Congrats! I love the F&G festival. Darn school gets in the way of so much fun. :rotfl: Have a great trip!

Yay for you! I have had a nightmare morning. Woke up at 4:45 to login. The new site wouldn't allow me to do 180+10 so I tried the "old one". It allowed me to put in resort reservation, but then said it couldn't find it. So I called at 6:00 CST. On hold for 20 minutes, then made all reservations. Only BOG one I could get was 8:00 at night so I booked it anyway instead if taking one on a different day. After I hung up, I realized it was during the only time I could see MEP that trip so hubby waited on hold for me while I took my daughter to school. After a 45 minute wait, the agent said she was sorry, but they are experiencing system maintenance and to try back in a few hours. Really? It took 45 minutes to tell me that? Now I get to call back again later and see if it's up. If I hadn't been so tired when I was on the phone I wouldn't have made such a crazy decision! Hopefully when I call later I won't be on the phone for too long :)

Oh, titansgal, that sounds like a terrible morning. So sorry to hear you ran into trouble! Sending you good vibes for good news on your next call. :goodvibes

What better place to celebrate 40 years of marriage than at WDW? We are planning an Oct '13 trip. Before I accepted a new job, they had to agree to let me take time off for my WDW trip. Priority, you know!

I just booked at trip for Oct 8-13! I'm excited!! :hyper:

So, I've done this like a zillion times, but I get worried every time. For dining reservations, what/when is the best time? Online at 7am? Or just call?

And can someone tell me what day I can do this (arriving on Oct 8)... I don't want to miscalculate. I'm sure someone on here has figured it all out :)

I'm going to try to figure out my wish-list ahead of time, so that when I can book, I can be somewhat organized.

Thanks guys!!!!

Yea!! You've booked a trip!! :)

According to the PS calculator, you will be 180 days out on 4/11. But, you can also call DW and talk to a CS rep and they will confirm your day. I made our reservations this morning online (online opens an hour earlier than the phones), but I had to go through a British Disney link to avoid a glitch in the system that didn't recognize the 10-day out rule. There are a few threads on DIS that will walk you through that process if the glitch is still there on your day. It wasn't hard and I was able to get all the reservations I wanted long before the phone lines opened up for the day. :cool1:

Thanks! I made it through after about 30 minutes and the wonderful agent made the changes. As she was entering the last one they were telling them to get out of their computers right away as they were taking the system down again. Thankfully, my change went through and I am now 100% happy with all of my meals. I spent the rest of the day playing with the new My Disney Experience app. I have to admit I love it!

We got all of our reservations to. Website gave me fits with 180+10 so I had to call them in. But got "Be our guest" 5 pm on 10/9 :). No problem booking Akershus, BBB, or Pirates League. Excited!

For a family going for the first time, which character meals would you suggest? We'll probably only do 2, maybe 3. I'm leaning Ohana breakfast to see Mickey, and Akershus (breakfast? lunch?) for the princesses. My kids are DS 8, DD 5, and DS 2. I was thinking Ohana over CM because my 2-year-old makes buffets hard, though I think Akershus is a buffet? DD would like to see the princess I'm sure, but not sure if CRT is necessary. My reservation date isn't until the end of the month, if I'm going to make any. Is it necessary to get reservations for Sci-Fi?

I think doing a character meal where you aren't up and down the whole time at a buffet makes a lot of sense with three kids (our set up too!). For lunch, Akershus has a buffet of meats, cheeses, fish, etc. that you can grab for appetizers. The main course is served "family style" -platters of food brought to your table. For us, this is the best of both worlds. One of the adults can go get a plate of food when we arrive to quiet any "starving" kids but then sit the rest of the time seeing the princesses come by (with cameras ready) and being served main meal and dessert.

We also really like Garden Grill, which is only family style. The characters there are Mickey, Chip, Dale, and Pluto. The whole restaurant slowly spins, so the view changes and we've found the food to be pretty good. It's quieter than most character meals and because of the set up of the circular restaurant, our kids can only see the characters right before they come and right after they leave. (So, they don't spend the whole meal pining for their favorites far across the room).

Thank you! So glad to hear that about Akershus, it sounds perfect. I didn't know that Garden Grill rotated, I will have to look into that one more closely. :)

Thanks!! What time can I do it online? Is it 7 or 8?

I'll try to find that thread on booking through the UK version. If I do that, I can book the whole week out on the 11th, right? That would be awesome :)

Ok, one more question.

Have they changed the system lately? (Hence the need for the old website)

If I log on at 6am on the 11th (180 days out), can I book all 5 days online then? That's how I've always done it. Have you all tried? Will it only let me book that one day at first?

Forgive my questions, I'm getting antsy :yay:

We just booked a trip for Oct 20-27th. :) I am excited because we were going to skip it this year.....we just got back from a DCL cruise and decided to take a break from Disney trips until our trip in March. Ummmm.....yeah!

So we booked 2 villas at Saratoga one for us (DH and me) and one for my parents.

Always love going to F&W! Always do MNSSHP but not sure if we will this year?

I requested to join the FB group!

Glad I found this thread!

Here's a link to the thread I used. There are a couple common mistakes they mention, so it's worth reading. I believe that the you can start making reservations at 6:00am. It was 4:00am in my time zone!

I still saw posts today from people have the same trouble, but you could look when it's your time. Hopefully, the glitch will be fixed soon!

Yes, you are allowed to book all 5 days online on your 180 days out day. If the glitch still exists, the regular DW site will only let you do the 11th. In which case, you can either use the British site or wait an hour for the phones to open up. The British site takes you to the old Disneyworld site, which still works well.

We are booked at the ASMo, October 5 - 10. It will be me, DS (8), my mom, my sister, my nephew (2), my cousin, and her son (4). This will be my mom, sister, and nephews 2nd trip, but my nephew was a baby so this will be like his 1st trip. This will be my cousin and her son's 1st trip.

I was able to get all my ADRs, but I did have to use the old site. We will have dinner at Chef Mickey's, Coral Reef, and 'Ohana, and breakfast at Hollywood & Vine and Tusker House. All repeats for my son and I, except H&V.
