:rotfl::rotfl: People who do sail DCL will run a risk of that. Better safe than sorry

(we need a smilie that jump overboard)

Edited to add: Rest of 2015 dates will come out March 11th because I am extremely busy that day and won't have time to check internet.

Thanks for the clarification Ron

Well, .. I suppose this is a fine time to state my thoughts and input regarding the Meet and Greet Aboard, to whom ever may listen. :p , :lmao:

We have always preferred the ones outside, weather permitting. Often this would occur on the deck above the pool deck starboard. We always like this locale. Of course shade is an issue if it is sunny and hot.... which could deter some, yet lure others.

It's always been depressing for us attending the Meets indoors when the weather is nice. I suspect we aren't alone in our thoughts. ;)
It was so obvious at times. Most attendees wanted to leave and go outside during past meets if the weather cooperated. And most did so quickly.

Of course I always love viewing the photos of the Group Meets on the Atrium staircase. Always wanted on of those. Never participated, nor, received one. :sad2:
Not sure how that works, especially embark day at 3pm.
I have a suspicion these photos must be created at 12:01am or something. :lmao: I have seen photos with 120 pax min. assembled for their DisMeet photo on and around the staircase. :confused3

I would love to know when these images are captured, without others interrupting. Perhaps it is coordinated with the staff?
Are others interested in this photo? Obviously this is potentially the most difficult to coordinate. Perhaps not.

Here I'll try; Let's all show up, including all kids, 9pm atrium, 1st sea day, surround / block staircase, have someone take a few photos with multiple cameras, done. So ... 15 - 25 minutes of you time. Priceless, IMO. :)

OK, obviously this can't interfere with scheduled activities in the atrium.
Alright, ... maybe this is set up / scheduled with crew aboard.

I still like this idea. Especially as this will likely be our last DCL.

Point is, this would be cool to have/participate in. Anyone have experience with this mass group photo event with the whole group on the atrium staircase?

Thanks for listening. That's my 2 cents for tonight regarding the Dismeet Aboard.

:)

9 pm is in the middle of late dining.;)

At 3:15-3:30 on embarkation day the atrium is almost empty and plenty of CMs around to hand a camera to to take a pic. This is why the inside meet and greet are so popular; a quick step over to the staircase and there we go.... The main thing is: if you don't get it done right away chances are slim that you'll get a big crowd in the photo. People will quickly move on and find themselves too busy later in the cruise.

A good idea, IMO, would be to meet up on the coffee bar (Vista Cafe) from 3-3:15 and then make our way over to the staircase 3-15-3:25. Then off to your rooms to prepare for muster or straight to muster.

Plus finding a semi-private outdoor area is pretty tough. The Vista Cafe is usually pretty empty at that time.

Just an idea that has worked well in the past. Everyone's opinion is welcome!

That works for me. I tend not to see my kids after the muster; at least the older two.

Love the staircase idea!!! I've never been or participated either, but I will have been on one Aug 30th and they are planning a meet and pic too. I'll have to ask over there what they do and where they suggest.

9pm, I think they are still doing formal pics (first sea day is formal night) so it might have to be right when pictures first start to open (4:30-5pm?)

Corey seems to call DCL regularly, maybe she can ask when they start setting up for formal stairwell pics. (I don't call often, but I can call. Better to call now than after the rest of 2015 dates are released ;) )

Why might this be your last DCL?

Yes I do call alot. If you need I can ask tomorrow when I call. But I will need to know approx. how many people

...... Everyone's opinion is welcome! ...

Thanks Ron. Understand.

If having the meet indoors, allows for a more likely chance for an Atrium Staircase photo, I'm good with that. ;)

Is this something else you will be coordinating corey?
Let me know if you need any assistance coordinating anything. I'm available likely.

Only 236 days to go. Oh my. It's getting soooo close. :rotfl2:

2 inches now on the ground. 6 - 10 inches of snow due here by tonight, just outside DC, ..... again.
Our town shuts down with half this amount of snow. lol. I know, ... northerners laugh at us. lol. It's expected and warranted. But what you all may not consider is our demographics. Some folks in town just relocated from subtropic climates. They may have been riding a camel or donkey last week, and now they are riding a Camry. No offense, seriously.
Perhaps this time I'll be able to build my annual snowman, if it isn't tooooo cold.
In fact, a camel and donkey will be more useful this am, than a Camry. lol.

Hoping everyone can stay warm during this latest storm.
And hoping folks retain power throughout storm Titan.

I feel for those SW of us with the icing.

Thinking of warm tropical water, and being aboard as I type. :)

And here we go again with airport delays. I hope few miss the ships sailing now.

A reminder to folks on our sailing. It may not be too late to purchase insurance for our October sailing. At this rate, we may be delayed by snow storms. :rotfl:

:)

Corey, I'm not sure if you are aware, but.... The answers that the non concierge CMs give you are not always very accurate. They are usually very kind, but most of them have never set foot on a Disney ship. They are hired and trained to make reservations, change reservations, make note of simple requests and answer very general questions. So when you call, try to remember that just because a CM told you something doesn't make it true and/or concrete. You are much better off doing a search on the main DCL page of the Dis. Or you could even start a thread over there with your question.:)

As far as the stairwell, they may be able to find an answer for you about when on Sunday night that they may start setting up for formal pictures.

But... I can tell you for sure that on embarkation day there are about 25-30 CMs in the atrium doing nothing but welcoming guests, answering question and on many occasions I've seen them snap a photo of a group or family. All you have to do is find one and ask. And at 3:20 there are not many people in the atrium. So setting up (on the fly) a group photo on the staircase is easy. You don't need to call about that one. Trust me I've done it... a couple of times...;)

:)

As I am driving up there Friday, this is not good news. My family was doing the snow dance because they are Gov employees, teachers, and I have so many peeps I don't know what they all do. But I do know there was a lot of snow prayers on FB last night from them all.

I really hope spring comes upon the DC area in four days. I do not want to get stuck up there or stuck driving in that stuff.

:welcome: Welcome to the group!! :welcome:

Quite a lot of Edge/Vibe kids in this group :) If your kids are so inclined, there is a kids thread for them to get to know other kids. My DS will be 14 he's on the thread and my 12yo daughter is on there as well. It's a nice way for the kids to get to know each other.

A birthday week sounds like fun party:
