*~* Official February 2013 Thread *~*

I am hoping to start planning outfits for the kids soon. I sew and embroider (a little) so I want to get an early start. Should I plan for long sleeves?
Looking for ADR's too and I was SHOCKED how much Cinderella's Castle will cost. I am reminded why we always pass on it but my girls would really love it now so I may just have to do it!

One last thing that may delay the trip to October is we may try for a third baby soon! If we get lucky quickly, we may be having a baby:rotfl:

Our resort of choice will either be Poly, POR RGR, or Art of Animation.

I'll keep you all posted.
good luck :goodvibes

Jealous, wish I could sew! Does CRT make the DDP worth it?

I'm opting for Akershus instead of CRT. I know it isn't quite the same, but I have heard mixed reviews about the food and service compared to the cost.

As far as DDP, when I ran calculations through a spreadsheet (trying to decide if I'm going to purchase DDP if free dining isn't offered) - I found that with the character meals I want plus a Fantasmic! package, I'm much better off with DDP than OOP. In addition to Akershus for lunch, I'm doing 3 more character meals plus Brown Derby for the Fantasmic package - adding the cost of those plus what we would eat for other meals (oldest son eats a LOT), the DDP is a great deal for me even without free dining.

I heard that President's Day this year was really crowded. I'm so glad that Mardi Gras is the week before this year instead of that week. We are flying out on the Friday before, hoping to get out of there before the President's Day weekend crowds build.

I plan to layer. Orlando is a bit warmer than we are (I see you are just north of me) - though the evenings may be cool it could be warm during the day. I'm making matching t-shirts and will probably do mostly short sleeve (maybe a few long sleeves), and we'll all bring hoodies to tie around waists (or throw in the back of the stroller). Of course, we will watch the weather and may change that, but for planning my family T's, I'm planning on half short sleeve t-shirts and half long-sleeve.

I wish I could embroider. I'm planning some tie dye shirts, and will probably run over to Lacombe to borrow my sister's cricut for some vinyl iron-ons. I'm still working on my t-shirt plans (maybe that is today's pinterest/google search topic ;) ).

President's Day weekend isn't too bad once you get used to it. We've gone at that time 2 years in row. I much prefer President's crowds over the hot, sweaty, stinky crowds of summer, lol. I do wish we could go at a less busy time but our schedules just won't allow it. Maybe someday we can.

I can't wait til we've decided on our exact dates. Waiting on room rates and to see if they will carry over the Military Salute tickets. If they don't carry over we still plan to go but instead of staying at a Disney resort we'll stay at the Shades of Green resort. It's still on Disney property and very nice but lacks the Disney theme. It's only been three months since we were at Disney and I'm so ready to go back.

Yes, I am thinking that I will make short sleeve shirts and they can put a long sleeve tee under them if it is cold. Last time we went, they kids had coats on the majority of the time no one could see their cute clothes! I love my cricut and I have been pinteresting a lot of Disney lately! My DD7 will not go for "cutsie" anymore but I am going to try some of the Disney peace sign stuff. Twin DDs3 love everything though. I may try a "MOM" iron-on with Mickey for the "o". Those are cute. Can't wait to get started.

Jealous, wish I could sew! Does CRT make the DDP worth it?

We are not doing DDP this time. We rented DVC points for BLT so we will not be eligible for FD and I don't think it is worth it for us. My girls never eat enough to make it worth it. Twin DDs3 share a kids meal and DD7 barely eats hers. Plus, I am hoping to eat breakfast in the room and even have a dinner or two in the Villa for the kids.
I think we will be skipping CRT though. We just can't justify spending $210 for all 5 of us to eat there. We did 1900 Park Fare last time and Akershus before that. DDs3 will really want to see some Princess so I think we will settle for Akershus, even though DH did not like the food. He will do it for his girls :)

Thanks for sharing your Disney pintrest board! Lots of awesome things on there. I am very excited about our trip. My DH & I honeymooned at Disney in June and I have also been in July, April and October. I am so excited to try out February. We thought it was a good choice for a 2 year old as well as a hot natured dh!
I can't wait to make ADR's and book our package! We are trying to decide between the meal plan and the deluxe. I was thinking the deluxe is a lot of food but DS won't have a meal plan so by the time we got him something OOP it may be cheaper to do deluxe and share/ get him something he likes while we eat an appetizer. Any thoughts?!

WHEW! I haven't been on here in awhile... We've had some major changes with DH's job and it looks like we have to reschedule for later in the year  He still promised 2013, but closer to the end of the year unfortunately... I guess that means I'm out of the Feb list :worried: Not sure if a mod can help us, but whoever would like to jump on and keep track of the OP's with the dates/times, ect let me know and I'll pass the torch! I'm not sure if maybe a new thread will just have to be made or what??

DsnyMama how sad that you have to reschedule the trip. I hope you will be able to make a trip in 2013.

Before our last trip last February, my husband said it would probably be our last time at WDW since he wanted to go to other places. Funny how when we were there he said we should go back to Disney again. Now that we're home, he talks about going back to Disney next February. So now we're planning a trip for the week before President's Day, so probably arriving on Feb. 10. We'd like to stay at POFQ, but we're going to wait for rates and deals before we commit to anyplace.

And we'll also go to Discovery Cove and Sea World again.

Thanks! I'm going to check your board.

2princesses1minnie - I will check your board and follow it too. My Disney board just says "vacation" in general but I think all I have on there is Disney. LOL

Welcome Bearybear!

Sorry that you have to reschedule, DsnyMama!

We were there the week before President's day (leaving the Saturday before President's day) and it wasn't too bad but it got really crowded starting on Thursday. There were tour groups from South America, too, which I wasn't expecting. But the weather was beautiful. Highs in the upper 70s/low 80s lows in the low 60s. For us, that meant shorts and swimming.
