This weather sucks!

It's colder now than it was last month... rainy /snowy / windy / temps in the mid-30s - blecccch!! Where did Spring disappear to? :confused3

Good news: Our case of Guavaberry arrived last night! Six bottles for us and six bottles for my friend (who is taking my word for it that she's going to like the stuff).

Gotta get me some pineapple juice so Jay and I can make coladas tonight and then sip them in front of the roaring fire I'm going to make him build in the fireplace! :thumbsup2

Have a good one everybody! :goodvibes And good luck Karen!!!

Hi Karen...

No, my "deleted" post was not to bump. I thought I was PMing someone and it turned up on the regular post instead.

I was practicing with the new smilies, but I can't come up with an EASY way to post them. The way I go about it now just takes waaaaay too long. I want all those new smilies posted over to the right like the DIS ones are so I can just click on them instead of copy, paste, insert, blah blah blah.

Guess I'll just stick to the old ones instead.

Nancy the way I do it is just have both open in seperate windows..when I want a smilie just click on the other window, find, and cut the smilie URL that you want, click back on the dis window and paste the URL.

Does any of that make sense:confused3

I know what you meant though - it does take longer than just picking one from the ones on the right.

Brenda - never heard of Guavaberry - sounds yummy! - enjoy:goodvibes (but not all 6 bottles at once eh!

My hubby has gone out tonight for a night on the town with his mates - he left at 5pm:rolleyes: - goodness knows what state he'll roll back home in:confused3

They have a lot to celebrate though... one has just had a baby and one has recently got the all clear from lukemia so they'll be partying all night:banana:

I am just about to open a bottle of chardonnay - a bit early, (its 5.30pm) but who cares:confused3 - not me. Diet totally blown over the last 2 weeks, so I am starting AGAIN on Monday, so tonight......... I feast!:cool1:

Yes, it does make sense. That's the way Brenda told me how to use it. I just want it to be easier. I'm all about "easy".

I believe Brenda discovered the wonderful world of guavaberry in St Maarten. It is ever sooo yummy!! I bought a bottle myself but left it in the closet in our cabin for the Stateroom Hostess with a little gift tag on it because she showed more interest in it than Chuck did. Now I wish I had it again. I slammed down a guavaberry smoothie early in the morning in St Maarten at a little stand near the ship. I drank it down so fast and believe me, I was whistleling before I reached the ship.:rolleyes1

I can relate to that myself. The bosses were both gone at work last week and we all just let our hair down (relaxed, just in case that's an American term). We had someone bring lunch in every day. Monday was Sloppy Joes and shrimp salad with brownies for dessert. Tuesday was Chicken Pesto with a salad and chocolate cake for dessert. Wednesday was my turn and I brought in Hungarian sausage, sauerkraut, brat buns, potato chips and soda. For dessert I had Kringle. Thursday was Chinese Food with chocolate zucchini bread for dessert. Friday was leftovers. I haven't eaten like that since our cruise in 2005!!

I think I also freaked out my colon a bit with all that good food. (Sorry if that was TMI) My body is not use to all that good, greasy, fatty food anymore.

Hope Neil has a good time tonight. Looks like he and his friends (mates:) ) deserve it.

Bump

Im off out tonight with Work. Its a kind of have to do thing, rather than want to do.... but its free food and drink... whoops forgot im on a diet
well I might ~"slip" a bit tonight, but I cant go mad i have to work tomorrow.

Works going to be tough over the next Month, there is a re deployment of hours, which in real terms means some people wont have jobs, or at least jobs with hours they like or can do ! Everyone including me goes into " consultation" this week, were we are given out options to think about. Pointless really goes after 90 days, they can do what they wnat, cos they have given you 90 notice.! Im not soooo worried ( actually I am a bit) but for some part time ladies who NEED to work , their hours are going to change so much, parents will struggle to do them, thus leaving them without a job. SH *T isnt it! Me and the full time manager Ian has to start all consultations by end of next week. So a meal out with the manangement is not going to be much fun. I might just drink too much and say what I REALLY think !

Karen good luck with the Viewing!

Happy Saturday all. xxxxx

Forgot to say I got all my ADRS I wanted !!!
:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

IF you havent got your ADRS booked yet and you are in the time frame to do so, I really would recommend you get them in. FREE dinning is certainly affecting things and making it harder to get ADRs. I think this ends 22nd Sep, but for friends of our who arrive that day for 3 weeks, they will still be free dinning when we are in WDW, so resturants ( popular ones) may get booked very quick!

Lindy - I have never booked an adr in my life:rolleyes: - I am soooo not as organised as you lot. My "favourites" on my pc has so much stuff in it to look at that I really need to start doing something about it.

Even those distag prezzies :confused3 - all I have so far is a brum postcard and the idea of a Ripple. How do you know how many to get? - people could join at the last month and then I'll be panicking and having to shoot off to get more:eek:

Maybe, once Ellis is in bed I should sit down and decide a few things. I just have so much else whizzing in my head that there doesnt seem room for much more :lmao: - go on Jeff and Chris - I'm sure that deserves a comment or 2:rotfl:

Mind you, by then I'll have a bottle of chardonnay whizzing round in my head so I could decide on anything:lmao:

Oooohh Nancy - can I work with you please - especially on a Tuesday or Wednesday:lmao:

I know what you mean about your body objecting... I go through my very healthy / no fat blah blah diet...then I binge on calorie and fat laden goodies for a few days and geez my stomach really objects:eek: - not that I listen to it mind you, I just shovel in more cheesecake to shut it up:lmao:

Hi guys. Have a brief second to stop in and say hello. After Monday I should have more time to post. Looks like you have been very talkative (and possessed - like the smileys).

