Charlene, Robert, and Robbie (12) will be sailing on this cruise with my DD Quetta, DGD7 Trinity, and DGD4 Breanna (info posted above) :grouphug:. We hail from Northern Virginia…and Southern Virginia! We will be on deck 10 mid-ship (I don’t have the stateroom numbers handy). We will be celebrating Robbie’s birthday all week…although he actually turns 13 on November 2nd…:thumbsup2

Welcome to the cruise

:offtopic:
I decided to leave early, so I am home from DC. 10 hours each way for a 3 hour party. :faint: I have over 100+ family members, so it was good to see everyone. I'm still exhausted from the 20 hour car ride. :drive: Slowly starting my day.:laundy:

.....I'm still exhausted from the 20 hour car ride.....

You know that's why they have aircraft.... :lmao:

And you didn't come by to visit? lol.

At least you had nice weather. :thumbsup2

Only 228 days to go. :cool1:

Welcome newcomers.
Ship's filling up.

There are many many more opportunities for us to meet up and become besties! :lmao:

I would have taken a flight, but my mom called to tell me about the surprise party too late to get a decent price on 4 tickets. Maybe I was on the B list ;)

In the 4 hours I was up there, I was asked to be godmother to one of the new babies May 18th. So, I will be up there for a week and fly from BWI to the Alaska cruise. Glad I waited to book airfare.

It is a really good thing I home school because my kids would have had about 35-40 absences before the year was over. :rotfl2:

I'll remind everyone again, but I will be out for a good 3-4 weeks May - June so keeping up the roll call will take a back seat for a little while.

add me to the Roll call please.

My 14 and 12yo already told me not to plan for them to be at dinner or the shows..maybe the beach if all the "other kids" are going in Jamaica or Cozumel.

No Joke! I missed him on the last cruise. :(

Yeah, Nico came to breakfast the last morning. I said, "Hello, my name is Mommy. It's nice to meet you."

Mine left at 10am and didn't come back until 1am every night. I got calls to tell me what the next activity was and how much fun he was having.

He, Nico 13, actually told me that I need to bring someone with me on his "mommy and me" Southern Caribbean cruise so I have someone to hang out with. I explained that he was going to be at dinner every night with me because I refuse to spend that kind of money to be ditched at dinner. ;)

Today, he asked to switch to Eastern Oct 18th (B2B) with Oct 25th so his sisters would be there. My 9yo never leaves my side, plus the Eastern has "teen" excursions at St Thomas which he would be old enough to participate. "It's win/win, Mom" was his logic

Really, at the rate he is going, he might get uninvited ;)

Hi I can't wait, this is my 5th cruise and my husband's 1st. This trip has a lot of firsts for him.

Hi all! Been watching and participating on the FB group, but thought it was time to check in here. This is our sixth cruise and certainly won't be the last. Look forward to chatting with you all.

Any suggestions on Jamaica? Our daughter will be 4. Any private beaches to visit? We don't shop much in ports and I don't think she's old enough for most if the excursions we would enjoy like Dunn river falls and zip lining.

This is a tough call with a 4 y/o.

Have you scoured the CC port thread?

Do recon on Google maps. There is a resort or two just east of Falmouth that I'm sure would take our $. lol.

Some of the "somewhat" nearby hotels offer day passes. That's always a possibility.
The issue is Ochos Rios and the majority of the popular destinations are 45 minutes away, one way. That's two hours r/t.
We aren't sure we are willing to commit to this 2 hours in a vehicle scenario.
We are still evaluating our day in Falmouth. ;)

It's a tough call for us too. And ours are 12 and 8. ;)
It's a time/value/reward calculation in Falmouth unfortunately.

We have the same exact issue as you... our DD will be turning 4 that month. My wife saw on here that someone suggested Margaritaville. It's in walking distance of the ship; and there are things to do there. I know she mentioned l pools; and it was at least Free to get into the place. Not sure how pricing works otherwise. We haven't looked into it too much yet. But that is looking like what our plan will be.

We got married in Jamaica so we want to show the kids around a little. We plan on going to Dunns River and I have heard good things about this group http://www.realtoursjamaica.com/ here is the reviews on tripadvisor http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attracti...y_Tours-Falmouth_Trelawny_Parish_Jamaica.html

Our son will be 11 and our daughter 8 so we will probably do the Falls and lunch or the Falls Cave combo or maybe the snorkeling / falls combo, not sure yet.

Just FYI the Falls are very steep and slick, we climbed them 14 years ago and several people slipped and banged up their shins - but then again most of us had came over on the 'party' boat so we had a few drinks before hand.
