Official 2015 Disneyland Half Marathon Thread.

I have just read through all 74 pages, wow! I signed up for DDD shortly after completing the dopey challenge this year so I am looking forward to the C2C medal.
I will not be arriving until Friday afternoon so I hope there will be some merch. left. would really like to get an I did it if they are in cotton. Is it just me or should they sell these after the 1/2 on Sunday? I have a thing about buying completion shirts before actually completing the event. Look forward to chatting and seeing some of you over the weekend!

Welcome Travisx4 to the DDD. We are also arriving Friday afternoon and understand it might be slim pickings at the expo by then. I don't have an issue with wearing race shirts on race days.....makes it easier for photos.......but totally with you on the completion shirts.....just not comfortable acquiring the shirt until the deed is done. HOWEVER--I ran Dopey this year and saw the "I did it" shirts at the Expo and didn't pick one up. Once I completed Dopey on Sunday, wanted to get the shirt but no luck finding one.

It's going to be a great weekend!!

@Keels, I will hopefully run into you race weekend as I also decided to do the dopey again for next year. I did not think I would ever do this again but then I read @Ariel484 trip report and realized how much fun the event was. Wow I'm impressed that you read every page! Welcome to the group.

I completely agree about the 'I did it' shirts. Part of the reason I'm not that interested in them is because I refuse to buy one before 'I've done it' and I know that there will be none left afterwards lol!

There are a lot of people that feel the same way. You'd think that Disney would be smart enough to set up a tent in the finish area after bag check where people could buy the shirts. As much as they love to separate people from their money, this seems like a no-brainer.

PHM weekend, they had a Merchandise tent set up in the post-race area with whatever leftover stuff they hadn't sold which included "I Did It" shirts for the half marathon. Unfortunately they were out of the GSC shirts, but was told that they could print one on a white or grey shirt at the truck next to the tent. Maybe rD is wising up. Maybe they will start doing this at all the races.

I agree though, I would much rather buy and "I did it" shirt once I've actually done it. It was really hard for me to buy the Dopey I Did It...because I seriously didn't know if I would be able to make it through.

I saw someone wearing a Dopey "I did It" shirt last year during a race. Had a nice view of the back of the shirt for a little while and ended up talking to the guy about Dopey.
Probably what planted the seed in my mind to go ahead and sign up.

Not sure what RunDisney is thinking, but seems like more shirts would benefit everyone.

This year at Tinkerbell the cotton "I Did It " shirts were not as popular they had lots of them. I agree buy a shirt that say's that before no good. But I did get one brought it home okay to wear with jeans. The interesting thing a couple of days ago I got a email from Disney offering a bunch of shirts and stuff. They did have some I Did it shirts as well. I was hoping for the wine glass but no luck. I have seen a couple on ebay prices crazy! I will not go that route! My keepsakes must be bought at the expo to mean anything. Well I have sounded off enough on this eBay thing! Hope I get luck to get a wine glass in September. Seeing this is the first time for me running Dumbo ,and the fact it will be my husband's time running Disney. He has only ran a 10k but I have him in training for DDD. It excited about this! I hope Disney looked at how fast the merchandise went and they limit the limits.

Maybe that's what they're going for... extra motivation to actually do it once you've bought the shirt :rotfl:

I already felt that World of Color is a MUST-SEE at Disneyland after seeing it last year.

I just watched the videos from the media event of the NEW World of Color for DL's 60th. What's greater than MUST-SEE? Because that's what it is now.

More than all the feels.

I would encourage any of y'all making your first voyage to DL to find time to see World of Color.

My husband proposed at WOC. It holds a very special place in my heart :goodvibes That's why I'm hoping to do the CC package. I'm still debating whether to watch the youtube videos of that and the new fireworks or not!

I would also encourage people to see it (as much as I'd prefer people didn't so it wasn't as crowded lol!). My parents didn't care much for F!, but both loved WOC.

I'm with you on F! - I didn't even see it at DLR because I've seen it about 100x at WDW and even then, it's only with people who have never seen it before. I skipped F! in favor of seeing the fireworks (and Dumbo flying!) and WoC on my two nights at the parks. WoC did not disappoint - I cried like a baby!

Lol! It's my parents who didn't care for F!, not me ;) I love both! I've heard it's a lot better at DLR, maybe you should give it a try sometime? :duck:

I would definitely skip F! for WOC though if you only have the chance to do one or the other.

My bad - read too fast! I'm with your parents on F! Ha!

I'm actually thinking I'll check it out if they doing a showing before the Anniversary Party starts ... since I'll already be there! I'm just looking forward to Paint the Night!!!!!!

Good idea! I can't wait for PTN either! I hope we can get a decent spot without going to the anniversary party.

I just can't wait for Disneyland in general! Husband got "in trouble" with me the other day and I told him that I wanted him to arrange a summer trip to the home office again so I can go to Disneyland. "I think that can be arranged," is what he told me. So, he's not grounded anymore!

I am all over those new A&A bracelets! They will look very nice next to my WDW ones.

I am super excited to catch the DLR shows/parades. I am avoiding watching the videos so I can be super surprised when I get there!!
