Only 3 days to go for me and my dad! WOO HOO! I have been checking the weather multiple times a day, which I should probably stop doing because it seems like every time I do it is different. :confused3 While I wouldn't say I'm scared it's going to be too hot, it is probably going to feel really hot because we haven't been above 40 here in WI all month (well, today is pretty nice and there was one other day...but other than that it's been unusually cold).

All I ask for is that there isn't too much rain. Oh, and lots of sun. :sunny:

weather-related tidbit: during last year's april trip, rain was forecasted EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. And like 70-80% chance to boot. All week I waited for the downpours to start and of the 5 days, it only rained during 2 of them - 1 was just a quick shower, on and off for maybe 2 hours tops. The other, it didn't start raining 'til about 4-5:00 and then it downpoured the rest of the night....but other than that, if it rained it must have been overnight because I didn't see it. But I spent the entire trip obsessively checking the weather every 1/2 hour and fearing our trip would be washed out, lol. So, point of my story is --- don't take the forecast as gospel!!

Just a few more weeks!!! We will arrive on April 27th and plan on taking the ferry to DTD from POR. We would like to eat at DTD, wanting some opinions on favorite restaurants?

That is what we are doing on our first day too! :) We have an ADR at Raglan Road.

I haven't been posting much but I promise I've been reading along. We're going with my in-laws on their DVC but I ordered my own park tickets and they arrived today! WOO HOO! I can not even express how excited I am. I know you all understand though.

Yay! Can't wait!!!

we are also leaving in 2 weeks, driving from Maine. I almost cannot stand waiting any longer!! we are down to 12 days and time seems to have stopped!! lol

We are leaving in 2 weeks! My only disappointment is that we will be driving from RI. We did it once when my son was 5 he is now turning 16 during our trip. Flying is just so much better! The heat and me do not mix I get very cranky so I too will be hoping for temps in the 70's

You're driving from RI with a 16-year-old. You have my sympathy! :rotfl:

Once he gets his learner's permit, you can make him drive. :rotfl2: My son drove my motorhome almost all the way home via the Skyline Drive with only his learner's permit. He learned to follow the speed limits when driving a motorhome!

For this trip, we're leaving her 15-year-old and my now 25-year-old home. Just the two of us are flying from RI for a couples-only trip.

A 16 year old and a 10 year old!!! I may have a lot more gray hair when I get back! When we first told my son that we may have to drive because the flights were so expensive he said he was staying home! He is a huge Disney fan so I new e would come around. He will be going for his learners permit the day after we get back!
Enjoy your couples only trip!!

Kudos to everyone who's driving. I wouldnt mind being able to save $2k but driving is not for us. We went to MD last summer and had to break the ride into 2 days. First day MA to NJ, then NJ to MD. Even that was torture for us. YDd is very active so being strapped down for 4-5 hours was unbearable for her. The only part of her body she could exercise was her vocal cords.....which was unbearable for the rest of us. :lmao:

Unfortunately we will be most likley doing it in 2 days which means less Disney time! Our plan as of now is to leave at 4 am and hopefully stop for the night in Florence south Carolina. I do not drive so it's just my husband doing the driving.

Wow that's great!! We're leaving at 3am and hoping to make it mid NC for the night. I just can't imagine driving straight through.
Have you checked out the driving thread on transportation board?

16 Days! My family is even letting me talk to them about the trip now.:rotfl2:

That is funny, because I finally discussed some of the plans with my dh. I told him about the car show at Old Towne and he definately wants to go. Guess who was changing around ADR's this morning.
