October 2008 code watch

We are going in October also and are patiently waiting for some discount code. We went last October and I remember the discount for Disney Visa cardholders came out the 1st or 2nd of August and the discount was enough to pay for our dining plan. I'm hoping this is the case again this year. My balance is due in three weeks. Can't wait to meet that Mouse again.

I sometimes receive emails from Disney Visa, sometimes regular mail. Mousesavers.com also has all the discounts out there on a timely basis. If you are on these boards most likely someone will start a thread. Have fun on your first WDW trip! Hope you have many disney dollars to spend!!

I have a Magic Your Way Package Plus Basic Dining for 3 adults booked at the CSR from Oct. 22 to Oct. 29. If they issue a discount code for October that would apply how would it work? Do I automatically get the discount applied? Would I have to call them and ask about it? Does the reservation have to be cancelled and then re-booked? If so I would hate to lose all of my ADRs. Any info would be appreciated. )

WELCOME TO THE DIS!!

If a discount comes out you need to call and get it applied. It won't just automatically be applied to your package. I don't think the reservation has to be cancelled and rebooked. You will just owe less and if you have already paid it off you'll have a credit on your account. Even if you did have to cancel and rebook (which you won't) you wouldn't lose your ADR's as that is something separate. HAVE FUN!

Disboards will have a notice for Disney Visa cardholders, advising them about discounts offered before they go to the public. You can also start calling Disney Reservations line and ask about the Visa discount, beginning on August 1st. If it is available, they will have the information. I'm waiting to start on Friday to look for a discount. Good luck!!!

Wow - August 1? That seems really early since past October discounts have been released mid-August. But I guess the early bird gets the worm, huh?

A different thread showed dates that were included in a bounceback offer from earlier in 2008. Only the first two weeks of October were included in that offer. Do the experts here think that a code, if issued, in August will also include only those dates in October? I hope not!

People that were staying at a Disney resort received these offers. The offer was a great discount if you booked a future stay (and paid the deposit?) before you checked out for your current stay. And I believe it covered certain dates too.

I feel your pain!!! I think I will explode before the codes come out! I never get to use a code. I've actually got two ressies right now...so I'm hoping I can apply a code to at least one of my ressies!
