OFFICIAL 2010 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) Tips and Tricks

What do you generally go BEFORE the MVMCP? How early do you arrive? What do you before you arrive? If you arrive early, what do you do when you get there?

I have two ADRs right now, and I can't decide which one to keep, 2:15 and 5:15 PM.

TouringPlans has MK at a 0.3 crowd level for our party day so we are going to MK all day. We will use a day on our tickets to get in as soon as we can get there, probably around noon. We'll be spending that morning sleeping in (off-site), taking the kids to the largest McDs (I know, but they REALLY want to see it & we tried to find it on our way out last visit and couldn't and didn't have time to look too hard), returning the rental car, and checking into our resort.
I would go for the 2:15 ADR and not risk missing the Castle Lights at 6:15 unless you have another chance to see the show.

We are planning to be at MK the day before for the lighting and the regular light parade, but wasn't sure if there was a good reason we needed to at MK early the night of the party. We have hooper passes, so I am not worried about using the ticket to the fullest since we will be at another park earlier that day.

We're going to the Dec 16th party. My plan is to sleep in (10 at the latest, we aren't sleepers, we stay up late and get up early :p), go to AK and see FOTLK and whatever else we can squeeze in (its the only time we'll be seeing AK on this trip) before our 2:30 ADR at Tusker House, then go to MK.

Does anyone recommend a day of the week for MVMCP? We will have chances to go on a Sunday,Tuesday or Thursday and I'm leaning towards the Tues or Thurs (of course that all depends on weather, tickets available, etc).

Don't miss the Wishes Dessert Buffet. What a wonderful way to enjoy the fireworks. I loved the assigned seating, very relaxing!

I don't have touring plans, but could someone tell me what the crowd levels are for the parks on nov.30-dec.4, and how the rating system works? I have a plan of which parks I want to visit on each days but want to see how it compares with the crowd calendar.

I'll be at mvmcp on the 30th too!! :santa:

Touring plans is a subscription - you can't share info., however this site is free http://www.easywdw.com/category/calendar/december/ and there is an explanation of how it works. As for my schedule - I just chose the days that work best for us. Turns out almost every day we will be in the park that they suggest we avoid. Oh well, we'll have fun regardless.

I believe the crowd calendar is free 30 days out so if you are withing 30 days of your trip you will be able to see it, just go to the touring plans website

It used to be this way, now they provide free data for 31-60 days out. They're just tweaking their model to maximize subscribers, which does not seem silly to me.

Me too! This will be our first trip with Lines and I'm so excited to have it! When DH is driving and the kids and I are bored in the car or whatever, I surf on over to touringplans and practice looking at wait times. Sometimes we even take our best guesses on a certain ride's wait time and check it to see who is closest. Well worth the $7-ish we spent!

Where is wrist band distribution if you are already in MK? Is it down near Stitch's ride like MNSSHP?

:santa:

Has anyone who's already been to a party noticed if there were special popcorn buckets like at MNSSHP this year?

Thanks!

Does anyone think the 5th will be sold out??? We were waiting until we got closer to check the weather before we bought...there are NINE of us, so a hefty investment!
