The cake order hotline for Magic Kingdom is 407-284-7091. Just leave a message and the cast members with ll get back to you as soon as possible. I know that the options they give are very limited but if there is something you have your heart set on let them know. Stress your request. If that doesn't work ask them if there is any way the bakery can accomadate your request.

Has anyone had any luck with the above number? I called ALL day yesterday and kept getting a strange message.... :scared1:

Ok, so I've got some Christmas ideas thanks to you a few of you (very special thanks to those that PM'd me) and the almighty cake man, Brian.

I think I'm going to go with something from Mickey's Christmas Carol or MVMCP themed. I'll wait to decide once I call.

But, here are my new questions for those that have ordered from any of the Contemporary restaraunts:

1.) Is it more to get a filling than just a regular cake?
2.) What type of filling and/or cake would you rec (combinations, etc...I want to just hear any recs!)

With my 8 inch cake I was asked what flavor of cake and what filling. I was not charged more for the filling. Our cake was choc. cake with fresh rasberries and rasberry mousse and it was very yummy.

I am leaning toward the mini cake. I like how it was decorated. What did you ask for? I just think the plane white one was too plain. Now I am going to get that cake for Oct and Jan. I wonder if it can be made low sugar?

OK, so I just got off the phone with someone from both the Contemporary and the GF and now I'm wondering what is/isn't right about what I was told.

Cali Grille told me that the smallest cake they customize is 10". Both said that the only flavors they offer at 8in are Choc/Choc or Vanilla/Vanilla - if I wanted different flavors, I'd need to order a 10in which is WAYYY too much cake for 2 people!

From reading this thread everyday, I'm pretty sure this isn't 100%, and I'm too nice to call and be pushy! haha

The lady at the Contemporary gave me an email of a woman named Jessi to email, but email makes me so nervous. I'm sending one anyway, and I hope I get an answer there.

Do you suggest I call and specifically ask to speak with someone in the bakery? I went on and on with the girls on the phone about what kind of theme I was going for and they weren't even listening :headache:

Edit- Well the e-mail address doesn't work- so I guess I am back to square one! :sad2:

This is what I was told when I ordered our 25th Anniversary cake for my party of 5 back in January......so I went with a 10 inch cake.

Marble Cake/Raspberry mousse filling/white buttercream under the pink fondant....it was yummy (Yachtsman Steakhouse)

I HOPE I don't have to order a 10" just to get my DH a Tower of Terror cake!

If that's a fact, I'm not even going to bother, because we already have the DxDP, I just figured I'd do something nice for his birthday/our 1st Anniversary.

All I want is the Bellhop Hat!

I am only a week away from ordering my cake and I need some help with the filling. This cake of for our 20th anniversary and we will have it at 1900 Park Fare. My DH loves chocolate cake, I love the regular birthday cake type icing, butter cream I guess, but what should we get for the filling? I guess I need something that will not have to be refrigerated, just in case it wont fit.

What would be the best filling for this cake?:confused3

I say call back and be pushy - that cake would be so easy for them to make and so cool for us to see! :cutie: Call Private Dining at the GF (maybe you did this) and ask for Pat, or call the Private Dining at CR and tell them you want to speak to Brian the pastry chef.

From everything we were told, all of the mousse fillings need to be refrigerated, so your only choices would be buttercream frosting in chocolate or vanilla. Maybe you could do chocolate inside the cake for your DH and vanilla outside for you, or vice versa. :)

Does anyone know if a cake can be ordered and delivered to your resort. We will be at the WORLD in September and we want to have a cake delivered to our resort for an "in room" party.

Help.

Thanks

I'm getting an 8 " Bavarian strawberry cream cake customized at The Wave at the Contemporary complete with a Tink white chocolate, hand painted statue and 2 chocolate strawberries and the cake is supposed to say "I TINK everyone has the right to my opinion". Of course it is for 2 people and I don't even like cake so I've offered before. Anyone at the Wave on Sept 22 around 6 or 7 drop by, introduce yourself, and have a piece. Of course if you try to take my dd's statue she may chop your hand off.......:lmao: She'll be the grumpy little brat that hasn't had enough sleep all week. Everybody say "Hi, Aspen". Oh how she will hate me, but I just love making my little girl miserable:rotfl2: She's almost 13 you know as she would say!! She'll wonder how everyone knows her name.

I would stop by if I were going going to be there! :)

To the poster having the problems with cake size, I'm getting the HM cake in an 8". I called the Contemporary yesterday and it was a breeze to order it. Did you call California Grill or private dining at the Contemporary?

Yes - you need to call Private Dining at your resort. :thumbsup2

It depends on which resort you're at. I've read that many people have problems with having cakes delivered to the Values and some of the Mod's. If you're at a Deluxe, no problem- call Private Dining. I'm not saying that a cake can't be delivered to a Value or a Mod, but more people seem to go through the runaround and hassle when ordering for them. Which resort are you at? You can always order one at the Boardwalk Bakery to pick-up and take back to your resort should you have any problems with having one delivered.

I called Private Dining and asked to speak to someone in Bakery for both the GF and the Contemporary.

I am going to call again tomorrow - wish me luck!

I called Pat at the GF yesterday afternoon ( tues) and left my name and number for her to call me back. I heard nothing from her today. How long is the response time? I think If I have not heard anything by tomorrow I will call again Friday morning or is that too soon?

Apparently, this is a common problem. I called the cake hotline, and selected the Boardwalk Bakery. I asked what cake I could get for my DS b'day. They told me a 8" could be customized and would be $55 (we want Wall-E), but to have it delivered to the table at Cape May, we would have to get it from the Beach Club private dining. She transferred me to them and they said that the smallest customized cake would be 10", and the only choices in the 6 or 8 inch versions were chocolate or vanilla. :confused3 Why the common discrepancy?

Is there a photo of the pirate chest premade cake anywhere? How much do these cost and do they have to be ordered in advance?

Thanks!

Alright, I hope i'm sharing my cake in the appropriate thread. After 7 different people telling me that they do not make customs cakes....:confused3 I finally got ahold of a CM who gave me one of the Chef's email from the Boardwalk Bakery. After a few emails/photos being exchanged, it was a go.

I decided to go with a rock n' roll theme as a surprise for Dbf because I was surprising him with Aerosmith Tickets.

It cost roughly 110.00 US, and it's an almond cake with bavarian cream filing.

Here it is:

My sons would love that!

The fondant cakes are so pretty. I want to order a cake for my son's birthday in November, but I have one question....what does fondant taste like? It looks a bit like play-doh, I hope it tastes better!
