Official 2017 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!

I enjoyed the Tink 10K much better than the Disneyland 10K too. The lack of water stations really hurt.

I think that's what wrecked me for the DDD challenge two weeks ago.

I actually emailed the Race Director about the Disneyland 10K. It was easily one of the most poorly supported race courses I've ever run. Dropping the water station that's traditionally right after the Mile 1 marker was ridiculous - but there was NO med table on the course until MILE 5.5! That's just plain irresponsible, especially for a weekend that was incredibly humid.

DH and I are registered for the Tinkerbell 1/2 and our stay is booked at the Peacock Suites. Looking forward to my first race at DL and DH's first visit to DL!

I just did, too. Sigh....it's so beautiful. And those are totally my "happy colors." Getting harder and harder not to say yes to this weekend. Going solo ain't so bad right? I reaaaaaaalllllly want to go....need to sack up and plead a better case to the fam.

I'm really thinking of suggesting I go solo. But, it's Mother's Day weekend isn't it? Does it make me a bad mother to say for my Mother's Day gift I want to go away alone?

So they are offering Legacies guaranteed entry if they so wish! I checked my email though and nada. I'm a little disheartened about this. Even more so after the debacle at Tink this past year already. I suppose I'll give it a little more time and then contact them?

I'm really thinking of suggesting I go solo. But, it's Mother's Day weekend isn't it? Does it make me a bad mother to say for my Mother's Day gift I want to go away alone?

This was sooo me last year. But I went for it! A friend and I did the race and DH and the kids stayed home. And ya know what? It was a great mothers day gift to myself! My kids were fine with it! They gave me the gifts they made for me when I got home. Of course I missed them but it was only a 2 night trip. A well deserved 2 night trip! Now I know I can't/won't do it every year, but I'll definitely do it again!

I don't know, but I sure hope so!

Although ... I am getting very turned off about trying to keep my Legacy for this event and not getting to enjoy any of the "perks". My experiences with runDisney lately have not been positive.

I really like this artwork as well. Has a nostalgic feel to me for some reason. Of course, that's some of what has me really wanting to go to DL for a race. I just love the look of DL.

I should take this as a sign it's maybe time for me to take a break from runDisney for awhile. I've got 2 non-Disney events coming up (RNR and Ragnar) so maybe it's time to just focus my effort elsewhere. I dunno. It's been a few hours since my friend first mentioned the email to me. I suppose I'll email them and see what happens.

I'm legacy and I didn't get an email. But I also registered on Tues. with the other AP'ers.

I NEVER get any rD emails. Yes, I've called rD and they have all my correct info. Who knows why they do what they do.
