Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

Thinking I'll check Target and Old Navy for Halloween t-shirts or something. Has anyone seen any cute ones at either store?

You can find some good ones online - why not order ahead of time and bring them with you or have them shipped right to your hotel? That way you have less running around to do.

Well, we've decided to go on Sunday the 16th - DH has even agreed to go! :cheer2:

Question: If I buy the tickets for Will Call, can I pick them up at my resort? Or do I have to go to a ticket booth?

Thanks.

We are going on Nov. 1st. This will be the first time at the party for me, and the first time at WDW for my bf. Very exciting!

We're not planning to dress up, simply because of time constraints. We arrive on 11/1 at 10:30. Not sure how long it takes to get to AKL from the airport on Magical Express, but we have a 2:30 ADR at the Garden View Tea Room. I figure we'll head straight to MK from there. Thinking I'll check Target and Old Navy for Halloween t-shirts or something. Has anyone seen any cute ones at either store?

This is a great thread. Thanks for all the tips! :thumbsup2

I got a vampire Mickey shirt on sale at Disney Store for DSis. :-)

Hey everyone! We just booked our trip last night for oct 15-19
DH suprised us! :lovestruc We are going to purchase tix to MNSSHP on 10/16 tonight. Last year when we bought the MNSSHP tix online we were able to print the tickets right then. This year it looks like Disney isn't doing that and you have to pick them up at will-call if there isn't time for the tix to be mailed to you. Does anyone know if we can pick up the tix at will-call at MK before the day of the event or do they have to be picked up the day of? TIA

You can print them, I did it a couple of days ago.

Congrats on the last-minute trip -- that's awesome! :cool1:

leaving in a few days and the weather does not look good. Have tickets for MNSSHP, does it take place rain or shine and if it does do the characters still come out for pictures in the rain? It is the one thing we are looking forward to most and would be very depressed if the weather interferes.

Okay I'm totally rethinking my plans now that everyone says to not eat after 6pm. I currently have reservations for the Barbershop at 5pm and Crystal Palace at 6pm. I could reschedule both to another date. Any advice? Keep it or defiantly change it.

I would change them to another day.

Not sure if this has been reported yet:

The signs up around the resort are listing the monorail as running til 12:30 AM on party nights, now.

I asked one of the Monorail CM's tonight and she said it was a recent change based on the amount of customer complaints that poured in.

Rain or shine, basically. The only thing they will postpone for is, usually, a tropical event (rain and wind) or SEVERE storm.

We're in the same boat: Party on the 11th. No other options for us.

Just an FYI: We were in Town Hall for another Customer Service issue and heard at least 3 conversations with CM's about changing tickets for tonights party for another one. They were all refused and told that, unless there is an official rain out, they couldn't exchange them.

If you are at a party that has shows, fireworks or a parade cancelled for bad weather, stop by guest relations to see if they can do anything. I know we were at a party last December that had some shows cancelled for severe cold and some people were given tickets to the party 2 days later. We had a great time and didn't need additional tickets, but thought some of you might like to file the information away just in case.

Remember....... bad weather = lesser crowds. So give it a go!

It's about time they figured that out. I knew it was going to be a mess, so why did it take them as long as it did to figure it out?

Better late than never I guess.......

That is great news! Thank you so much for the info! That will make DH feel better, he likes to have it all in order before we leave. Actually, he likes for me to have it all in order before we leave  Thanks again!

Just got home from a fabulous week at WDW! Went to MNSSHP Thursday, October 6. Much more crowded than we're used to (but we usually go in Sept). Still lots of candy and good chocolate candy. Only got raisins at Riverboat and they were in a separate barrel so you could skip if you want.

Got two enhanced photos, but there was no Photopass person for hitchhiking ghosts until later in the night.

For anyone who has already gone to the party and had pix taken...did you get party borders in Photopass? I haven't seen any this year and there have always been special borders in the past.

Also nice to see Photopass photographers with some of the Villains after the mix and mingle.

Seems tight. You don't have a lot of time to get from place to place. Are you planning to meet any of the villains after the show? Who are you planning to see in Town Square Theater -- lines for the princesses are averaging 45 minutes. Mickey is a separate line. The parade starts in Frontierland and ends on Main Street, so I don't think you'll make it to Tomorrowland for Stitch that fast.

Even with relatively short lines i'm not sure this is do-able.

I'd go with improbable. Taking a 15 minute TOT break is kind of difficult because they are all over the park so it is more of a thing you can do on your way from one spot to another. And the wait times for these characters may be quite a bit longer than you are giving them time for. Good luck!! Try not to worry too much and have fun :thumbsup2

Sooooo glad to hear the monorail will be running until 12:30. I was getting a little stressed as to how we would get back to the Poly as we have never been before.

Also, I see in some of the posts above that some are planning "steps" or an order of operations to do things in the party. As newbies, should I figure out a game plan to our night as well? I subscribe to touring plans and will have a game plan for when we visit the parks each day but didn't really think about doing the same for MNNSHP. What are everyone's thoughts on having a plan for the Party? We are going on Tues 10/25.

I would switch the Advertureland Veranda and the Hub. The lines around the Veranda area are really quick around 7 as most are either going for 7 Dwarfs, Capt. Jack, or the princesses. Also the characters around the hub don't necessarily start right around 7, it was almost 7:30 the two nights I went for the first set to start.

I think you will find to have more time on your hands if you make the switch, plus being around the hub around the time of the Mix and Mingle will give you a better opportunity to get in line there.
