Ijust wanted to let you know that I called the CR cake hotline and explained my situation of wanting a custom cake for DD 15th bday at Tony's. I explained that I had every door slammed in my face and the very wonderful Sally explained that if i wanted to pick the cake up from the Wave in CR and take it with me that is something that they could do. She gave me Jessi's email address, let me know she was off that day and that she would forward on to Brian my email. Brian and i have been corresponding ever since and now my DD will have her beautiful Belle cake!!:yay:
I guess what i am saying is don't give up. I spent alot of lunch hours at work trying to pull this off.

Do I call CR Private Dining if I want a cake at Liberty Tree or Plaza???? I reallllllly want the Haunted Mansion cake!!!!!!!

I have a private number straight to Sally at CR cakes. I'm new here and I am not sure how to get that number to you. Because I'd love to help you out

Sleeping Beauty Cake

Has anyone done a sleeping Beauty cake? My little girl will be 10 while we are there this trip and we are thinking about getting her a custom 8 inch cake for our dinner with the grandparents at Jiko's.

Right now I know it has to be pink! and a Sleeping Beauty theme. She has always loved her. Maybe something with the fairies on it? Or some rose for Brier Rose? Or maybe SB's crown in a bed of pretty flowers..

Any ideas would be great!

I LOVE that Minnie cake and that Tink cake in the picture thread they are to die for!!!!!

I have already talked to Chwf Tony at AKL and he can even make the cake gluten free for my little girl since she has celiac's so it is so special that she can actually have a cake some where other then one mommy has made!

This is a picture of the cake that i had made for my DD 9 birthday at GF (i am still working on the whole adding a picture thing so i hope i have attached it)

:lmao: Sounds like something my dd would say. I did ask if it would be painted as I didn't want plain and was told they have a lady that hand paints them. Maybe they forgot to quote me for that and explains the price difference. Oh well, I am sure it will be gorgeous either way. DD will be happy.

We had ordered a cake for our anniversary and had a Tink cake topper.
I didn't ask for her to painted or unpainted, I just never thought about it.
She automatically came painted and she looked pretty good.

The pic that I have isn't really that great. It's a little small and she looks better in person...I still have her ...lol

I'm glad that they painted her. She really stood out and looked great on top of the cake!

Now that is beautiful. Exactly the kind of Tink I would love to have. I want to see color. Can I ask where you ordered it from? Thanks

That tink is beautiful! That is EXACTLY what I was hoping for when I paid the extra $35 for a painted tink!

i called the number for the GF today...Pat was off, i spoke with someone else who was super nice took down my info and the basics of what i was looking for and said Pat would call me back tomorrow!

ok, mabye i am being neurotic about this, but I am seeing were most people getting a cake at the contemporary have a email Jessi and been connceted with Brian. Should I be worried that I have only emailed with Jessi? MY trip isn't until Nov., but I am worriedthat it is going to get skrewed up if I don't takl to the guy actually doing the decorationg. What do you guys think? Should I try to get in touch with Brain, or wait and follow up with Jessie closer to our trip??

We got this cake for my youngest daughter's birthday last October. It was delivered at 'Ohana and we ordered it through Poly Private Dining. You would probably order it through the Cake Hotline now, though. My daughter LOVED it and so did everyone around us. It was really good. It was yellow cake with a buttercream filling. The icing was a chocolate ganache and it had some sort of brittle/toffee type nuts pressed into the sides all around the outside of the cake (we didn't ask for that, but it was a nice touch). If I remember correctly, the cake was around $40. Note, she was turning 3. I brought a pack of candles with us and gave them to our server. He put 4 candles on the cake before bringing it to the table. LOL!

How long shoul di wait before I cal back?
I called last week about the cake and the cake hotline put me in contact with the chef and he was going to look into some things for me. I left a message for him Friday and am so tempted to call back but I don't want to be a pain but I want to get my cake ordered!

I wouldn't call now. If you haven't heard back from anyone by 2 weeks before your trip, you should give them a call. It sounds like Brian is up to his mouse ears in specialty cake orders right now, and I'm sure you'll have a better chance of speaking with him when it gets closer to your date. :)

Well, it's only Monday today, so I'd give him a bit longer. :thumbsup2

Do not worry. They're all in touch with each other, especially now that the new email address doesn't work. If you emailed Jessi, and Brian is the one who is going to be handling your cake, Brian will contact you.

Depending on when your date is, give it time. I emailed, then I waited a week before I contacted again (this left ten days for the date I scheduled). I was contacted within a day of sending that email.

If you send the follow-up and don't hear anything after twenty-four hours, call the the cake hotline and go back to the Contemporary and talk to them. I don't think you have anything to worry about, especially since your date is in November. They're working with a lot of customers, and they need to talk to those who have a date sooner.

I called today, and Sally was so nice. She told me this is the Tink we would be getting. The exact one I wanted. I'm so excited. I'll be the one crying when I see it and dd will be saying "oh that's nice and why are you crying. It's just a cake." :rotfl2:

I was thinking about surprising my family for our trip in Dec with some sort of in-room surprise. I know of wdw florist and have used it before and we have also used the cake service at WL for an in-room mother's day cake but I didn't know if there were special Christmas Cakes that you can request for in-room celebrations?

If anyone knows if Christmas type cake exist please let me know!! and contact into too!!!

TIA

Funny you mention that. Are you getting your tink statue painted? I had wanted it painted to look like tink, not just white. Pat said that would cost another $35, but I said that would be okay. I was expecting the paint to be a little more obvious I guess. She is in a sparkling sort of glitter green dress. It is barely noticeable in the pictures. If I was to order the same cake over again, I would either be more specific in how I wanted her painted or I would skip the painting.

Although my daughter did love her. She is in our fridge at home now. When I unpacked her one of the wings had cracked off. I broke the news to my daughter, who instead of being sad excitedly said "So does this mean I can finally eat it?" :lmao:

I think your cake is gorgeous but if I had paid that extra money, I too would have expected more in terms of how Tink looked. I would have at least expected what one of our later posters showed, where you can really see the dress. Her dress is a dark green. The cake itself though....oh my its pretty!!!!!!! :thumbsup2
