Not totally sure what I think yet. Need to see in person to decide...though if I find the letter carrier in the top picture (all the way to the left) with that EXACT placement...it will be mine.![]()
Ermagerd. That wallet in the second picture. And I'm not a Dooney girl at all ...
First trip for me as well...eh, technically second, but the first time I was a toddler. So for all intents and purposes, first trip. This is exactly how my plans look as of now. Throw in a baseball game Friday night and take out the 5K. I did find out that my hotel has bottomless mimosa breakfast/brunch on Sundays...so there's that. It's our first trip to California...ever, and I really want to spend a couple of hours at the beach and at least see the Hollywood sign. So many decisions, so little time. I'm too worried about Wine and Dine ADR's bc that will come up before anything DL.
Ugh, right? And I JUST ordered that Haunted Mansion satchel from the Disney Store website (due to be delivered tomorrow!!You know I just nearly squealed in my office right? Not to wait on the DL Half prints to decide where my money is going. Just take all my money Disney...take it all.
I don't love the blue leather ones...but that wallet has pretty perfect pattern placement. Alliteration. PPPPYES YES YES! I'm loving that wallet too!

Husband and I have a California trip planned for December, so September is 100% Disneyland.![]()
And, excuse me - BOTTOMLESS MIMOSA BRUNCH?! Where do I sign up???![]()
Thirdly, just wanted to say that we never got to the Cove Bar last year (after hearing all about what a great place it was to hang out at) because there was ALWAYS a line to get in. Didn't matter what time of day it was, what day. It just always had a line and we could never be bothered. Does this happen to everyone else too? How long does it take to get in?
Wouldn't do that to you Keels, you are too nice. I'm sure you will have a better look at the C2C gear than we will, not getting to the expo until that Friday afternoon.
How did you do with your recent 10k?

zanzibar138, I've never seen the Cove Bar without a line. We've waited up to 45 minutes. I'm a passholder, so it doesn't really cut into any vacation time for me. My daughter and I like the lobster nachos, so we wait. We've been pulled to the front several times because a table for 2 opens up much more than one for a party of 6. I think people tend to linger because they serve alcohol. You can do take out, but I don't think the food would travel that well.
Ugh, right? And I JUST ordered that Haunted Mansion satchel from the Disney Store website (due to be delivered tomorrow!!). I really hope I hate the Disneyland Half Marathon print...then again I did flip out over this year's marathon print, pre-ordered it, and ended up having buyer's remorse later. Sold it on Facebook for just about $10 less than I paid, so at least that option is there!

(I actually did end up waking up on time and making it to that 5:15AM strength training class I mentioned a few days back - which I liked! - and I think I'm getting a little loopy from lack of good sleep last night.)
We are staying at Hotel Menage. They have a tiki bar and also a restaurant. Looks like a breakfast buffet and bottomless mimosas for $10 (not including buffet) http://www.hotelmenage.com/meetings-events/american-tavern
I never had a hard time getting into the Cove Bar both days I was there last summer ... BUT, keep in mind that I was ridin' solo - so it was much easier for me to squeeze in at the bar than it is for a larger party. I think I walked past it one time and there was a line of about 5-6 people and they wouldn't let me go to the bar by myself (there were solo seats and the bar is opening seating, but whatever. It's their call.). I walked down to Sonoma Terrace, got me a beer for the wait in line, and by the time I got back to Cove Bar, there was no line and the bar seating area was half empty.
It all really depends on when you go, though, too. I usually went after lunch but well before dinner - think like 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. I tend to favor abnormal dining times, or would prefer to just snack all day long, so I'm usually in restaurants at odd/off times.
I'm looking forward to exploring all the fun bars in DCA and the hotels this time around, since it's just a short stumble back to the hotel instead of a hefty drive back to Santa Monica!
Easter 10K was good - thanks for asking!!! It was untimed and small, but it was my first real run since the half marathon and since I started working out hard. I could definitely tell a difference! I'm shooting for a good finish in my May 10K and that will be my proof of time for DLH. Here's hoping!
The Hollywood sign, I'm almost positive you can see on your way in and out of LAX. On a short trip like this (and if you're really planning a second trip), I wouldn't waste time even traveling into Hollywood. Unless you're going to see a TV show taping or something, it's pretty gross, overcrowded and full of tourists with very little to do. I only went because I had VIP tickets to a taping of "So You Think You Can Dance", and I took an Uber instead of driving - and thank goodness I did that! Between the traffic and trying to find a parking spot, ugh. No thanks.
On a clear day, you can see the Hollywood sign from lots and lots of places! Also, plan on it taking at least an hour to get to that area from Anaheim.
That looks really nice! That brunch sounds like a bargain. We are hoping to do a Cali trip fall 2016 but will most likely not head back to LAX area.

I'm so excited! But nervous - mine is supposed to be delivered today, and we're having thunderstorms...so I know I'm going to come home to a socked-through cardboard box on my porch. So jealous! Those Haunted Mansion Dooneys are my absolute fave!
Thanks!Glad to hear your class went well![]()
I'm pretty sure brunch is my favorite meal, and that's because of mimosas!!!
Just my $.02 -- as far as beaches go, both Huntington Beach AND Newport Beach are beautiful and are about 25 minutes or so from Disneyland. We stay in Santa Monica, right off the pier (that's where my husband's corporate office is), and it's also a very fun (but VERY BUSY!) beach. It will take you about an hour each way from Anaheim to Santa Monica, though.

And I'm with you on the Wine & Dine ADRs. I really just want BoG - but I also want to know the special F&W events/parties so I can plan for those!
I've always been tempted to try the Hotel Menage. I'll be interested to hear what you think about it.
It must depend where you're coming from. I've always been on the lookout for it coming into LAX and not seen it on any of our trips so far. We're usually coming from the west, but I've also come at it from the east (from Dallas) and from the north (Portland) and not had any luck.
I wouldn't bother to make a special trip to see it. Having said that, this will be my 4th trip to Anaheim and I still have absolutely zero desire to see anything in LA/Hollywood. We did go to Universal on our first trip, and we actually saw the Hollywood sign from the tour bus. That's good enough for me lol!
Brunch is the BEST!! Thanks for the beach tips! If we book the flight that I've been watching, we will arrive around noon Wednesday (LAX) and though about renting a car at the airport, driving to the beach for a couple of hours, returning the car to the airport then taking Super Shuttle to the hotel.
Girl ... you will LOVE the beaches in Cali. They will spoil you! And I say that as a girl that grew up in Florida, went to Destin every year and has been all over the Caribbean. Give me a Cali beach any day. PLUS - the weather? OMG. The weather.
If you're driving from LAX to any of the beaches (either over to Santa Monica - which is NOT far from the airport, BTW! Maybe 25 minutes in light traffic! - or down to the Newport/Huntington Beach area - about an hour in light traffic), you can plan a path so you can see the Hollywood sign (albeit, from a distance, but still!).
And if you want to treat your beer-lovin' hubby to a meal with great craft beer around Santa Monica, I can give you some recommendations!
@Keels DH will not put down his untapped app today!
Ran the Go St.Louis Half today: was on pace for a 2:05 finish until about mile 9 then my calf started killing me: my body is telling me, time for a break. I have one more half on the calendar before DL. DH passed me and beat his and my PR today. A 2:09:37 finaih for me.
Has anyone ever run across a long bridge during a race before? That was the strangest feeling when I could literally feel the bridge moving below my feet. At first I though I was about to fall out. What an experience!
