Just when I was starting to get into the holiday spirit, someone has to bah-humbug it. It's been a horrible holiday season here, but I threw my heart into decorating for my son. My mom came over and helped decorate. At the end of my driveway I have two brick pillars with lights on them. From those we hung huge wreaths. It looked beautiful....until someone stole one of them I live on a dead end road, only 5 houses are down here. Everyone on the road keeps to themselves, so I have no idea who stole it. It just breaks my heart that someone would have to steal something that had so much work put into it.

Better toothpaste than PENCIL SHAVINGS. Yes, DS6 got mad at me last week so he said he emptied his pencil sharpener into my bathroom sink...to get even...seems a friend of his at school mentioned that when he does stuff like that his mom gets mad, but then gives him stuff, so he thought he would give it a try. Arg I tell you!

I say give him a spanking. Then tell him you are not going to reward him for being bad.

This is the first time he has done anything spiteful on purpose. I think it comes more from his acting out what he sees in school. As I have posted before, he has some really ummm....badly behaved children in his class. :( Hopefully this will change next year as he got invited to apply to an advanced academy. He meets all the criteria, so I just have to see if he gets in based on the lottery in February. :goodvibes

So, my anniversary is not until Monday, but DH and Santa did some work together and today my present came home.....it is a VERY adorable PUPPY!!!! :goodvibes He's an 8-week old Shih-Tzu, and he's mostly caramel colored with some black around his eyes. Now I just have to give him a name. I am sooo excited. He's the first dog I have ever owned :)

I used to have a shih tzu named "Baby". When my folks moved to Florida, they gave her to my grandmother for company (she lives alone) b/c Baby FREAKS OUT over thunderstorms, and FL has quite a few of those....she is about 12 years old now.

Anyway, Baby is a very good name for a cute little shih tzu, if you cannot think of one :) Not original, but a great name, because no matter how old they are, they are always babies :) :dog:

~Mia~

P.S. the day we got Baby makes for a great story, I will never forget it. My sis and I had been begging for a dog a long time (it had been about 6 years since our last one was hit by a car :()
I was 14 or 15 and had just taken my driver's ed class (the day we got to drive around for the first time). I came home, and my Mom was sitting in her chair. I was excitedly telling her about my day, and how well I drove, how scared I had been, etc. and the whole time she just had this odd smile on her face. While I was blabbering I wondered why she had that look on her face. She started glancing down into her lap and back up at me. I stopped mid-sentence when I saw a little black ball of fur that looked like a furby in her lap. I freaked out and totally forgot about my drivers ed when I saw our new puppy :)

Cute story! My turn to ramble! On my bus, their are these fourth graders who think they are all that, then their are the OTHER fourth graders.some are perfect, some are shy and then there is this one girl.Everybody makes fun of her so she sits with the kindergarden kids.I think it's just notright to make fun of her. But,if I sit with her, she cries and switches seats.I just feel so bad for her!And then, when she gets first in line, she always sits with the little kids more along the BIGGER her grade kids.I'm worried that when she gets older, she will let kids take advantage of her.Everyone says she is ugly.I think ugly is a storng word.We are all pretty in our own way!Right?Am I right?!?!?

My next story.
This is about my rabbit Andy.I had this pet rabbit Angie, she was a baby wild rabbit my cats brought home. She was not hurt but she was to young to be out on her own.My parents said I could keep her for a while until she grew up.I took the best care of her.She was sooooooooooooooooooooooo cute!I know your confused.Your like, how is this about a rabbit named Angie if it said
it was about one named Andy?I will skip to when I let her go.Well, a month had past and it was time for her to go.I let her go outside and she followed me.I went inside and cried my head off.My mom and dad felt so bad that they decided I could have a real tamed rabbit. We went down to the pet store that afternoon and bought my new rabbit, Andy.He is very cute. And,he is all mine. It's winter now so his water gets frozen but other then that, he is fine and dandy.I love him very much as stuborn as he is.Got it?Good!

