Welcome!! The best piece of advice I can offer you is to read up on these cruise boards as much as you possibly can! There are some great threads on here with secrets Disney doesn't really make known like how you can bring in items to be autographed and leave them with guest services and they will get them signed for you by the end of the cruise :-) Hubby and I will be bringing a photo matte to be autographed :-)

There's a TON of information on here though!! I'm sure if you post some specific questions you might have, we'll all do our best to answer them :-)

Thanks! I will get my questions out there! And that is great to know about bringing items to be autographed. My daughter will love that!

My husband was wondering about the dress code for dinner? There are conflicting views on this out there and we were hoping someone could help us.

I was wondering about the shows. Will they keep my 20 month old daughter's attention?

I think that's it for now! I'm sure I will have several more questions before our cruise date!

Welcome new folks. It's getting closer!!!!

So, we have several wedding anniversary celebrations on this cruise. I'd love to do a little meet up in one of the lounges. If you are interested, let me know. We have early dinner, so we could do a drink before or after that, but after would interfere with those with late dining. Or maybe we could all try to sign up for Mixology or a wine tasting? Or other ideas?

I'd be up for a "ladies night" in Pink, with pink boas optional...

Can you tell I don't get out much??

DCL would like you to NOT come in swim suits or "park" clothing. I usually bring a pair of khaki long leg pants and a polo shirt or Hawaiian shirt. This works for dress up night too. The stage shows have lots of action and Disney characters, so I would say yes as long as you don't sit too far back in the theater.

Mandy - may I suggest you make a group dis-sign for our little group here? I love your DCL Mickey in the life ring. Perhaps a text showing this location and our Facebook group so we can stay in touch even after the cruise? I know I would display it on my door. Make it so it would look good on a regular 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper then it could be laminated to protect it.
Love your work on photobucket. :thumbsup2

Hi everybody! We're so excited to be sailing on the Dream on 10/7/12!!!

I'm new to the DIS boards, but decided I'd better get in on the action since this is where it's at - lots of great info!

It's actually me and my sister on our first Disney Cruise (yay!) tagging along with our girlfriend and her family on their second Disney Cruise (their first was Alaska 2011) - so we're all first-timers for a Disney Dream/Bahamas/Castaway Cay Cruise!

We love all things Disney and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be hooked on Disney Cruises after this (my only other cruise was a Norweigian Cruise Line sailing out of Galveston).

Some of us want to do the Fish Extender as well, so as soon as we figure out who's in, I'll go on the FE thread and put our names/cabins down.

YAY! And thanks for letting us 'hang' with ya'll!

Hi everyone! :goodvibes

Getting closer - can't wait to meet you all. Anyone going to Food & Wine after the cruise? If so, let's make plans to meet there also. Any experienced cruisers in our group? What tips do you have for us newbies?

This will be my 4th Disney cruise... 2 Wonders, 1 magic and now the Dream.
I've also sailed once with Carnival (Disney's WAY better, in my opinion!)

The number one tip I have is go in with an open mind and know right away that there is NO way you can do it all lol. I thought on my first cruise that I would be able to and was a little disappointed when I couldn't just due to the fact that at some point I needed to eat and sleep... bathing too was a good choice lol

I'd bring some sort of pen or high lighter with you. At turn down service they will leave the next days activities in your room and that way you can sit down with your cruisers and can think about which things you want to do the most to plan out your days!

Another tip would be WATCH THE SHOWS on board!! They are GREAT!!!

Best time to use the pools is when everyone is on the islands :-)

You can get mickey bars from room service :-)

I could go on for days! Are you looking for anything in particular? :-)

That's great! :cool1:

You've given me awesome tips. Keep them coming - anything else you can think of that might be helpful with packing, conveniences in the stateroom, dining suggestions, spa tips - whatever you think of :woohoo:

Hi everyone,

We just booked the 4 night Bahamian cruise on 10-7. We are celebrating our 10 year anniversary and my husbands 40th birthday. We have one son who is 4.5 years old. Would love to get to know some families while on board.

This is our first cruise so any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dylan