Also, Karen, I sent you a PM.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Karen--This is what I plan for the "prezzies." I am going to home to Louisiana (on our way to Virginia) this summer so I thought I'd get something there. I was wondering also about how many to get, so I came up with this.....I will get more than the amount I think I need and if I end up with extras on the ship, I will use them for gifts for the Kids clubs CMs or a little something extra for the room hostess. I figure that is better than not having enough and having to get my parents to mail something to me at the last minute.:thumbsup2

We are having a very rainy day in Monterey! We had to get up early for baseball/softball games and they were called on account of rain!:sad2:

Jeff - pm'd you back - its a long one!:goodvibes

Paige - brilliant idea! - I couldnt think what to do with the extras - kids club cm's, room host etc is a fab idea! - mind you - I'll eat any spare Ripples!:lmao: - I dont like the castmembers THAT much:lmao:

Sorry its been raining - its been so lovely here and its still warm at 8pm. Maybe we'll get a decent summer in England for once:eek:

Ellis has just started practicing with a baseball bat. He's really good! - I swing and miss 50% of the time but he gets about 90% of them.
We've been practicing in the conservatory with a foam ball too! I've been ducking and flinching every time he whacks it:rotfl:

Maybe we'll get him a catcher mitt thingy when we're in Florida.

Oh, love the smiley's info!
:thumbsup2
Thanks Lindy Loo for the idea of the sex smiley's
I looked at that one first and sent Bob a fun email
full of some of those smiley's with the title of:
Suggestions of what to do for the weekend!;)

So here's a cute little idea we did last week during lunch. On Chinese day, we had fortune cookies as a snack. We each had to open up our fortune and read it aloud. The only catch was that we had to add the words "in bed" at the end of each fortune.

Here's mine: "Be generous, and the favor will be returned...in bed"!!!

Holy Cow...it was hilarious!! Much Fun. Try it next time.

Hey Nancy,

Would it be possible to change the DIS Tag sign up date? I was looking at Linda and Karen's posts and I started thinking...

Hmm we leave on the 9th...If someone signs up let's say on the 1st...that only leaves me 8 days to get another gift thingy together

Can we bump it up a little?? Like maybe September 1st????

Paige had a great idea about just bringing extras but I know we won't have a lot of extra luggage space so I'm not sure that will work for us.

Absolutely Cass!!

September 1st it is!! I'm doing the same thing as Paige by bringing extras, but I do think it's a great idea.

I'll go back and edit my Tag rules.

BTW...Congrats on post 2000!

LOL, I didn't even notice!

Took me long enough huh? I don't think I posted for the first 3 years :rolleyes1 I just lurked a lot ;)

And thanks for changing the date!!! :faint: Whew!

If any of you have made changes to your cruise res did it have to be cancelled and rebooked? For example, we canceled off our air but left the transfers, insurance, REAS, cabin etc. So I deducted the air/air taxes from our original cruise package price then added back on the new air/taxes cost and my travel agent has a $239.00 higher price than I have. It doesn't make sense to me and it is driving me crazy. She is out of the country until Monday. The only thing I can think of is she cancelled our original res and rebooked, which of course the prices have gone up a couple of hundred dollars since we booked. I did a dummy res today and the taxes on the cruise package itself have not gone up from when we originally booked, only the cabin price itself. If she can justify the $239 price discrepancy, then us booking the air separately and also having the Hyatt cost is costing us more in the end, whereas we should have come out even at most. If the $239 is transfers (which it shouldn't be because we already had them booked) then would it make more sense to do transfers on our own? If she cancelled and rebooked and that was not necessary then I will be ticked off that she didn't recheck prices before doing so.

I am not happy at the moment about the pricing and think maybe we should have left it all alone and flown in the day of. Because I used to be a travel agent, I have had a very hard time letting someone else take over my travel plans. The next time I am going to do it all myself. But I thought I'd be nice and give a friend a commission. And I don't even get a darn stateroom credit out of all of this! :furious: Also when I got to our reservation, the REAS package doesn't even show up even though I aksed her to book it 2 months ago. Would it show up there or not. Oh I am an anal, control freak having a hissy fit. Time to break open a bottle of wine and get over it!

Abby,
Sorry to hear about your booking! I would be mad too! I was never a travel agent but I totally understand, I am the anal planning type too! I like doing all my stuff myself but I have used Dreams Unlimited several times now for WDW/DCL stuff and they really are awesome! If I were you, I would get a no obligation quote from Dreams and see what they come up with. You can get a $50 or $100 stateroom credit if you book before April 30th too!

As for the REAS package, I do believe it should show up on your reservation online at disneycruise.com, so if it's not, I would check into that!

I know it's your friend and all but I would go with Dreams! They are awesome, if any of your rates go down (hotel, cruise etc) they apply it to your booking, you don't even have to check! They saved us $200 USD last trip on our WL stay!! Plus, if you go with them, you are supporting the DIS too, and that's always a good thing :goodvibes

Good luck with all that!!!

BTW, if you have a AAA membership, you can get a AAA rate of $199 for the Hyatt on October 19th, 2 double beds!

Thanks for the info! :thumbsup2 She just e-mailed me and said she thought the difference was the insurance. That really doesn't make sense because we already had purchased the insurance from day 1. But I'll try to give her the benefit of the doubt until I see numbers. We aren't AAA members anymore. But I'll keep my eyes open for membership specials and maybe join again. I'll e-mail Dreams and see what kind of quote I get from them.