I can :)

Ok. First off, that really stinks Tishke! I know you have done a lot to make your home warm and full of spirit in regards to all the negatives that have been occuring for your family lately. I am so sorry someone felt they needed the wreath more than you do. It hurts when your home has been violated like that. But just know they cannot, and WILL not take that spirit out of your heart :)

Second....my turn to tell the "How we got our Christmas puppy" story.

Ok, so 12 years ago our beloved family dog Boots had to be put to sleep (very sad for me since she was "my" dog...we grew up together...). After many months passed, my sis and I began talking about wanting another dog. Mom and dad always just brushed aside our thoughts. One Sunday morning while at the table eating breakfast (yes, we were THAT type of family. I thank my parents they always had us eat together like that), mom and dad were speaking in code...and whispering...and passing a note back and forth. Well being the NEEDFUL OF INFORMATION (read: sneaky) person I am, I went in the trash and found the piece of paper they had been passing. All that was written on it was DOG? and YES. Needless to say I was VERY excited! So I went back to my sis and told her to make sure she was good, and did all her chores so we could get the dog.
Fast forward to December 19 that same year. It was a cold evening and dad was coming home from work. I was playing my sister's gameboy in the den while my sis and grandparents were sitting there watching TV. All of a sudden my mother comes in and tells me and my sis to go out back and help my dad (who just got home from work) to help bring in firewood. Of course I am a teen and just sort of grumble and mope. My sis gets her coat on and heads out back. I hear a scream so I get up and look out the sliding glass doors to the back patio. What a surprise to see a cute little puppy wagging his tail and licking my sister's face!!! :dog2:
I will always remember that for the rest of my life! It's funny how I was all upset that I had to leave my warm inviting chair and game to help bring in firewood :rotfl: only to have a little furry brother waiting for me :)

We still have Nick. Yes, we named him after St. Nick (aka Santa). He doesn't move as fast as he used to. He moans from his doggie arthritis when he goes to lay down. He can't hear when we call him so we have to clap REALLY loud to get his attention. :dog: But we wags his tail and nuzzles me everytime I go to visit my parents like I haven't seen him in years. He still will toss his bone around like he was still a puppy. And he still chases after birds, rabbits, and cats like he was a spring chicken! We love you Nick! Happy Birthday!!!
Ok, end of sappy story! :teeth:

Ok I am heading into the last two weeks of the year. I work in Tax Compliance for a large company. This mean utter crazyiness here for year end straight through April. People do not assess risk and I have to slap their hands to get them straight.

So I get a gift at work today for the holidays. If you have ever seen the Staples commerical, they discuss the easy button. Well I received an easy button. It actually comes with instructions:

Step 1: Indentify a difficult situation.
Step 2: Press your Easy Button.
Step 3: Listen to the reassuring message. "That was easy."
Step 4: Smile and get on with your day.
Step 5: Repeat as necessary

Please note I have already used it several times this morning and now have suggested an enhancement to the product. They should have a counter. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Have a great day everyone.

I hear ya on that one! My dad is an accountant and my mom is a bookkeeper. Our house will be wild now until April, as well!

As for the easy button, one of my kids said their dad got an easy button recently, too!

Thank goodness I have a pack of batteries in the desk. :rotfl2:

The sad fact is that three of us have the button and each time it goes off - we cannot stop laughing. Hey at least we can laugh - I know it is early in the season. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

So, I officially believe I have stepped into the twilight zone. My new little puppy, who was doing so well being paper trained, now is too good for the papers. Okay, I can work on that, but can anyone explain how DS6 got a Victoria's Secret catalog in the mail :confused3 :earseek:

OMG, I just committed to attend a reunion of my elementary school!!! We are meeting this Friday! What was I thinking??? :confused3

Well, I finally got all my packages and cards in the mail today. I've made fudge, spiced crackers, cakes. Got most of the presents for my hubby, signed up to enter a gingerbread competition for next Christmas, donated new goods to a women's shelter. Found a home for one of our kittens. :cool1:

Still have to clean the house.
