Does anyone else think Mary did that on a dare or something? I remember one of the really bad ones last year turned out to be staged. It seemed like Mary was trying really hard to be really bad!

Please tell me it was staged...she seemed completely out-of-touch with those of us on planet earth.

I'm not convined it was a "show" though.

Who is Wil Garrity? The ending said the show was dedicated to him.

Regina...ok, she had a good voice and I understand the dream and all...but shouldn't she be working full time to keep her family going. Ok, maybe she is working full time but obviously now, she won't be bring money in and they really sound like they need it.

I don't know. It's great that she's going on, esp. if AI picks up everything from here on it, but at what expense (spell checker...) is she following her dream??

I haven't laughed this much in a while! LOL Love the first show of the season. :earboy2:

I think they should have "Toni Braxtons" cousin ( I think he is delusional also, I bet if they check he isn't even related) and Mary (the voice in her head chick) sing a duet. Might even have a chior there if you combine it with the 5.9% voice guy.

SECURITY!!!! Psycho in the HOUSE!!! :earseek:

You're not kidding!

I hope all the judges had security following them out -- she's likely to have been hiding in the bushes.

Ok, Mary was just scary...my first time watching the show so we'll see how this goes - shout out to the girl from Syracuse, my hometown! I liked her voice too, very smooth as I think Randy called it, very jazz like a lot and then Constantine...the show needed a little more rock 'n roll in my opinion - can't wait to see what happens tomorrow - my sister's right, this show is addicting...

We laughed our butts off tonight! :earboy2:

So who thinks the rock band guy got in just because he's cute?

Just saw that auditions next week are in STL. I'll have to tune in next week to see what happens. I don't remember them being here.
That's funny b/c my best friend lives in Missouri. Dh and I were joking tonight and said wouldn't it be funny if we saw her on AI tomorrow night during auditions. I hope not, b/c no offense to her but I have heard her sing...lol! :earboy2:

I liked the rock band guy! He's just going to have trouble keeping it low key enough.

Mary was incredible. Just her eyes!

You really don't get much rock and roll during the entire season, just to let you know.

Yep, that is for sure. On season 2 there was this rock n roll type named Patrick (I think) that I thought was really good. He made it to the top 36 (or whatever it is before the final 12), but didn't make it to the final contestants. I thought he was really good but apparently the majority of voters didn't. You will see a lot of country, R & B, and broadway types though. But not much Rock N Roll.

I was wondering why Regina chose to sell her wedding rings over her CDs and Kareoke Machine? Just goes to show what she cares more about....unless those were worth more...she had a good voice but I don't think she will win, and then all that time not bringing in any $$ would have been for nothing.

My three "bad" favs were, the guy in the purple singing somewhere over the rainbow and they were all looking at their watches to see how long he could hold the note.....5.9% choir guy....and Mary of course....I don't think it was an act, but if it was...she is a good actress cause her face was beet red when she started to cry (unless it was embarrassment cause she went through with it)

Can't wait for tonight's show!

How can you all forget about the girl that started it off with the AWFUL rendition of the Star Spangled Banner!!!!

Regina's husband seemed scary to me. :earseek: I think she might have a very good reason for selling her rings to the pawn shop, beyond the fact she wants to be discovered. He seemed like a wife beater to me....LOL! Just slightly judgemental, but hey, there you have it. I think she is hugely talented from what I heard last night....hope she makes it, and gets away from him!

What is Paula on? Was it just me, or did she seem sedated last night? And her face was so puffy! Randy looks odd, having lost all that weight.....he is one of those people who looked better chubby, imo. I did think Mark McGrath made a great guest host....he actually had some good advice for some of those people. Usually the guest host is there to just fluff up the contestants, but this guy actually offered constructive advice. Oh and I love Ryan Seacrist, but I love him way better as a blonde!

I have to agree, the husband was scary. :earseek:

I kind of liked Constatine, he was cute and his vioce was that bad. He just doesn't have that much range.

DS was laughing so hard at the woman without the bra. I thought he was going to pee his pants he was laughing so hard.

The girl that sang "Hanky Panky" had me laughing, especially when Mark McGrath said that she spanks good.

The thing is, this is her DREAM. Even if she does not make it all the way to the end of the show, if she can just make it to the final 12, more than likely, she will get the exposure she needs to make a career out of her singing. Alot of the AI finalists have record deals.

Once the singers are chosen to go to Hollywood, AI pays all the expenses. They only need to pay for the auditions. From now on, they all have a free ride.
