OFFICIAL 2010 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) Tips and Tricks

i wish they would put the carriage out for display during the MVMCP, imagine how beautiful it could be decorated with the white lights and red poinsettias?

They used to. I have pics to prove it. Just wish my scanner was working because it was with a regular film camera. I believe it was in 2000.

It was behind the castle and the princesses were around it for pics. And yes, there were poinsettias around it. :thumbsup2

Don't know why they stopped putting it out for MVMCP. :confused3

so i am going on dec 16....how long are people having to wait for cocoa and treats?

We're planning to attend MVMCP on 11/30 - first trip for my family. I talked to a WDW ticket agent and she said that if you are just buying a ticket for the party, you can't enter until 7pm... but in the first post here it says

TIME
Party runs official 7p-12a.
With your party ticket, you can enter the park at 4pm.

So I am looking for more input on this... what time can you enter if you haven't bought a separate ticket for the day? If we can enter at 4, we may not come back to the Magic Kingdom. Otherwise, I would consider skipping the party and coming to the Magic Kingdom a different day.

She also said all the attractions are open. ??? My kids have seen pictures of the Swiss Family Robinson tree house and very much want to see it, but I wouldn't think it would be open in the dark.

You can enter at 4. There hasn't been a single report of anyone being denied entry prior to 4 with a party ticket ONLY. Don't worry about it. It will be fine.

All the attractions will be open until 7. MOST of the attractions will be open during the party, but not all. I know for example that the Jungle Cruise is typically closed, which is a shame, as it is pretty cool in the dark. There are some others too, but the headliners are open.

Just so you know, last Friday (Nov 12) the order was slightly different only when Belle and Beast were there. In our case, it was Belle/Beast, then Aurora/Philip, and Cindy/Charming last. This worked for us because we only needed to see Belle and Beast at that point, and I noticed the others looked a little different than 30 minutes before. :rolleyes1 I did the "nothing to see here" routine for DD6 as we skipped them....

We saw the princesses on Tuesday and it was also in a slightly different order.
Belle and the Beast were all the way to the left, Cindy/Charming in the middle, and Aurora/Philip were on the right.

So can you say if the timeline was the same as Mickeyhunter reported? Snow/Prince at party start, and swapped out at 8:15 to 8:30 with Belle/ Beast??????

No- we went on Tuesday 11/16 and were at the princess tent right at 7pm. Belle and the Beast were in the first rotation.

Well, THAT messes up my whole scheme...... errr...... plan. How on earth am I supposed to know who will be back there when we get in line? At least when they were outside you could see who was out at any given time. And they had a fairly predictable schedule.......:confused3

Yeah, sorry to say that does put a monkey in the wrench. Last Friday I can confirm that Snow/Prince was there at 8:16, and Belle/Beast at 8:50. That change-off in the 8:15-8:30 timeframe does seem to hold.

Is it possible that they actually do start with Belle/Beast at 7 on all nights, let them do a set until 7:45 or so, Snow/Prince do another 45 minutes until 8:30, and so on? mickeyhunter and I both did the dwarves first, so weren't there to see the beginning like stacyleigh. That would explain all 3 of our experiences.... I had assumed they did 90-minute sets, but I must admit I'm not familiar with union regs in far, far, away lands. ;)

We were there last night at 9:30 ( I remember b/c I could hear the fireworks) and Snow was still thete. The CM said that if we got back in line we would see Belle and Beast.

Yeah, sounds more and more to me like they do 45-minute sets.

7:00-7:45 Beast
7:45-8:30 Snow
8:30-9:15 Beast
9:15-10:00 Snow
10:00-10:45 Beast
10:45-11:30 Snow

It kinda works based on the intel.

I'm sure this has been answered but I have read page after page and I can't find the answer. My future son-in-law wants to propose to my daughter possibly at the MVMCP with it snowing on Main Street. When does the snow start to fall and for how long?

Can someone explain the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party to me? If we are already in the park the day of the "party" do we have to buy another ticket? I'm confused about what the party is and why you have to buy a separate ticket for it? I'm sorry!!!

I was thinking of surprising my 5year and doing a quick road trip and taking him!

Yes it is a separate ticket event. Regular park tix or passes of any kind will not work. However you can get in as early as 3:50p.

It's a festive hard-ticket event that happens AFTER the park officially closes. So yes, you need to buy a separate ticket if you want to attend it.

They have snow on Main Street, the Christmas parade, Holiday Wishes fireworks, special character meet and greets, free hot cocoa and cookies and other Christmas shows and festivities plus of course, most of the rides.

It officially runs from 7p to Midnight but for the past few years, they have unofficially let party goers enter with just their party ticket at 4p.

Snowp on Main St.would be more accurate. Lovely and full of ambiance, but it is soap that falls like snow. The wonder of Disney Magic!

BTW, if you see a 21 year old lying on the ground on Main St., it is my DD - she plans to take a photo making snow angels :rotfl2:

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on the hot chocolate - its really hot! I know, that sounds stupid but I mistakenly let my 10 yo, normally smart, DD grab her own hot chocolate. She swigged like she was drinking water and yep, she burned the crap out of her tongue. We ended up leaving right after the first parade she hurt so bad. She spent the entire night icing her tongue.

So watch your little ones and possibly your older ones that are having brain farts. ;)

So excited for our first party!!
I made autograph books for my boys for the party. Those of you that went, did you get a bunch?
Also, do the characters that are in the dance party sign?

Thanks so much!!
