There's a group of cruisers who call their travel agent and say they want to go on a cruise next year. They don't specify which cruise line or ship, they don't specify itinerary, they don't specify amenities. They just say they want to try a cruise and they want something kid-friendly. Then their travel agent books something.Except many are going the other way and booking other cruise lines for fall next year before the other cruise lines prices rise.
So Disney is 100% missing out on bookings that these folks are making right now and creating opportunities for them to become loyal to a different line. Weird strategy from Disney IMO, especially if they're just focused on small, short-term tactical victories like filling their current itineraries that are underperforming.
