You will only want to look at this if you are:

1) a Star Wars geek
2) somewhat twisted

Since I qualified for both, I enjoyed it. YMMV.

Why your kid should learn how to use a light saber instead of a blaster.

Well, I am a Star Wars fan (not a geek!) and I am somewhat twisted so I took a look, and OMG! :rotfl2:

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE EVE!!!!!!

Santa comes tomorrow night!!!

P.S. Be, since DH is both as well, I just showed him. He LOVED it and plans on posting on his gaming boards. I think you just made him cool to all his friends ;) :rotfl:

At school I got a new nickname:munchkin.

Its not as bad as swome,I would not like to be the munckin mayor! :rotfl2:

Came across a weird web site: Lost in translation

It takes text, and then translates it to another language, back to English, then into a different language, back to English -- for a total of 10 rounds, through 5 languages.

So of course, I had to try it out, with the 2 most important things to be able to say on VMK.

Original English Text:
Are you taken?
Translated to French:
Êtes-vous pris ?

Translated back to English:
Are you taken?

Translated to German:
Werden Sie genommen?

Translated back to English:
Are you taken?

Translated to Italian:
Siete presi?

Translated back to English:
You are taken?

Translated to Portuguese:
Você é feito exame?

Translated back to English:
You is made examination?

Translated to Spanish:
¿Le hacen examinación?

Translated back to English:
They do examinación to him?

Original English Text:
Sorry, not interested in trading
Translated to French:
Désolé, non intéressé à commercer

Translated back to English:
Afflicted, noninterested to trade

Translated to German:
Betrübt, noninterested, um zu handeln

Translated back to English:
Betruebt, noninterested, in order to concern

Translated to Italian:
Betruebt, noninterested, per interessarsi

Translated back to English:
Betruebt, noninterested, in order to be interested

Translated to Portuguese:
Betruebt, noninterested, a fim ser interessado

Translated back to English:
Betruebt, noninterested, the end to be interested

Translated to Spanish:
Betruebt, noninterested, el extremo que se interesará

Translated back to English:
Betruebt, noninterested, the end that will be interested

So today we are out at the mall (I must have still been feeling the effects of the Parrot Bay to have ventured out) and popped into a video game store to check on some Nintendo DS games. While in there, DS6 starts shouting "There he is mom!" I asked who, and he said "It's the Greeker". I'm thinking the Greeker? What is that? There are no Toga wrapped people in here. No, it turns out that the Greeker is "that scary guy in black with the big sword knife that takes you when you die". Ah yes, the Greeker! How could I have forgotten?! TOGA TOGA :rotfl:

Ok, so I shared this with a few people -- but I'm just so tickled with the purchase that I have to share it some more :)

Check out my new art:

For those of you who have been on a Disney Cruise, you'll recognise it. For those who haven't: it's the art that used to hang above the bed in the cabin.
When they refurbished the ship some of the art was replaced :) I happened to be lucky enough to find this piece and buy it.

Oh you lucky girl! I'm green with envy. The cruise is the best and you've got a piece of it!!

for the next trip to WDW or Disneyland, here is a fun little diversion to keep your mind on The Magic Kingdom:

The Magic Kingdom Game.

This was a Christmas present I received, and it is pretty well done for a little board game. I am told that Santa picked my copy up at Toys R Us, so I can't imagine this is rare. Anyway, it has some very detailed parts:

and the board is rather detailed, too:

If you want to see more pictures of the game, click on the links below. And there you have it, a game for add-ducks who need it all.

Woot! Great pictures hagen! I will need to get this game for sure! :)

Wow, surprisingly detailed and very pretty.

Out of curiosity, what is the object of the game? Since it's set in the Magic Kingdom, I can think of a few:

- sprint through the park, collecting FastPasses and beating the lines
- sitting on the park benches and watching the above people with amusement
- gorging on Mickeybars, Strawberry swirls, and Dole Whips (OK, this is just me)
- finding and helping your kids use each and every restroom in the entire park
- jockeying for position along parade routes
- asking the other players "Are u taken?"

Seriously though, it looks like a beautifully designed game. Good for what ages? I think DD#2 would like to eat Space Mountain, though -- she is eyeing it with great interest.

Edited to add: here's a link to the game at Amazon

Nice one Alyce!!! After the battles I have heard this week and had to break up, I need a trip there myself. :rotfl2:

Okay, to answer in reverse:

For some reason, they do give you a completely blank player piece, so you can draw yourself in there sans younguns. Or you can draw yourself in there with Be and me for hours of zany green fun.

The object of the game is pretty simple: The game has a set of cards, and each card has a different Magic Kingdom ride. The backs of the cards are color-coded (sorry, NJ Mike) to indicate their land of residence (Fantasyland is pink, Tomorrowland is purple, and so forth). Each player at the beginning of the game picks a card from each color stack and must visit those rides and exit the park before his or her opponents visit their five rides and exit the park. With two players, it goes by pretty quickly, but with more players it is a bit more crazy. I think we are going to try a variation where the object is to visit as many of the rides as possible and collect the ride card from each one you visit (one per customer, sorry), and at the end of the game, you count up cards and see who visited the most. This version of the game will come with its own mini version of Sehlinger's Unofficial Guide for maximum efficiency.

Oh, and just for the record, Main Street in this game does not have a VMK location... yet. In fact, the game has Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle (so I guess VMK is in Tomorrowland over there?), but it still has The Country Bear Jamboree, Carousel of Progress, Tomorrowland Transit Authority, and Goofy's Barnstormer (that's not at Disneyland, is it?)... I did notice that the game does not have the Alice in Wonderland ride, nor a bunch of pushy AP holders who swarm City Hall at the command of Al Lutz to complain about the latest parade. Nonetheless, it is a cute, fun game.
