I heard that President's Day this year was really crowded. I'm so glad that Mardi Gras is the week before this year instead of that week. We are flying out on the Friday before, hoping to get out of there before the President's Day weekend crowds build.

We arrived the Fri before Presidents Day and went to MK - crowds weren’t bad at all. It started to pick up on Saturday, though.

They changed plans at DH's work and it looks like we are 85% sure we are still on for Feb!! Just have to tie up loose strings!! SOOOO happy plans changed again - for the better this time!

Welcome back, Dsnymama! I'm glad it looks like Feb will work out. I love your push ahead as though it is 100% philosophy..... build it and they will come.

When I briefly mentioned the idea of a Disney vacation to my husband, I had already started pushing forward as if I were doing it, and I booked the room before I told him that I was definitely going. Now, I talk about it as if it is fact (it is), and he's accepted the fact that I'm leaving with the kids over Mardi Gras for Disney - leaving him home. It's all in the attitude. February it is!

For some reason, I thought we couldn't book 2013 until August, but is it really next month?

It's been August, but the rates came out in June last year. I've heard rumors it will be June again.

We are going Mardi Gras 2013.
Free dining ended the Thursday before Mardi Gras in 2011, so I flew over early with my littlest granddaughter and checked in, then my daughter and oldest grandson joined us on that Saturday. If they offer it again, you can bet it will end on a weekday the week before Fat Tuesday. This year we will be prepared to go early again.
I hope you get to go.

Congrats! We will be at BLT Feb 8-15! This is our first time in a villa. Can't wait to be able to walk to MK!

We will see you there! We stayed in a studio at BLT last October and we loved it! This time we upgraded to a 1 bedroom villa. We have three young children (5, 4, and 1) and you can't beat the location. It is so nice not to have to break down a big double stroller every time we go to a park. I also enjoyed being able to walk to and from the Magic Kingdom. We did the Halloween party and the monorail was packed when we left so we just walked to the room which saved us probably 30 minutes of waiting.

After running figures, we decided on 2 Little Mermaid rooms at AoA providing they offer free dining during our dates. That gives us the best deal $$ wise. We really wanted a Nemo suite, and may still do it, but it will save us $600 to just get 2 standard rooms.

we are planning to take DD for her first trip and it will be for her 3rd birthday! February 25-March 5th staying at Art of Animation either Nemo room or Cars room. DD loves both of those right now so not sure which rooms would be better. Can't wait to go!
