OCTOBER 30th & NOVEMBER 3rd Cruises (FE and Meets)

what do u do so late there???

I work part-time at the Emporium at the Magic Kingdom. Summer hours are crazy! The park is open until 12 or 1am. We close an hour after the park, and then 2 hours or so to get the shop looking pretty for the next day. Last Friday I worked 9pm-5am...Those extra magic hours at the resorts are a killer! The MK was open until midnight, and then EMH until 3am. My hubby is a manager out at Magic Kingdom TTC-parking lot, custodial, merchandise, toll plaza, parking. He is working 630pm-4am tonight. I am so thankful (now) that we are not both leaders currently (I was a manager for 13 years). At least I only work on my set 3 days.

Its been an eventful week for our Disney planning.
I snagged flights from ATL to MCO for $80pp r/t! Then grabbed a one way rental from WDW to the port as well as the port to MCO for $42 each way. Then I called and added a night onto the front of our trip so we can get to the Thurs pm MNSSHP instead of Friday to avoid some of the crowds. Also added ME now that we are flying.
It feels real now!
How are yall's planns coming along?

Guess I need to work on getting FEs going. We head to MI next week so I will probably tackle FEs when we get back.

Couple of questions if you all know the answers.

I know we can get online on Aug 1st. What time for everything?

We are filling out our cruise info that day correct?

Are we also booking excursions and Palo that day?

We would like the Palo Brunch for DH and I.

We also want to book the kayak and hike excursion on castaway cay.

Your online check-in date varies as to the level of Castaway Club you are. It starts at 12:01am on your date. It might be busy on the site at that time, so be ready for that.

You will be able to complete your online check in, reserve spa, excursions, Palo, Remy, register the kiddos for the clubs. I believe you are also asked to put in your arrival time at the port now.

IMO I would complete your online check in and then look to get Palo ressies. We have only 1 sea day, so ressies ahead of time might be a bit challenging...book whatever spot is open. If Palo ressies are gone (Platinum starts to book on July 2), then just keep checking as ressie availability may open up between your check in and sail date. In addition, you can request Palo brunch at embarktion...it is usually starts at 1pm on the Magic/Wonder, and I'm sure it's about that time on the Dream.

Getting excited! Our online check in in 7/2, so only 8 days away. If I see anything new to the process or anything that stands out to me, I will be sure to post.

Yay! Great deal for you on airfare and rental car. Be sure to get your tickets soon for MNSSHP. The later Oct dates fill up fast!

Our plans are pretty easy...pack, wake up the morning before, pack the car, drive 1 hour (or so depending on traffic) and check in at CI&S for the night before (reserved our room months ago). Dinner will be at Rusty's at the port...our favorite! My biggest challenge is training for the 2 half marathons I have between now and when we cruise...hope to be down a dress size or 2 and purchase new cruise clothes!

I would love it if you could give me an idea how to get to Rusty's from CI&S! We wanted to try it last time and didn't.

That is 12:01 am East Coast (9:01pm West Coast), If we Californians wait until Midnight we miss out on a lot of reservations as we start 3 hours later.

Must be nice to be platinum, :worship: . We are still gold for this B2B (cruise 9&10), so we don't get to book until 7/14. :sad2:

But we will be platinum for the Maiden Fantasy cruise next March, so we can be a part of the "excessive" amount of platinums. :crowded: :thumbsup2

Yes sorry, 12:01am Eastern. Since I live in FL, I often forget that.

It is a nice benefit being platinum. DH will cruise this time as platinum. DD had no idea how lucky she is to be at gold at the age of 6, soon to be 7. She will complete her 8th DCL trip in October.

The truth is, this is the very first time we are able to do our online checkin so far out, book Palo, excursions. DH and I are both cast members at WDW, and due to vacation schedules, and trying for FL or cast rates, we never have booked this far out. We generally book 21-60 days before siailing, but we booked this upcoming one onboard in Dec. We have enjoyed the extra platinum perks such as boarding group #1, and the platinum extras with the stateroom gift. I'm looking forward to this one for that plus the early online check in...here's hoping for Palo brunch and dinner! I am not booking Remy-saving that for someone else.

On another note...we got our RCCL luggage tags for our upcoming sailing on the Monarch of the Seas in August in the mail today :-)

I was thinking about this with ours, too. Our youngest will be 5 when we cruise the Fantasy in 2012, and that will be our 5th cruise. I'm guessing we will be cruising as gold in 2013, and they will most likely be 5 and 6 at that time!

Although the 3 day will be my 1st platinum cruise, for booking I am gold for all three cruises, lol. So I get to be up late 3 times in July, eek!

Sorry Jan, may be I worded it wrong. The only day for Palo brunch will be our sea day. On the day we board, if people aren't able to book Palo ressies ahead of time, around 1pm, you can head to an area to talk with the Palo services team to talk about getting dinner or brunch ressies for the cruise. The exact time and location will be on the mini Navigator they will give you when you check in before boarding.

Thanks-- that is what I thought, but they COULD have changed it!

We peeked onto Palo and Remy in May and the head of Remy told us that he had space nearly every night to add people so if anyone wants a reservation for either restaurant, I suggest you call during the day and/or appear in person at dinner time and see what they can do. Some people make a reservation and do not show up.

 I FINISHED MY FE GIFTS

Now I do have a few DISers written down that I did not do yet cause I'm not sure if they doing the FE with us on the Oct 30th cruise or if they are still even cruising with us. Please let me know if these Disers are participating so I can make theirs or delete them from my list. Thanks :thumbsup2

Wow! Well done! I have all the kiddos stuff all done, just not compiled. I am still debating on one more thing to make for the adults.

I thought I read someone is working on an excel list for FE...I would love that if someone has done it. It would make it easier for me not to miss someone, as I haven't printed out the cruise mate list due to length.

I just finished my long run for the week...5.01 miles today. 72 days until my next half marathon...Disneyland 9/4, can't wait!

Have a great weekend! I have a rare Friday night off...working tomorrow night though. Family night! Here's hoping we get the rain and some storms...then it's a family game night!

Question?

Do we want to assign days for people to deliver their FE gifts?

I know I want to give mine on the first day cause I have made something to help DISers be recognized.

Don't want my FE holder overflowing into the hall cause everyone delivered on the same day. We do have alot of DISers participating. :goodvibes

I wouldn't be opposed to splitting up delivery days. As we only have 4, there might be overflowing FE's regardless. Last cruise we split up by decks. Of course, we also gave people the flexibility if they had time sensitive or preferred days to deliver. Some even delivered multiple. We used it as a guideline.
