Ouch!!!! Do you have any coconut oil? It's pretty much a miracle worker. It is not only a natural lubricant, but anti-fungal and has some amazing curative properties. Even works on YIs. My boys come to me with owies and they ask "Are you going to put coconut oil on it?" I would probably start there because it's gentle as well as effective. Don't need anything else that's going to sting. OW!!!!!!!!

YES! I have coconut oil! Why didn't I think of that? I love that stuff - it fixes everything - and is fun to play with too.

It is!! I love the stuff in a way that I probably shouldn't admit in public. DH calls it my Windex (from My Big Fat Greek Wedding).

I never thought about not wearing cotton panties. I have only ever worn cotton panties when I run. They are a cotton/spandex blend but mostly cotton. I checked after reading this. I've never had any problems. Have I just been lucky? I don't know why I haven't thought of this before. Everything else is tech down to my socks.

I love that! Your DH is hilarious! *slinking off to rub coconut oil on some very, very sore places*

I wish I had gotten away with it today. I'm suffering in a way no woman ever should. LOL!

I also am a cotton blend panty girl with everything else a "wicking" material. What is the best thing to wear veteran runners ?

Nada....zip....zero....commando! :)

My "tech" running panties are from Moving Comfort. They cost about $16.00 or so and can get them at Running Wearhouse or even the Moving Comfort site.

The have 3 different styles and not only are they moisture wicking but also has mesh areas to keep you cool and comfy.

I really like them so much I want to get a few more to wear even when I'm not running.

Hope this helps.

I wear tech undies from lululemon that feel like cotton but are wicking. Called the foxy girlshort i think? They feel like air and I love how they are cottony but keep me dry.

I'm obsessed with coconut oil too!!! I buy it in 54oz tubs from vitacost.com!

A hampster exactly !!!!! I dragged DH to the University track for 13 miles today and even though we are on a outdoor track I also feel like a hampster going round and round. But a least there is a real bathroom to use if needed. So I rather feel like a hampster who can "flush" than the alternative. :rotfl:
Yes not going in a port a potty make the hampster wheel worth it :rotfl:

Okay ladies - here comes a TMI question for you

So today I went 16kms in the freezing cold (yes, thank you - I got off my tutu and went out there in below freezing temps to run) and I when I got my gear on I forgot to change out of my cotton panties. The grandest of oops moments if ever there was one! LOL! I know better then to run in cotton anything but I had a serious blond moment apparently.

So....anyways....

Well needless to say I am missing a large amount of skin in areas I don't want to be missing large amounts of skin. :faint:

I got in the shower when I got home and thought I was going to pass out from the pain of the water hitting me.

So....long story short, I'm not wearing panties for the rest of the day (I warned you it was a tmi situation) but I'm wondering if any of you have any advice on how to heal this little issue I have going on here with great speed.

I'm in agony over here people!
I feel so bad for you. My "windex" is Aquaphor. I use it on my chaped had and it was awesome on my kids diaper issues when they were babies too.
I hope you get better fast.

Thanks, I am pretty sore today. I did my 8 on an indoor track yesterday due to the snow yesterday made the roads to slick to run. I felt like a hampster. Round & Round & Round. 8 laps = 1 mile. I wish I could find a bigger track.

I'm jealous of your 8 laps. The track at my gym is 1 mile= 18.5 laps!!! There's no way I can do that. I tried walking a mile on it yesterday and was so dizzy I gave up after .5 mile and went on the treadmill.

Love that princesses can talk about ANYTHING! Thanks to whoever suggested compression tights. I wore them after my walk under leggings- much less fatigue in my legs, not to mention how warm & cozy they felt. I feel much better about my training now. Good to know about the coconut oil too. Got some in my pantry- have been using it as a facial moisturizer this winter!

I've never given any thought to the panties that I wear while running! But then again I've never had any issues so I guess I'll just stick with what I've been doing!

Can you ladies do me a favor and look at the WDW website and see if your resort reservations booked through runDisney show up? I posted a thread in the main WISH forum but it wasn't getting any answers when I last looked. WShat I'm trying to find out is if runDisney reservations just don't show up on the website or if it's because of the problems with the new site. My Everest reservations never showed up on the website though and I made them the day before the new website took over. I know the reservation is there because I've called back and I have the emails showing payment. I just hate that they aren't on the website because my OCD mind needs them to be there.:lmao:

I just spoke to someone at the Disney Sporting Reservations (or whatever they are called) to confirm my reservation, pay my balance, and ask her why I couldn't get the reservation to show up on my WDW website account.

She told me that since the reservations had been made through a third party (even though that third party is still an arm of Disney) they could not be linked to the website.

Bummer, though. I like to have everything in one place, too! (I use TripIt, and highly recommend it, but it would be nice if it were on the Disney site...)

I hate the stupid indoor track. I only use it for short runs though. I think my plan for the winter is - 1 short run on the indoor track doing speed work, 1 short run on the treadmill doing a hill workout (assuming the treadmills in the university gym has a programmable options like that), and then my long run outside on the weekend. I'm flexible to long runs on Sat or Sun, so I'm hoping I won't have to do too many long runs indoors.

It's really a pain to keep up with distance inside. My GPS doesn't work in there, so I have to manually count. :rolleyes2 It makes the zoning out harder.

Congrats on the pain free run! I'm with you on the pace and hoping after my Doc visit 7 Jan I will have better breathing ( really thinking I could have the exercised induced asthma too...cold weather here in San Antonio is making my lungs hurt just a little more). Running coach assured me doing the mileage is more important than the pace right now.
Thanks! And that's totally my thought - just do the distance and don't make my ITBS act up. If I feel like going all-out on race day, so be it - I can take the next month off if necessary - but I must stay unhurt until then!

Fabulous!
Thanks!
Well done!!!!

All of us gimps are gearing up and getting ready!!!
::yes:: :banana:

ITA, generally speaking - if the running shorts/tights/capris have a built-in liner, I don't add anything underneath. Except when it's cold - I really could've used an extra layer yesterday to keep my cranky glutes warmer but opted not to endure visible panty lines and went commando.

:thumbsup2 I just ordered a second, full-length pair of CW-X Pro's, i lvoe my capris so much! Full tights = one less item (calf sleeves) to think about on race day. Plus I had a 20% off coupon, lol!

Thank you!!! I kind of guessed that but the CM at Sports Travel that I asked the first time said she wasn't sure why it wasn't going to the website and maybe it was because of the new site problems and the 2nd one I talked to just didn't know the answer. I didn't want to keep trying if it was just never going to happen anyway. But yes, it is annoying that it can't all be in one place!

I don't know guys- I was able to link my reservation made through a TA through the website. I can't adjust or pay on it, but I can see it and have a countdown! This was for the princess trip. I just added it with the confirmation number. It asked how I made it as well, and then it magically appeared. :)
