I know this is a stretch, I've looked and googled and dont see anything like it. My son is going to be turning 21 when we go to Disney, he is also in the Army, do you think it's possible to get an Army/Disney themed cake? Maybe a saluting Mickey?

We had a full day planned so had ours delivered to CBR as early as possible. They said 8-9 am was the earliest and it was delivered at 8:30. Not sure if you're wanting it delivered sooner than that though.
That's perfect. I got my family out the door for rope drop for Christmas one year, and that's it. They're not morning people lol. Thanks!

Question… how long did you wait for a return call from Pat at the Grand Floridian? I don't want to be a pest but I am hoping for a call back soon!

Not sure when you left your message but I know she only works Tuesday - Saturday normally but this might have been different with the holidays. I got a call back the same day back in September.

Well, i have to say I am pretty disappointed by my call with pat at the GF. all i wanted was a mini cake with a small apple or possibly a pencil or something sculpted to top the cake to indicate that my mother was a teacher and she had recently retired. all she offered me was a flat clip art picture of an apple or a book for an extra $15 dollars. I'm not sure why i couldn't have something hand sculpted for the same extra fee.

I am a pastry chef myself so I know its not difficult or expensive to quickly make an apple out fondant and stick it on the cake… even if it is only 1 inch on top it can fit..
I still ordered the cake because I know my mom will be so surprised and touched but I have to say I am really surprised and disappointed.

I may just sculpt an apple myself and ask the waiter to add it on real quick before it comes out….

I'm new to the board and have never ordered a cake from WDW before. I'm getting married on 3/5 and am looking for a haunted mansion grooms cake for the rehersal dinner on 3/4 (my fiance LOVES Haunted Mansion). Tricky part is we're getting married on the other side of the state in St. Pete. Anyone know if it's possible to get a cake like the first one in the post linked below, and have it picked up at say Boardwalk Bakery? Would need it to be a 10" cake or a 2-tiered (if that's even possible) to feed about 16-17 people.

Any ideas where i should start? TIA!!

You can pick up cakes from the Boardwalk Bakery, so I would start with them. Contact info is on page 1 of this thread. I'm not sure if I've ever seen a Haunted Mansion one done by them but it's worth asking. I think most seem to come from the Contemporary and/or GF. But since the Boardwalk can do fancy fondant cakes I would think they could do the same. Good luck!

I had a Haunted Mansion cake at Yachtman's Steakhouse which is serviced by BWB

Our birthday cake surprise was a success! We picked up our 6 inch vanilla/vanilla cake at the Artist's Palette. It was done by Boardwalk Balery. I managed to sneak away while everyone else was at the front desk and brought it out to my dad, and he was definitely surprised and loved it! It's Star Wars themed with the quote "when 900 years old you reach, look as good you will not" by yoda in white chocolate. they tinted the buttercream shades of blue and added glitter to give the appearance of space. They couldn't do a yoda figure, so we bought a monitor sitter yoda that he can now take to work, and it was absolutely perfect! Surprisingly, they only charged us the base price of $23 for the cake!
We've only eaten half the cake so far (we had a 50s prime time adr shortly after) so we have some more eating to do!

Very excited - we just ordered our first Disney Cake for our trip in 2 weeks! We will be celebrating DD 1st birthday. Her name is Alice so we are doing an Alice in Wonderland theme cake - we are working with Pat at the Grand Floridian and so far so good. 6" vanilla cake with dark chocolate mousse filling and pink fondant. I will post a pic when we return - this thread has been so helpful in planning our cake.

Just sent an email to CRT to order a cake for our daughter's 10th birthday on the 24th. We've done the package there and while it's nice, it's not necessary to repeat. :) I requested a Descendant's cake, so fingers crossed they can do one! :)

This thread was so helpful to me when planning and ordering my cakes and I am happy to be able to share how they turned out. It was mine and DD's bday (she was actually born on my bday and we were in Disney for the actual day). We were camping at Fort Wilderness so I called the cake hotline then did emails with chef Donald at the contemporary. I ordered 3 weeks ahead of time

I asked for 1 6 inch cake with one layer of white chocolate mousse and one layer of dark chocolate mousse with green fondant, daisies and grumpy on top. It turned out beautifully! I added the candle. My cake was bigger than my dd's because I was sharing mine with my dh ad other dd. It was $74.

For DD's cake I had asked for a mini castle cake in pink. Her cake was for her alone so I was fine with it being small. It was $35.

The chef was easy to work with and overall I was very happy with the cakes. They looked great and they were delicious. The only thing I would do different in the future is forgo the mousse filling. Lurkeyloo is correct, it is very bland. The buttercream frosting that they had on the outside underneath the fondant was really, really good and if I order another cake in future I will just get buttercream throughout. I did not like the fondant, but I expected that because I don't like fondant in general but love the way it looks on the cake. There was enough buttercream underneath that I was able to take the fondant off and still enjoy the cake very much. Thanks everyone for all your help!

I ended up going with a Frozen themed cake for DD's third birthday. Pictures don't do it justice. It was really beautiful. I ordered it through Amy Jackson at Magic Kingdom cakes. Everything went very smooth even with a change in our dining reservation to an earlier time. Here's the info:

Price: $89.00
Date: 11/12/15
Location: Be Our Guest
Cake Info: 6" chocolate cake with dark chocolate mousse filling and vanilla buttercream frosting. Blue and white fondant with white fondant snowballs around the bottom and on top of the cake, white glittery sugar snowflakes on the cake, frozen characters screen printed on white chocolate and a blue white chocolate 3. The happy birthday message was written on the tray in chocolate.

The celebration was very nice and included a card from The Beast and Belle and a few cast members to sing Happy Birthday. She loved it!

Beautiful cake. I was wondering if you had this cake delivered during lunch or dinner? We have a lunch reservation for Be Our Guest but I don't know if they will allow us to have a fancy fondant cake delivered during lunch or not. Thanks in advance.

Chiming in - I wanted to do the same thing at the very beginning of January '15. I just wanted buttercream and a screen print, or a mini cake. They wouldn't do it then at lunch. However, it's now reservation only all day..so maybe you'll have better luck despite it still being quick service. We just had a FP for it. I personally feel that if the meal requires an ADR you should be allowed cake. I don't think they are looking for my opinion though ;)

I was thinking along the same line. We are traveling with a large group for the Princess Half Marathon Weekend and BOG and Sci-Fi are the two meals that everyone will be together so I was thinking this would make a good time to do her 16th birthday cake. I want to do something fancy and since BOG is in Magic Kingdom I thought maybe this would be the meal to do it at. I might try contacting someone at MK to see what they say.

I would email magickingdomcakes@disney.com and ask them if it's possible to get a cake with lunch at BoG. My guess is the answer will be no because cake orders are generally for Table Service only. I doubt they would want to get into that sort of thing at a QS location even though it's kind of a different set up, but it can't hurt to ask.

I'm hoping to get a 6 inch custom almond cake with amaretto filling. It's a welcome to Disney/birthday cake and I would like to leave the design primarily up to the bakers. I just want buttercream, not fondant but would like it to be on the fancy/creative side. Would you suggest ordering from the contemporary to be delivered at chef mickey's or from the GF to be delivered to our room at the Poly?

I would order from the Contemporary—they are MUCH easier to work with!

Here are the Rowlf cake pictures I took on my phone. Fingers crossed it works!

Thanks for posting these! It turned out great!

Yes! I feel like I've seen similarly themed cakes in the past. Talk to the pastry chef about what they can do.

Can you order the cake for delivery someplace else so you don't have to work with the GF? The Contemporary is the easiest to work with.
