Oct '08 - this is the Tink we paid extra for! note the flowers on the side - were NOT edible! And that one teeny tiny candle? It was at 1900 Park Fare - and I swear the server waited till DH left the table then brought it out!

This was when I decided NEVER again would I order a custom cake - it was NOT worth the $$!

I'm glad to see cakes coming out that are worth it - excited to see chefs enthusiastic about making cakes! well maybe not - because now I"M TEMPTED to order again! :rotfl2: (esp since we are going for our 29th Anniversary at the Calif. Grill!!)

Can anyone explain what "bavarian cream" is,,

I want to order a vanilla (white sponge) cake with strawberrys inside but i dont my partner would enjoy the custard filling, so i see others have ordered the bavarian?

Im not familiar with this,

Cheers

Wow, you are very lucky that CR is willing to deliver a cake to CRT. This is the first I've heard of this but maybe that is why your cake is so expensive (delivery charges)?? :confused3

I'm also very surprised they said the restaurant will hold your leftovers as many pp have mentioned being told that restaurants won't do that due to health regulations.

Interesting.
Just got back from my trip yesterday so I thought I would report back on my cake experience. My Cinderella cake was delivered to CRT breakfast just as promised exactly how I ordered it! Yummmo( it's the cinderella cake on page 3 of this thread I just e-maile picture to them when I ordered it was easy as pie) I did call the day before to check and they said all was a go. By the way they DID hold my left overs for me. She said they would be taking them to the basement cooler. When I come back just to tell the lady at podeum I had my cake to pick up and I could pick them up by 8:00 pm the park closed at 9:00 pm. I had a great experience with Jessi at the CR bakery 2 thumbs up

I called the cake hotline & there was no option to talk to CR private dining.

How can I get a hold of Jessi at CR ?
I have to order a cake quickly so it can be done for DD's birthday on 9/22 :worship::worship:

You would need to call CR's private dining directly. I'm pretty sure the number is somewhere in this thread.

I finally spoke with Sally at CR private dining,
she said to call MK cake line:confused3

Anyway, I finally found someone willing to customize a little bit an 8" vanilla cake at CRT. I asked that they write Happy 5th Birthday....(DD's name) & that they put pink flowers on it. :yay::cloud9:
She said it was going to be 32$ and will be charged at the end of the meal.

I canceled the slipper dessert order that I had previously made.
I think there will be way too much leftover with an 8" cake but I want that special surprise for DD. I don't think they'll agree on keeping the leftover till we leave the park ? what do you think ?:surfweb:

This is a cake that we ordered at the podium at Tutto Italia. The frosting is a little messed up on it. We thought it tasted really good. They added the chocolate wafers to decorate it a little more.

Cost $21.00 plus tax

Here's the number I've been using to talk to Sally at CR. Hopefully it will work for you as I am going to The Wave. If not she will be able to direct you to the right person. 407-827-2253 Press 7 then 1. Good luck

Hey, I recognise that cake! :lmao:

I forgot to post these here. This is the mad hatter cake my hubby ordered for my birthday. Lilo is my favourite character. It was made by the GF bakery (Pat) to be eaten at Citrico's. I was sooooo blown away by it. The filling was milk chocolate buttercream.

OMG! I feel so dumb. I have spent the last 3 days combing ALL of the old cake threads (working my way from oldest to most recent) looking for a stitch cake. I only wish I had started with the most recent pics first! :headache:

YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!
I am trying to surprise my DF with a grooms cake at our wedding, and his favorite character is stitch. Your cake is so close to what I was envisioning. Thanks for sharing!:woohoo:

Here are the pictures of my Ariel Cake with purple icing and sprinkles...the CR Bakery did an absolutely FABULOUS job :cheer2: There was soooooo much detail and it tasted great. My daughter was absolutely thrilled to show off her cake to Ariel. MANY MANY MANY THANKS to Brian and his team for making my daughter's Birthday so magical princess:

Please keep in mind that you must have a "purchase order" created for your cake, and this is what the folks who answer the private dining line do. Jessi and Brian handle the actual design of your cake. But you have to have an order to get the cake itself.

Jessi does not create the order-- Sally, Marie, and company do. So it's necessary for you to call (on top of any emails that you may send).

When you work with the designers (chefs, artists, magic makers!), they refer to your order. So it's very helpful for everyone involved if you call first and listen to the instructions of the person you speak with before you email. Not every order is going to require the same steps, and not every bakery may want you to follow the same protocol depending on what you're looking for or what they need from you.

Now, that being said, if you call, and you run into a road block, I'd recommend calling back. It could be the person you're speaking with or just the way the two people speaking are wording things. We've read many, many times on here about how someone will call, hear one thing, then call again and hear another. If it's something that doesn't sound right to you, call back. Try to make your request again. If you're not "getting through". Sometimes a simple, Okay, I may not be saying this right, but this is what I've heard has happened in the past, and I'd like something like this. Can you point me in the right direction?

That should help. If it doesn't, call back again or ask to speak with someone else.

But be sure to try to follow their request to call first (and if you don't get the results you wanted the first time, try again! We've seen it work!).

I would like to add a little thought. I order the white choc. slipper and after we were seated a lady came out and doubled check my name and then asked me to look at the order form to be sure McKenna's name was correct and that it was what I ordered. It was just too perfect:) I was a little teary...to say the least.

We were wanting to get a specialty cake ordered for our dinner at T-Rex but when I called WDW there was no option for T-Rex?? I tried the email but it keeps bouncing back. Is there another number I could call ??

I need help!! We are leaving in a 2 1/2 weeks for the worlds. My cousin is going with us. This is her first visit & the first night we are eating at 1900 PF. The major thing is she is graduating from nursing school just 4 days before we leave. She has paid for schooling herself & we are so proud of her. After seeing some of the cakes from Contemp. I wish we were eating there the first night. I have no idea what to do for a cake for her. I helping that some of you pros on here can help me out. Ideas, suggestion, & pics are all welcome. I first have a couple of question.

She is a chocolate nut. At first thought I would get a Marble cake with dark choc. filling. After going through this thread I think she would love the Peanut Butter Cup filling. Then I was thinking doing a choc. cake with the pbc filling She is a fan of Minnie but doesn't like white choc. Her favorite color is orange. Do I have to order a 10" cake to be able to get the PBC filling. Themeing is what I am really having problems with. I don't know what to ask for. I hope some of you can help me.
