Sorry I haven't read through this whole thread, but it's a long one!

We're celebrating our 1st anniversary with a quick trip to CSR in Oct. and I'm thinking about a cake. Our actual anniversary is our arrival day. We're set to be in Epcot that night and eat at Rose and Crown. Has anyone ever had a cake delivered there? It's just the two of us so I don't want anything big (or super $ :scared1:), but I want something nicer than the pre-made ones.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

I called Private Dining and asked to speak to someone in Bakery for both the GF and the Contemporary.

I am going to call again tomorrow - wish me luck!

I just ordered last week from GF . You need to call Pat at 407-824-1951. She takes the orders and you can customize the 6". Good luck.

I called Pat at the GF yesterday afternoon ( tues) and left my name and number for her to call me back. I heard nothing from her today. How long is the response time? I think If I have not heard anything by tomorrow I will call again Friday morning or is that too soon?

I left a message for her on Mon (her day off) and heard back from her Tues nite...around 8 pm. Try her again if you don't hear within 48 hrs would be my opinion.

Just wanted to update on my cake order. So we are getting a dinosaur cake at CM. I can't wait to see the creation Brian comes up with. DS loves the carnatoraus (bad guy) from the movie Dinosaurs. He is going to be in the middle of the cake with a jungle theme decorated on the cake :)

Will share pics when we return mid Sept.

Hello! I am hoping you all can help me with a suggestion or two. We are taking DD2 for her first trip in a couple of weeks. I would love to order her a cake to be delivered at one of our dinners. I just want something small and not very expensive (around $20 total with tax and tip). We are eating at CP, 'Ohana, Le Cellier, Raglan Road, 50's Prime Time (lunch), Donald's Breakfast. She is a huge Princess Aurora fan, but also loves Mickey, Minnie, Pooh and Friends and Goofy. Is there anything I can get for this amount of money and delivered to any of those places? I saw the little Mickey cakes that are $4, but it does not appear they can be delivered. That is the size I would probably want. Oh, and we are not really celebrating anything other than her first trip.

Thanks for any suggestions.

dfchelbay - That glittery cake is absolutely stunning!!! Could you please share some more info on it, like where did you order it from, how did it taste, how much, would you order it again. TIA!

Raecheal - That Aerosmith cake is awesome! I've never seen a cake on here like that. Love it!!

To anyone - We are going to be in WDW on my actual birthday and I am really leaning towards having my birthday dinner at Mama Melrose's. Does anyone know if they can make a speciality cake and/or what their cake abilities would include? I'll eventually call closer to our date but right now I'm just trying to get ideas.

How about the princess surprise mini-cake? I got this for DD at our Akershus meal and it was a huge hit. It's not too big and costs $15. You can get it at one of your character meals.

You could always get the little Princess Treasure Chest cake. It is one of the Celebration 'Add-ons' that is available at most restaurants (I believe the complete list is on the WDW website). it is about the size of two good sized cupcakes put together and is served in a treasure chest - pink for Princesses and brown for Pirates. If memory serves me correctly it is around $14.

Going in two weeks for dd 6th birthday. Looking for a picture I saw about two months ago of a beautiful Tink cake. Can't seem to find it again. Could you please re post it!!!! Thanks

I'm getting an 8 " Bavarian strawberry cream cake customized at The Wave at the Contemporary complete with a Tink white chocolate, hand painted statue and 2 chocolate strawberries and the cake is supposed to say "I TINK everyone has the right to my opinion". Of course it is for 2 people and I don't even like cake so I've offered before. Anyone at the Wave on Sept 22 around 6 or 7 drop by, introduce yourself, and have a piece. Of course if you try to take my dd's statue she may chop your hand off.......:lmao: She'll be the grumpy little brat that hasn't had enough sleep all week. Everybody say "Hi, Aspen". Oh how she will hate me, but I just love making my little girl miserable:rotfl2: She's almost 13 you know as she would say!! She'll wonder how everyone knows her name.

Our ressies are for The Wave are 7:10 that night. If I see you, I'll try to stop by the table and say hi to Aspen. (I'm trying to decide if I want to suprise ds with a cake that night or wait until the next day which is his actual b-day).

I wanted to order a cake for my 11th anniversary with my boyfriend for our upcoming trip in October. I called the Yachtsman's Steakhouse private dining last night and asked the woman who answered what the smallest size cake was that I could have customized. She was very rude and abrupt and blurted out "10" cake." I asked if I could customize anything smaller and she said no. So that was the end of our converstaion

I called back just now, hoping to get someone different, and I sure did! She was so nice and recommended that I order the mini wedding cake, which is perfect for two people who do not want leftovers. She said the bottom tier is about 4 inches, and the top tier is about 2.5 inches. And there are a few layers in each tier. And I was able to choose my flavors! I got a marble cake with stawberry custard filling and chocolate buttercream frosting. It will be $25. I am so glad I called back and she answered the phone

I'm glad it worked out!!!

How cool is that?! I say save it for the next day and let him have some of ours that night. Otherwise the majority is going in the trash I would imagine. Then he will be thinking how cool it is and get his surprise the next day. I'm just doing it for the fun really and to see what wonderful creation Brian can come up with. Our reservation is for 6 that night. What is his name and how old will he be?

I read the thread on a daily basis, love to see all the pictures and post. The time for me to order a cake has finally arrived. We are arriving on my DD 6th birthday. The most common places ppl discuss here are BW, GF and Contemp. Can anyone offer information about experiences you have had at WL? I would like to have a cake delivered to our room as a surprise...something colorful and unique. TIA

My son's name is Evan and he is turning 7. We are eating at Tony's Town Square the night of his b-day (his favorite meal is chicken parm), so I think I will only be able to get him either a podium cake or a treasure cake the actual night of his b-day. That's why I was considering ordering a custom cake the night before. :)

This sounds like the kind of thing I'm looking for. Do you know if they deliver these to World Showcase restaurants too?

The fondant cakes are so pretty. I want to order a cake for my son's birthday in November, but I have one question....what does fondant taste like? It looks a bit like play-doh, I hope it tastes better!

Most people do not eat the fondant - it's basically just for decoraton, and there is tasty buttercream frosting underneath when you peel it off. :thumbsup2

Your cake would be made by Hollywood Studios' bakery, not Mama Melrose. I can't vouch for their cakes, but I can say that the desserts they turn out for private Fantasmic! parties are wonderful! :goodvibes
