Official 2016 5th Anniversary Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!

Coast to Coast is automatic. When you pick up your packet and sign for your bib, there will be a line that you need to initial and they will give you a wristband. If it is not there, don't worry. Just go to the runner relations booth and they will look it up and give you a wristband. Piece of cake!

WHEW!

You know how you have freak outs about stuff you wouldn't normally? That was just me.

Thanks for 'talking me down' so to speak. LOL

I have no idea how to plan this trip. I am going to fly in on Friday for the east coast. On Saturday I will pick up my race stuff and relax and DD will fly in from the east coast. Sunday morning run and then we want to get a 3 day hopper (I think..or should we just get one park a day) pass and use it Sunday-Tuesday. We have no idea how to tour DL CA. I actually grew up in CA and this was the park I grew up in. but it has changed..oh dear and so have I.
I am looking online for info from other sites..do we really need reservations for dining?

And for the Tink veterans, tell me about the course...fun parts, boring parts, etc...

Thanks in advance!

I'd get a hopper. The parks are so close together (like walking across the street to get from one park to another) that it's really nice to have a hopper.

I did make dining reservations. People say you don't need them, but I like having them...with the race going on + locals coming in during the weekend it might get busy. Mother's Day might be tough too (biggest eating out day of the year and all that).

I've never done the races before but I know that these courses are generally thought of as the "best" ones out of the California races (lots of park time) so I'm looking forward to that.

We went December of 2014 right before Christmas. I had never been to California Adventure so that's where we went first. When we saw a 15 minute wait for Soarin I think our eyes bugged out. But then we saw a 2 hour wait for Racer and were like ok...we know this haha. DL and CA are both still on the paper fastpass system so work that into your plans. Everything is so much closer together, especially DL. It has it's pros and cons. I love that they still have some of the original rides like Mr. Toad! The only place I really thought I need a reservation for was Blue Bayou. Other than that, I saw many openings day of. The sit down restaurants inside the hotels might need reservations. I think Ariel's might too, but don't hold me to that since we didn't eat there. I felt like I could've walked up to Wine Country Trattoria. World of Color is amazing, so is Fantasmic is DL and the parades. Things are different, like rides, but some are much better at DL! We had a 5 minute wait for Under the Sea and rode it 5 times! Crazy! People were complaining about a 40 minute wait and I'm all like :sad2: and doing the happy dance.

I don't think there's a specific way to do those parks. You can literally live one and be at the other in 5 minutes. Just do everything you can and take it all in! Look for the light in the window about the Firehouse on Main Street, that used to be Walt's apartment.

So Crossroad House of Blues does Gospel Singing every other Sunday...how do I know if mother's day is the Sunday they sing...My DD loves gospel, she sang in a gospel choir at college. And this is her first Mother's day as "sort of a mother" next year she will be a mother. This is a mother/daughter thing we are doing before the baby comes and I want it to to relaxed and special. She is not running.
You all may get tired of me..I think I am going to have lots of questions.
This race wan't even on my radar..two weeks ago

Boo. I've been sick the last 3 days so I haven't been on the computer. WOC packages weren't open earlier in the week but they are now and of course WCT is booked for Mothers day already. I'm bummed. I'll keep checking to see if anyone cancels their ressie.

The dates JUST opened on the calendar this morning, but they've not had any times associated with them yet ... so don't be bummed just yet! Trust me - I've been refreshing every 30 minutes since about 7 a.m. CST this morning for WOC, PTN and the WOC Dessert Party.

Oh yay! Thank you so much for telling me that! I'll keep checking then!
