October 2013!

I'm curious, what link to the "old website" are y'all using? Does this mean that My Disney Experience isn't letting you book like you want? Thanks!

Try using this:

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/en_GB/

If this doesn't work, search for a thread 'Book Ressies 180 + 10'. I think that's how I found it. From what I've gathered, the UK is still using the old site. The new site has the 'My Disney Experience'. The new site has some type of bug, where it will not allow you to book your +10 days, even when signed in with your resort confirmation number.

I was able to get all my ADRs this morning too, including early breakfasts at Tusker & 'Ohana and dinner at BOG. Woohoo! I always settle down a bit once I've got the ADRs I had planned on. Now I can get some daily touring plans together.

Just thought of something... Booked a room only 7 night stay, and bought annual passes to use for this trip and next one in June. IF a free dining promo comes out, will I be able to take advantage of that?

Free dining requires the purchase of a package with a minimum 2 day base ticket for everyone on the reservation ages 3 and up. You can save the two day tickets for future use, though.

I'll be celebrating my 50th birthday in Disney from Oct 18-25! RIght now, it's just me and my bff going but there might be some family members joining us. I already have our reservations at Pop Century.

Flight reservations made! They are higher than I have paid in the past but definitely down from where they were. Next step is ADR's next Monday!
Fellow Hoosier here! It has been about 6 years since I have flown. Do you mind if I ask how much your flight is? We will be flying out of Chicago. Spirit has round trip, non-stop for $236. Their baggage fee is $33 each way, plus $25 for a carry on. So that brings the price up to $327 each. Is that a good price? It has been that for a few weeks now. I don't know if I should book it or wait to see if other prices come down.

Kellyjeani,

We did sci-fi on our last visit and it was a bit scary for the kids. The movies themselves are not so scary, but the horror on the faces and in black and white was a bit much for them. Mine are 6, 4 and 2 and they were not entertained. Plus the food is not that great. Awesome milkshakes, but I would probably do the brown derby. The food there is awesome and it is a nice relaxing meal, your kids are old enough that they should hang in there and you get the tix to fantasmic.

For a family going for the first time, which character meals would you suggest? We'll probably only do 2, maybe 3. I'm leaning Ohana breakfast to see Mickey, and Akershus (breakfast? lunch?) for the princesses. My kids are DS 8, DD 5, and DS 2. I was thinking Ohana over CM because my 2-year-old makes buffets hard, though I think Akershus is a buffet? DD would like to see the princess I'm sure, but not sure if CRT is necessary. My reservation date isn't until the end of the month, if I'm going to make any. Is it necessary to get reservations for Sci-Fi?

Thank you so much for that info! Definite food for thought, I appreciate it :)

I got Airtran for $280 RT for nonstops. No charge for carry-on and $25 for 1st checked bag, $35 for 2nd each way. We usually try to upgrade to business class for $89, which includes 2 checked bags. So really you are paying $30 for business class, which for us is worth it. That's as low as I have seen it with Airtran. If it goes down you can call and they will apply the difference as a credit on your account for the next flight you book.

Hope that helps.

I'm thinking of trying to book MNSSH and would like to do a dinner ressie at BOG. What is the best time for the ressie so the kids can get candy and then we can stop to eat but be done before the first parade with enough time to get a good spot.

I have 4 kids 6 and under so eating dinner is not optional, but I also want to take advantage of the extra special festivities. This is my first MNSSH and I really have no idea how to plan. Please help!

I would not eat during the actual party. Historically, you can get into MK with just your party ticket at 4pm. I would try to get a 4:15 reservation. If you want to see any of the party headliners like the 7 dwarfs or the princesses/princes, you will want to line up for those no later than 6pm. That way, you will be one of the first in line and can be done meeting them by 7:20 and on your way to a parade spot. You can trick or treat after the parade. Eating a TS meal during actual party time is a huge waste of money.

When you say the headliners, do you mean that the special characters will be meeting and greeting with the kids in advance of the start of the parades, etc.?

The party doesn't officially start until 7pm though right?

The characters are out earlier?

The characters will come out at 7pm, but people line up for their priority character at least an hour beforehand. This way, they can be done with their first character early and go on to enjoy other things. If you eat at say, 5:30, you will get out of BoG around 7pm and then you will be an hour behind everyone else. Some of the character lines can grow to a 90 minute or more wait, so it is best to pick your priority character and be there by 6. The party officially starts at 7, but you can get a ton of stuff done between 4 and 6 with a good plan. We use that time to meet with regular day characters we want to see while we are dressed up. We grab a quick bite to eat at 5:30 and then get in a character line by 6. We eat again while waiting for the second parade to start.

Thanks, it does! Going to check out Airtran.

I got all overwhelmed and booked a TA. LOL So far she's been great, we put our deposit down for All Star Movies and sent her my tentative itinerary for her to look over. I got the Photopass+, I know it's kind of a splurge but I'm tired of not being in any pictures! I then went over and set up a rental from Apple Strollers and got that out of the way. It feels so official now! Can't believe it's still 6 months away.

I finished the evening by causing my DH's eyes to glaze over as I went on and on about the different resort choices. LOL I'm still holding onto a sliver of hope that the discount they release for October will give me cause to upgrade to a moderate, I have fallen in love with CBR! I know it's not the sensible choice, people always seem to say POR/POFQ but the resort just looks so pretty and I love the looks of that pirate splash pool. Though I also really like how ASMo looks so I know there will be no disappointment either way. Kids will love it.
