Oh ya, the black toenails are fun. :crazy2:

I had real trouble with that when I was training for my first full although I couldn't keep them on long enough for the new ones to grow in under them before they fell off so I was always down a few nails at any given time. Gross. :faint:

Try a bigger shoe (I have to run in a full size bigger for a half and a size and a half for a full marathon) and one with a larger toe box. Some of us princesses are more prone to nail issues.

Have to laugh.... Trolling through old Facebook posts and came across an October, 2010 post that had me proudly proclaiming that I had just run ...... Four miles! Here I am, just over 2 years later, having done tons of 10 Ks and in training for my 5th and 6th half marathons. So grateful for all the support I had along the way! Hang in there, new princesses! You can do this!

I must be on Facebook too much cause I am looking for a way to like this! Its fun to see how far you will get in your trainging if you stick with it.

I graduated PT!!!!!!! Wooooo!!!! And with my beloved Vibrams!!!!

I'm up to 5 miles in my re-training without IT pain. Shooting for 6 tomorrow. Time to double-down on the pixie dust!!!!!
Such good news - congrats!!!
I'm getting ready to try 7 right now and my whole ITBS leg is tight... I'm scared! :worried:

Awesome! Here's hoping that the rest of our ITBS sufferers follow suit and are back on the road in no time flat!

:thumbsup2
Amen to that!

I'm back after an extended break! I've been busy getting my life back in order. And running, of course!

Does anyone have any great costume ideas for Giselle or Megara? I don't want to wear a tutu at all, and I want a less common costume than the usual princesses.
How about a white top, white sparkley skirt, white sparkley arm warmers and a tiara for Giselle?

Megara would be cute, but I'm afraid all the purple might be thought of as Rapunzel.

So thinking something like...

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009PSNHBC...e=asn&creative=395105&creativeASIN=B009PSNHBC

With a dark purple sash and a purple sparkle skirt or running skirt

http://store.runningskirts.com/sparkle-hearts-running-skirt-940

or

Add the hair up in the updo thingy like Megara and some gold accents on the shirt with material or metals if you want to get fancy.

I'm kinda bummed--I got a pink Garmin for Christmas, but now there's a lot of snow/yuck on the ground and I'd rather run on the TM than fall on ice. So, my Garmin sits there on the counter looking lonely. :-(

I did manage to revamp my training plan (tried out the RW Smartcoach thing) and got started.

Tried Gu today...I couldn't even swallow it. The consistency did me in. So, crossing that off the list. Hoping I find something that I can tolerate.

Jelly Belly makes a great energy jelly bean. Dh and I love them, pop one every 1/2-1 mile during our runs. Taste great. I don't like the squeeze pouches they gave out during the Wine and Dine.....yech!

Having the same problem here in Chicago. It's like 30* and I am staring at my running shoes trying to decide if it's better to gear up and freeze my *** off or be bored to tears on the indoor track. So far, the net result is me sitting in front of my computer.

Love it!!! When I feel down about a run, I look back at my old RunKeeper activites and see where I was a year or so ago and feel much better.

Yay!!! Congrats!
I hope your training is pain free from here on out.
My IT band is call for the foam roller after my 8 miles today. UGH!

8 miles after IT pain is AWESOME!!!!!!!

Just had to share - I DID IT, 7 miles with no pain! I walked the first mile to warm up, spent miles 2-5 alternating 1/2 mile walk with 1/2 mile :45/2:00 run/walk intervals, did the same run/walk intervals all of mile 6, and ran almost all of mile 7. Finished strong and and smiling with an avg pace of 14:00/mile. Much slower than I'd like, but my goal right now is to stay healthy until the race. :thumbsup2

Congrats on the pain free run! I'm with you on the pace and hoping after my Doc visit 7 Jan I will have better breathing ( really thinking I could have the exercised induced asthma too...cold weather here in San Antonio is making my lungs hurt just a little more). Running coach assured me doing the mileage is more important than the pace right now.

My pink Garmin is lonely too....until I see the Doc I will be on the TM with my Hawaii five O guys to keep me company:worship:

Well done!!!!

All of us gimps are gearing up and getting ready!!!

Hello!

I will be running the Princess Marathon in February. I am a military spouse living overseas and will be running alone. I am a wife, mother of two, and a teacher! I want to run the race at a 12 min or less pace. Any groups or anyone out there who needs a partner? :hippie:

Thanks

Hello! Did you find a partner yet? This is my first one and I am running alone too.

Thanks, I am pretty sore today. I did my 8 on an indoor track yesterday due to the snow yesterday made the roads to slick to run. I felt like a hampster. Round & Round & Round. 8 laps = 1 mile. I wish I could find a bigger track.

Great job on getting the miles in!!!

Mine's the same size and I lose my mind. Sometimes they are playing basketball in the gym underneath or I would go when my boys had indoor flag football i there and watch, but basically I am like a caged animal.

I opted for outside today. It was only 30* and I ran in 22* last weekend so I figured I'd give it a shot. Originally I was going to do 6 miles today but I couldn't get motivated so I told myself to get out there and do what you can given the cold and everything. I figured at least 1-2 miles was better than nothing. 2 became 3 which turned into 5.2. It wasn't my best pace but I ran the whole thing which I haven't been able to do in ages (usually I stop and walk a bit in between). In the last mile, I could feel a little strain on my knee but not too bad really and it's fine now. So I'm calling it progress. I figure that if I can at least run most of the 13.1 and then my IT band gimps out on me, I should be able to walk/run it in and stay under pace.

A hampster exactly !!!!! I dragged DH to the University track for 13 miles today and even though we are on a outdoor track I also feel like a hampster going round and round. But a least there is a real bathroom to use if needed. So I rather feel like a hampster who can "flush" than the alternative. :rotfl:

That is awesome that you did 5.2!!! Some times I have to play major mind games with myself just to get out there. Plus with all the junk I have eaten over the past week I need to run 13.1 every day. LOL!!!

Okay ladies - here comes a TMI question for you

So today I went 16kms in the freezing cold (yes, thank you - I got off my tutu and went out there in below freezing temps to run) and I when I got my gear on I forgot to change out of my cotton panties. The grandest of oops moments if ever there was one! LOL! I know better then to run in cotton anything but I had a serious blond moment apparently.

So....anyways....

Well needless to say I am missing a large amount of skin in areas I don't want to be missing large amounts of skin. :faint:

I got in the shower when I got home and thought I was going to pass out from the pain of the water hitting me.

So....long story short, I'm not wearing panties for the rest of the day (I warned you it was a tmi situation) but I'm wondering if any of you have any advice on how to heal this little issue I have going on here with great speed.

I'm in agony over here people!

Ouch!!!! Do you have any coconut oil? It's pretty much a miracle worker. It is not only a natural lubricant, but anti-fungal and has some amazing curative properties. Even works on YIs. My boys come to me with owies and they ask "Are you going to put coconut oil on it?" I would probably start there because it's gentle as well as effective. Don't need anything else that's going to sting. OW!!!!!!!!
