What about the holding the looong note.....

aaaaaawwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy

Randy holding up his watch LOL!

Simon's facial expression were priceless. Paula was definitely sedated last night. I wonder if she is sick. She looks like she has gained alot of weight. (not that I am one to pass judgement on that, I am wondering if it is a side effect to any medication she may be on)

Did anyone else notice how many girls Mark McGrath was flirting with? I have already heard him state in an interview that he is a BIG ladies man. Gee, wonder why...he is HOT!

I am very curious to see what it going to happen with Constantine, the kid with his own rock'n'roll band. I can't wait to hear him sing something other than rock to see if he can do it.

OMG-What about that last woman! :earseek: Is she a multiple-personality or something? :earseek: She was really scary! :earseek: She 's on my home page today! :cool1:

I like the fact that Mark Mcgrath is a judge now, he is a hottie! :cool1:

This should be an exciting season! :wizard:

I just can't fathom how some of these people get it into their heads that they can sing?!!!? I mean, really, how can they possibly think that, I want to know! And saying that all their friends tell them they are a great singer (I think Mary said that), are there really that many delusional people out there?? It's just astounding to me. I can sing better than a lot of them, and I CAN'T sing! LOL I have to wonder if some of them made a bet with their friends that they'd go humiliate themselves on purpose... That would atleast make sense.

I think Regina sees this as a possible ticket away from her husband, I mean after all she pawned her wedding ring. Taking a look at him, I may not blame her, he didn't look like a very nice person (I could be wrong though).

Constantine...

Actually, he was just a guest judge. It looks like they will have many more. They listed them last night, but the only one I can remember is Gene Simmons.

Okay, I believe that most of the bad ones are staged. There was a girl in my husband's hometown that made the bad show last year. She knew she couldn't sing, but they were asking for bad people to audition too. So she did it just to be on TV. Another reason I feel they are staged is because the main judges don't see everyone. You have to get through a group of nobody judges before you are ever sent to the celebrity judges. If they didn't put those people through for show, then they would have never made it to the next level.

Did you notice that when they sent her through, she jumped up and down and threw a fit, but acted like she didn't really want to hug him when he put his arms around her. I can see his side as well. If you are dead broke, which it appears they are, and you have a family, they should come first. There is nothing for myself that I would be willing to sell my wedding rings for. I'd sell them in a minute if it were for something that my husband or daughter needed - like shoes, for instance. That poor child wasn't even wearing shoes last night.

To me, it looks like Paula has had some kind of plastic surgery. Her eyes looked like they've been done.

Mark was only a guest judge, he was only there for last night, I know I saw that LL Cool J is going to judge too.

OMG, Mary was a psycho! :earseek:
We were all just :rotfl: through the show. Too funny!

I flipped back and forth between AI and Amazing Race in the last hour.

Embarrassed that the one contestant Simon said "I never thought I'd say this, but your singing is WORSE than your clothes!" was from Toms River. I can just imagine running into these folks while we're shopping...

I think Regina will go pretty far. She has a decent voice, and now she has people routing for her, with her background story.

I'm hoping Mary Roach was a put-on. If not, and she has psychological problems, I don't think what they did to her was right.

I was flipping between AI and Biggest Loser so I'm not sure I saw Regina. Is she the black woman with the white husband and little girl? I flipped back as Simon asked this woman to bring in her husband and daughter but missed her singing. Is that Regina?

The one that had me laughing so much was the guy who tried to sing Josh Groban's (1st mistake - never, never sing a song by someone with an awesome voice) "You lift me up" but then couldn't remember the words.

That was a funny situation because they were all encouraging him and being kind to him. And I was routing for him to remember the words - holding my breath for him ("poor guy, he's so nervous"). And I just thought the whole ordeal was leading to something fruitful. But then when he did remember the words...he stank!

Does anyone get the feeling that they are looking for people with "stories" as much as talent. The judges made a couple of comments along those lines. Like they said something to the boxer girl - "we like that you're a boxer, but..." I think they liked that Regina's story as much as her voice.

Funny thing is, if they're looking for people with "stories" they should really raise the age limit. They'd get folks with stuff like "I've been bagging groceries for 20 years waiting for my big break." Or how about..."I've spent 25 years bailing my son out of jail and getting him through rehab. Time to do something for me." Can you imagine?

We laughed our butts off tonight! :earboy2:

So who thinks the rock band guy got in just because he's cute?

Uh, me. I was in the kitchen when he was on and I couldn't believe that he got in from what I heard--then I saw him and my exact comment to DH was "Oh, no wonder he got in."

My boyfriend and I were really excited about this season but were absolutely bored through the 2 hour premiere last night. We are hoping that tonight is better but I think we will be shutting it off a few minutes into it tonight.

I was wondering why Regina chose to sell her wedding rings over her CDs and Kareoke Machine? Just goes to show what she cares more about....unless those were worth more...she had a good voice but I don't think she will win, and then all that time not bringing in any $$ would have been for nothing.

My SIL works with Regina's father. They are a great family. She is just very sincere about her singing. I say GO REGINA. I will say I don't think she will be the winner. I think she will make one of the top 32 and maybe even wildcard. :smooth:

DFi said that Mary looks like a female Gilligan (from Gilligan's Island)

Yeah, all she needed was the hat - and bingo - Lady Gilligan. Good observation. :D
