October 2008 code watch

Subscribing... Made rez today for POR using my AAA discount. Waiting for Florida residents codes to see If I get a better deal.

Where will this announcement take place? The Disney website? We are going the Oct 4th-8th. Staying at the Pop doing 3days at the World, after a 7day Disney cruise... would love to save some additional money!

The current promo ends today, so my wishful thinking is hoping something comes out this week. We already have a room only booked, actually two reservations because the first three days were covered in the last promo, saved me about 150 more than AAA. Hoping to do better on the second. With ticket prices going up, I'm hoping they offer room only discount and I'll buy my tickets at the end of this week.

Of course nothing ever works that well so we'll see. I'd hate to buy my tickets and then an awsome package deal comes out.

We are currently booked at CSR Oct 10-21 with three rooms, for 11 people. Our group recently dropped to 10 so we have decided to switch to 2 rooms at the Poly. Right now we have a AAA discount, but are hoping for something better (we have only 1 AP).

I was thinking I should change the ressie before any new codes are released, as there will likely be less availability. I am worried thoough, that my switch to a deluxe will be less likely to allow the discounts.

What should I do? Switch now, or hang onto what I have and wait?

I got an email the other day from Disney Visa with a code that was good for certain dates in September. The code expires August 10th.

I'm desperately waiting for October discounts, preferably an Annual Pass discount! I am traveling with my brother and his family, and he insists we "have to stay in walking distance of Epcot (aka Swan, Dolphin, YC, BC, Boardwalk) and at a discount!". I been trying to get him to consider more options, but so far he won't! If we can't get an Epcot resort discount (and I doubt we will on a standard room) - then we have no backup plan!

My brother also said that if we can't get a room discount for all 6 nights in the same resort, then try to get a discount on an individual night basis at any of the 5 Epcot hotels, and we can switch everyday if we must! Yeah - like I want to switch hotels 6 times in 6 days! My brother said we can pack light to make switching easier. They want to go commando-style at the parks, so "we won't hardly be in the room anyways so it doesn't matter if we are in different hotels each day".

I actually like to unpack and unwind in my room, so switching 6 times in 6 days is beyond absurd to me.

So I need a discount - please DISNEY!! Or I need a new family - will anyone out there adopt me???

update: ok, just read on another thread that Nov Ap rates came out last year on Aug 5. Wonder if that is the case for this year for Oct. Sheesh, they sure make you wait a long time to make AP plans. Then it's scramble scramble, lol.

Mine is due on the 19th. From what I understand, even if we have already paid off our packages we can still call and be credited back the discount amount providing the resort we booked has availability with the discount code. Or at least I hope I understood that right!

You do get a refund but I was thinking that would be less I have to come up with between now and then. I only get 2 paychecks before that date. OOPs actually one!!!!

Okay!! Take us off the other code watches---we decided on October!! We are going on the 25th through the 2nd of Nov. I am soooo excited. We are going to surprise our kids again! We will leave on a Sat. and tell them on a thurs. night!! I am only telling them so they can understand where all their clothes will be!!Kinda hard to pack for them when they are getting older...a little more inquisitive

We got a tower theme park view at the Cont. I REALLY wanted to do the Poly, but the CR is hubby's fave, so I ain't complaining So, are we still looking at the 15th for a code to come out? Hope so!! If not we may have to bump down our room We really don't want to do that!

I figured going in Oct would make it easier to pack also--just shorts, no coats and tob. or gloves. I will bring each one a pr of jeans and a windbreaker, just in case- but that's it.So, add us to the list---and for all of you wondering if you should surprise your kids-definitely!!

subscribing also. We are headed down on Oct. 17th- 26th. We have the AKL concierge booked for 2 nights then headed to our timeshare unit at Sheraton Vistana Resort. Hope to get some extra pixxie dust for our 2 nights of bliss on DIsney Property.
