Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

Anyone know where I can find out about Oct 11th's party? Or any info on how crowded? Haven't checked in a while.

Me and my family were planing to do:

6:10 crystal palace meeting pooh and friends
7:00 haunted mansion
7:30 adventureland
11:50 trick or treat

Do you know if we would have time for
Honestly to make the most of the party you'd need to drop the CP meal. If you have a 6:10 ADR you are never going to make it out by 7. They seem to run quite late on party nights with guests trying to linger. If you do HM @ 6:15 you can exit and line up for the special hearse pic which usually starts by 6:45 and then be at the adventureland characters by 7 which would free up some earlier time to trick or treat. By past 11:30 we have found some treat lines closed in the past and/or out of good candy. They seem to add boxes of good candy to the tops of bins and then under it's mostly smarties and other less melty generic hard candy. At some parties they hand out extra candy at the exit but you never know.

The only info you will get is that if there are still tickets for sale, then it's not sold out. They don't make any other info available.

What time do you think is good for dinner the night of the party? I currently have 2 ADRs for LTT. One is at 4:10 and the other is at 5:25. Do you think 5:25 is too late? As you mentioned, I'm worried that we will be seated late if we do the 5:25 reservation.

Is the mickey and minnie meet and greet open during the party? I want to get a picture of mickey and minnie but in their normal outfits not characters in their halloween outfit

I don't think Mickey and Minnie will be doing a wardrobe changes during the night! Once they change into their costumes, I'd imagine they'd probably just want to stay in them. :)

Many will tell you NOT to eat between 4p and 7p nor during the party either (which I agree with) to get the most out of the party BUT I am one of those who likes to eat before the party, at MK, anywhere between 4p and 5:30p. I get there early to check in and most restaurants at MK don't take more than an hour to an hour and 1/2 to be done. I don't like stopping for counter service during the party either. Eating a sit down dinner before the official start is what we like to do.

I am eating at 5p at Tony's.

This will be our 3rd MNSSHP. We have reservations at LTT for 4pm and then we get the kids dressed in their costumes. It is so fun watching the people stream into the park in their costumes so I wouldn't want to miss any of it eating dinner. We snack later in the evening when watching the fireworks and the traditional Dole Whip when watching the parade. We are going on Halloween.... CAN'T WAIT!!:yay:

I've heard reports that on occasion in the past the Liberty Belle is used for a "haunted" cruise. Any confirmation that they're doing something similar again this year? Thanks!

I have a dilema (sp?). My parents were suppose to go with us on Oct 16th for the MNSSHP and I purchased tickets for them. My stepmom called me this morning and said they could not meet up with us, she has received a letter requiring her to report to jury duty on the 17th. So, I have MNSSHP tickets for the Oct 16th party for the price I paid for them. If you need tickets or need extra tickets for that night, PM me. I got the AP rate and have to pick them up at will call. I hope I don't get in trouble for doing this and I apologize to the moderators if this is inappropriate. Just in a pickle.

Why doesn't she just apply to have her jury duty changed? They do if there is a financial hardship, she just has to say she paid for tickets to something and they'd reschedule her.

This is true, although I remember reading last year that they would switch between their magician/witch costumes and their princess/pirate costumes.

This will be our first MNSSHP (only our 2nd time to Disney!) We fly in October 30th morning (10:50 we land) and I have an ADR at TRex for 2:30. I was hoping to go straight to MK from DTD so will it be okay if we're dressed up for our lunch?

Ok, We decided to go with the 4:10 reservation. So, if anyone wants a 5:25 ADR for LTT, I just released it.

Okay I'm totally rethinking my plans now that everyone says to not eat after 6pm. I currently have reservations for the Barbershop at 5pm and Crystal Palace at 6pm. I could reschedule both to another date. Any advice? Keep it or defiantly change it.

Thank you for answering my questions poohj80!

I also know that this has been asked in various forms, but I can't recall the consensus (all 1000 + posts seem to be blurring together). We have 3:25p ADR at Crystal Palace before MNSSHP. Will we not be let in in costume? We are dressing as cruella and ursual...we could probably remove the wigs if needed, to try to appear not dressed up...

Where did you find him?? That would be a great photo op.... my kids are gonna be Tink, Peter Pan and Captain Hook.

This was after the Villains Mix & Mingle in front of the castle. I just happened to catch the last show, and decided to head for Captain Hook's line. Sooooo worth it, LOL! Good luck & have fun!

We are going on Nov. 1st. This will be the first time at the party for me, and the first time at WDW for my bf. Very exciting!

We're not planning to dress up, simply because of time constraints. We arrive on 11/1 at 10:30. Not sure how long it takes to get to AKL from the airport on Magical Express, but we have a 2:30 ADR at the Garden View Tea Room. I figure we'll head straight to MK from there. Thinking I'll check Target and Old Navy for Halloween t-shirts or something. Has anyone seen any cute ones at either store?

This is a great thread. Thanks for all the tips! :thumbsup2
