October 2013!

I'm so excited we book are trip. Going Oct. 19-27 staying at AofA unless we get a better deal on a nicer hotel. This is the first time not taking the kids just me and the wife. We are leaving our 5 kids at home. Going to be a magical time.

Today was my 180 day mark, so I woke up at 5:45am and booked Be Our Guest, Teppan Edo, The Brown Derby and the Spirit of Aloha dinner show. :cool1:

Whew.... it's good to have that done!!!! Now onto the rest of the planning....

(By the way, I couldn't get anything at BOG until Oct 12..... just so you know...)

We're trying to pick a date for 2013, and Oct 19 seems perfect. But I'm seeing some posts about fall school vacation weeks. Our school systems in the northeast don't have any weeks off in the fall. Do other parts of the country have a week off in October, and if so, when? thanks!

I live in Indiana and my kids get 2 weeks off for fall brake it oct 12-27. We went last year and it was nice and not crowded at all.

Well, I guess it's time to join this thread! I am heading up a trip that could include 20-30 friends. I am really looking forward to planning this one!!

The wife and I are looking foward to meeting up with you while we're down there.

You must mean private schools? All the public schools I know of in Indiana have 2 days for Fall Break.

More and more public schools are going to the balanced schedule, which gives a shorter summer, but longer breaks for fall and spring. Alot of the metro Indianapolis schools are going to this, including some of the Indianapolis township schools.

Plane tix purchased last night, so it is official! We will be at POP Oct. 18-26!

Congratulations!!! I heard you mention this year wasn't certain -great to hear it's working out!

Thank you, and you are correct. The uncertainty was from the government sequestration. Furloughs for DH were reduced from 22 days to 14, and the uncertainty of the trip was making us even more stressed out, so we just decided to go ahead and book it. DH and I are in a much better mood all of a sudden. :rotfl2: The kids don't know yet, but we plan to tell them tonight. :goodvibes We have been working really hard to trim our monthly budget, and if all goes well, we won't have to dip into our savings through this whole mess. :goodvibes

I think that for many of us, having a trip officially on the calendar is enough to relieve stress! Sometimes I wonder if the act of planning a Disney trip is just as much fun as being on the adventure! :rotfl: Do you have a special way to break the news to the kids?

I think so! For me its just as much fun to plan and prep as it is to go!! :lmao:

I agree. I just want it booked. And my flight. Then I could relax.

I was excited when I booked, and even more giddy when I got a great deal on my flight!! Also, I should have it all paid for by the end of the month!!

Its so great to have that stress done with, and I feel that all my overtime I have signed up for is all worth it now! Just happy all I have to do now is save up for the little extras (and the drinks) for the F&WF, and getting my costume for the MNSSHP!! :woohoo:

We just made our reservations for our next trip-so excited! This will be our 3rd trip, the last two we stayed at Pop...this year we got AOA Little Mermaid room October 26-Nov 9! I can't wait to stay there-of course I'll be even more excited if free dining comes (sadly that means we'll probably have to change resorts-I'll make the sacrifice).

Does anyone know if free dining is usually offered during this time period and when we might find out? We usually go May/June time and have gotten pin codes both times for free dining-please let us all have some pixie dust this year!

we LOVE going in october! we'll be at CBR this time... excited to try something different. happy planning everyone! :yay:
