Odd Issue - reservation + ticket + FP < happy

We decided yesterday to GO - starting on THURSDAY of this week. I wanted to get a ticket first for my wife (I have an annual pass already). According to Disney reservations, we could not link the ticket for FP+ unless we have a hotel reservation. I wanted a ticket voucher so I can pay from our vacation savings, but according to Disney, this will not work. My preference was to pay at our first park and pick up the ticket. Very surprised that this is the process, and I still am not sure they are correct. Ticketing got involved, so it was not just reservations.

THEN - I tried to book a FP for Be Our Guest - and that was not working. Called dining, and they said this is by invitation only to select hotel guest. WHAT?? Oh well, we will still eat well while at the world.

Also noticed that the temps will be 93-98. YIKES. Crowds + HEAT = grouchy people. We plan to enjoy and slow down and go inside as it gets too hot.

It is true that you have to have an onsite room ressie to book BOG FP+, though technically you don't need the invitation, just your hotel confirmation #. You can make FP ride ressies under your AP and should be able to copy them to your wife once you arrive.

I was afraid to try to copy FP over - too many may have not been available over this busy weekend.

Are you staying onsite? If not, you can't book FP+.

If you are staying onsite, I am guessing FP+ are already booked. Keep checking and maybe someone will cancel!

Offsite guests can book FP+ 30 days out - this has been in effect for over a month. You need a ticket entered, but I have heard that a ticket voucher number has worked as well. You might want to try again - new CM, new answer.

BoG is some select guests, probably hotel since that is the only way they know where you are. I know I received an invitation in the mail of all places before our trip, but we weren't able to use it .

Yes, hide inside as much as you can. I want to plan a trip for September, but the temps don't appeal to me that much. It would have to be a very long trip, so we can move sloooowww.

Will be updating on our experiences. My wife thought the new system was awesome. She had heard the bad press, but she is already a fan. Lets see what happens if we try to change anything on site, or if we show up and our FP has vanished.
