Thanks for posting that makes me feel better about going during Gay Days. Last year we went Columbus Day weekend and that was pretty busy; but the weekdays on either side were mellow. Hoping it'll be the same, busy for the weekend but calmer on the weekdays. We've added a few nights to the beginning of the trip at the DLH we'll be there to check out the monorail pool on 9/29 & 30 before checking into our VGC 2 bedroom on Oct 1.Just dropping in to say...You guys will have a GREAT time. We went the first weekend in OCT last year. It was Gay Days and everyone said it would be packed. It was busy but not horrible. We had such a great time my girls cried when we left. Have a great time and take lots of pics!![]()
Our last days was a Monday. It rained but it was a great day...no one was there. I remember being on main street and having the mad hatter to ourselves. But even on the busiest day...Friday...our longest wait was for TOT during the part and it was 60 mins...not too bad since everyone went over there that night. Thanks for posting that makes me feel better about going during Gay Days. Also very excited to see that Electronica will definitely be happening during out staywould have been disappointed if that went away right before we went. Going to have to tighten up the budget this month - hadn't been planning on buying tickets until July or August but with the prices going up on Sunday we're going to have to just bite the bullet early and buy our AP's tomorrow I think since it looks like getting 8-day hoppers is impossible for Americans (at least Flight Centre told me that, going to call the DLR ticket office tomorrow to confirm) and we don't want to not have the option of going into the parks every day of our trip ...
Its getting closer!
109 days until the start of Halloween Time! Soon it will be 100 days...50 days...14 days! It will be before we know it.
Thanks for the info Traci! I guess just having always had trips where we stay in the park till late closing everyday the thought of having to leave early innitially worried me. I'm now definitely keen to go to the party but as it's on 4 times during our stay we could probably only afford to go once, when I told my mom she baulked at the thought of having to dress up!Me however, I'm getting pretty keen on a costume!

Just another quick question if anyone can help, can we buy the tickets online?

Kia ora fellow Kiwi! We are also planning a Halloween visit to DL in October. Not sure what date we will do MHP but I'm thinking it will be Tues 25th, as we only arrive on the 21st, and after a 16 hr flight (we have to go via Sydney- aargh!) I don't think our kids will be in any fit state for a party that night!
I'm not sure how you buy tickets online either - I know annual pass (AP) holders can buy them already via the Disney website: http://disneyland.disney.go.com so assume it will be open to all comers on July 1st. Have you checked out the Aussie/Kiwi forum here?: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=177
A lot of people on it are planning trips to WDW in Florida but they may be able to answer your question.
How long are you staying and what hotel? We are at Hojo from Oct 21- Nov 5 (we have a 14 day park hopper pass!) Still planning our Halloween costumes: one son wants them to go as Phineas and Ferb but the other wants to be Captain Jack Sparrow! - hmmmmm...

No one older than 12 is allowed to wear a costume at Disneyland at Halloween time except at the Mickey Halloween Nights. Any other times of the year, the age is no one older than 9. Are you going to one of those? We didn't go but there was one last year when we were there and it was so fun to see!
