So the anticipation of our upcoming October trip was killing us, so....
We just booked a short trip May 10-15 to enjoy the Flower & Garden Festival. We are going to have a very happy 2 year old when we surprise her!! So excited!!
Yay for you! I have had a nightmare morning. Woke up at 4:45 to login. The new site wouldn't allow me to do 180+10 so I tried the "old one". It allowed me to put in resort reservation, but then said it couldn't find it. So I called at 6:00 CST. On hold for 20 minutes, then made all reservations. Only BOG one I could get was 8:00 at night so I booked it anyway instead if taking one on a different day. After I hung up, I realized it was during the only time I could see MEP that trip so hubby waited on hold for me while I took my daughter to school. After a 45 minute wait, the agent said she was sorry, but they are experiencing system maintenance and to try back in a few hours. Really? It took 45 minutes to tell me that? Now I get to call back again later and see if it's up. If I hadn't been so tired when I was on the phone I wouldn't have made such a crazy decision! Hopefully when I call later I won't be on the phone for too long![]()
Oh, titansgal, that sounds like a terrible morning. So sorry to hear you ran into trouble! Sending you good vibes for good news on your next call.![]()
I think doing a character meal where you aren't up and down the whole time at a buffet makes a lot of sense with three kids (our set up too!). For lunch, Akershus has a buffet of meats, cheeses, fish, etc. that you can grab for appetizers. The main course is served "family style" -platters of food brought to your table. For us, this is the best of both worlds. One of the adults can go get a plate of food when we arrive to quiet any "starving" kids but then sit the rest of the time seeing the princesses come by (with cameras ready) and being served main meal and dessert.
We also really like Garden Grill, which is only family style. The characters there are Mickey, Chip, Dale, and Pluto. The whole restaurant slowly spins, so the view changes and we've found the food to be pretty good. It's quieter than most character meals and because of the set up of the circular restaurant, our kids can only see the characters right before they come and right after they leave. (So, they don't spend the whole meal pining for their favorites far across the room).
Yea!! You've booked a trip!!
According to the PS calculator, you will be 180 days out on 4/11. But, you can also call DW and talk to a CS rep and they will confirm your day. I made our reservations this morning online (online opens an hour earlier than the phones), but I had to go through a British Disney link to avoid a glitch in the system that didn't recognize the 10-day out rule. There are a few threads on DIS that will walk you through that process if the glitch is still there on your day. It wasn't hard and I was able to get all the reservations I wanted long before the phone lines opened up for the day.![]()
Yall we have an October facebook page if anyone wants to join in, too. https://www.facebook.com/groups/353374061381487/
Thanks!! What time can I do it online? Is it 7 or 8?
I'll try to find that thread on booking through the UK version. If I do that, I can book the whole week out on the 11th, right? That would be awesome![]()
Ok, one more question.
Have they changed the system lately? (Hence the need for the old website)
If I log on at 6am on the 11th (180 days out), can I book all 5 days online then? That's how I've always done it. Have you all tried? Will it only let me book that one day at first?
Forgive my questions, I'm getting antsy![]()
