/5/15

The Osborne lights turn on at 6pm, sometimes a couple of minutes before or after

I haven't seen the turning on in years since ds can't handle all the blinking lights. Do they still have a platform and a giant light switch? Didn't Mickey throw the switch?

Thanks for all of your updates! :thumbsup2 Also, I've called over the last week to check on the Osborne Lights & Frozen Holiday Package. Dining CMs insist if you enter @ 6pm you can see the Osborne lighting for the night.

All guests who are in the Streets of America area at the time yulilin stated, 6:00-ish, will be able to view the lighting of the Osborne Lights. You don't need the Premium Package to do so. Just plan on being in the area around 5:45 and you should be fine. You can do your Package Dessert at your designated time which is after the Lights have been turned on.

We didn't see a platform or Mickey last year and we were in the main area of the Streets. Santa Goofy is in the area but I don't think he was part of the Lighting. Others have reported that a guest is chosen to flip the switch. It's so very crowded you can't see much except the buildings and then Lights.

Thanks. As I said it had been years. We walk through the lights as fast as we can or ds had to shield his eyes from the blinking.

Another thing I forgot to mention is the little light show. At the 20 and 40 minutes on the hour, there is a little light show which ends with the likeness of Olaf. I asked a cm if there was a name for this little projection. If there was, she didn't know. So I'm going to call it the Northern Lights Display.

The first night of the lights Santa Goofy goes to the giant tree (across from Youse Guys Moychindise) and there's a family picked and they turn on the giant switch
Not sure if this happens every night with Santa Goofy but I do think that t hey pick a family to flip the switch every night
Not really worth fighting the crowds to see this happen. We usually like to watch the lights turn on around the area of LMA's restrooms. But I fear this is the area they will use for the package

There were a couple changes at the sing-along too. A cm went through much of the FP+ line before show time and scanned magic bands so that people could walk right in. It really speeded up the FP+ entry.

Another change I noticed was at the Sing-along. When a family was seated in the first row just before show time, the cm asked the family to please put children in front of children and adults in front of adults.

Sounds like these are changes that make a lot of sense. :thumbsup2

It doesn't sound like there's much to the lighting ceremony. I've heard the crowds for Osborne Lights lessen as the night goes on, so I'm thinking we'll go later (like during Fantasmic, which we skip) rather than right when the lights are lit.

Itinkso...any way to get confirmation that the PM Set/Characterpalooza won't take place during the time the Lights run? It's my understanding that it hasn't run during OL season in the past, so I'm not counting on it taking place this year, but just want to verify before (sadly) deleting it from our December touring plan. It's always been a highlight of our trips and I'm pretty bummed not to be able to do it this year.

Kenny the Pirate posted within the past week or so that Characterpalooza was moved to the area near RnRC and Tot. I'm not sure exactly where, but maybe that means it will still happen after the Lights are on?

We always viewed the Lights close to or after park closing and last year was beyond crowded when we were there for the Lighting. CMs direct the crowd through the Streets so not everything can be seen that early in the night. After park closing is the ideal time to view the Lights.

Palooza has relocated to the ToT area as reported by Kenny the Pirate. Last year, Palooza was held through mid-November before Fantasmic casting was changed and full-time CMs were scheduled in different roles. I'll keep checking for you as DD is still in Fant every so often. Kenny should also know by mid-November, too.

Very encouraging! I like KTP, have his app, but the design of his site drives me insane so I don't check it regularly. Thanks for letting me know about the change to Characterpalooza!

I have just added the Frozen Premium Package for our Thanksgiving week trip. If I understand correctly, I will no longer need the FP+ for the sing along. (unless the kids want to do it twice) I would like to change to something other but I want to make sure I am not missing anything. Thanks

The Package reserves your seating at the Sing Along. You can switch out your Sing Along FP for another Tier 2 FP.

Weird question but someone mentioned a limited number of kids in the snow ground at a time. Just verifying that adults may accompany a child..?

Yes, parents can accompany their child.

The changes were good ones. :)

We found going later was definitely better for ds than going when it opened. Also entering from "the street where Darth Vader stands during SWW" worked better for us.

Characterpalooza definitely was down near ToT not Streets of America.

Yes, let's hope.

Thanks. I did remember a character. Before our youngest was born, we use to go to the passholder preview of the lights. Too bad they don't do that anymore. Came with complimentary cookies and hot chocolate.

I hope you have a great time and enjoy the package!

You do not need a FP+ for the singalong unless you want to see it twice. From what's written on the website, it looks like you'll get package seating either way. Hopefully, someone will report back.

Once the packages start, cm working there will know. Until then, anything can change and it would just be speculation. Even after the first party, things could still be tweaked for improvement.

Thanks for the update on thread title!

You're welcome.

I'm sorry for my wording. It's a limited number of people. You don't have to have children with you to enjoy the snowground. Adults are welcome.

Same here. I must have read it 3 times thinking I've missed something. DW read it too - and she also could not believe it was $89 for stuff we can see for free, plus dessert plus a 1 pin and 1 lithograph per family.

I even called Disney to find out if there was more. For $89 it's a total rip off. We were looking forward to a Frozen Party for December and were willing to pay Disney if it had substance - but this package is a joke.

I quite agree with that -- when I heard there was a package, I was kind of excited, but then I did the same thing -- read and re-read the package, started looking online to see if there was anything I'd missed and... yeah... I can't say that I'm at all impressed that they're charging $89 on what boils down to an "extra" FP+, a dessert, a pin and lithograph.... (the 1 per family on that I didn't even notice, that's even more.... terrible)

I just don't see the point (well, other than Frozen is popular and therefore this will make money) -- Like others have said, I suppose I should be happy since I've already paid for a Candlelight Processional Package and MVMCP...

Checking on any updates or changes/additions to this package. It doesn't seem to be selling well. Still available week of Christmas, including Christmas Eve & Christmas.

I called about Frozen Holiday Package in regards to Osborne Lights. Will 6pm entry guarantee seeing the lights turned on? FWIW, 1 CM said yes, the other put me on hold for ~4min, then stated no notes nor checking with supervisor indicated either, Y or N. Both stated numerous calls asking this same question.

ADR CMs are oftentimes based in the mid-west and they've never viewed the Osborne Lights. We met a Dining Reservation CM this year and she said they check Orlando weather reports when they begin their shift so they can answer weather questions appropriately.

Here is the response to your question from the previous page:
