I have a question that I can't seem to find the answer to (and my phone is charging so I can't call!). When we did our online check in, we were given a time to show up to the port - I think it was 12 or 12:30. BUT we want to upgrade at the port and we are afraid that there won't be any left by the time we get to the port if we stick to our check in time. SO what I am wondering is if we are allowed to show up and check in BEFORE our assigned time?![]()
After you are finished checking in but before you leave the window, let them know you are interested in finding out about a cabin upgrade. If there are any available (good chance there will be on this cruise), they will walk you over to the upgrade CM. They can tell you if and what is available. It can be pretty cheap, depending on availability and how much you paid for your cabin. If you are at all interested, go ahead and ask, if you don't like the amount, decline - we have. Of course the earlier you get there the better chance you will have. I have been there right when the port opened and there was nothing available. I have also seen them offering upgrades in GS the second day of the cruise. If you are unhappy with your cabin now and MUST move, do it now and don't ask about upgrading.
I have the earliest boarding time, 11:00, for this cruise. All other cruises I have come on DCL transportation to the port and didn't get a boarding time, they just put you in line and on we walked (after waiting in line, this is Disney after all). I have heard conflicting comments from people who arrive before their assigned time, some have been made to wait outside and look in the window like lost puppies, while others have just walked in. I think if you ask they will tell you you can't get in until your boarding time.
