Is it worthwhile to get a Disney Visa card, i.e, are there codes that are offered just to Visa holder? We're going Oct 8-14 and right now have the AAA discount only . . . .

Usually if a general public code is going to be released it'll be released for Disney Visa cardholders a week or two before so they have first shot at getting the rooms. There isn't an annual fee so you might get one to have just in case!

I see that some people are getting an email for a discounted package. I am going to be so frustrated if I don't get something, especially considering that I have received emails, pins, etc. for multiple other times this year that I can not use!!!

I'm waiting for a code to come out for October too! We are going October 7-13 for my birthday. We are looking for either an AP or Florida Resident code, but any code will be appreciated if those aren't released..... I don't have a Disney Visa though and I'm not interested in getting one. With my luck that will be the only code released!!

IF a DV code becomes available, how do you prove that you have a DV? Do you need to pay for the room with the DV right then to use the code? The reason I ask, is my DH carries the card. I don't know if I need it for proof when/if I call or not. Can someone please let me know? TIA!

When I used the DV code last year, my original deposit was on my Discover card so they had to credit me back my money on the Discover card and put through the deposit on my DV. All deposits and balances is supposed to be paid in full with your DV card.

OK, that'll be what happens with me too then, IF a code comes with the DV. We didn't get a DV until after we made our reservations. Thanks for the information! Still waiting....patiently!!!

We checked the DV website last night (DH hadn't even registered yet! So he wouldn't have recieved an email anyway! UGH! ) There wasn't anything there and I haven't seen anything on the Disney site or this site yet. If you call and find out anything PLEASE let us know! TIA!!!!

Another off topic question. Should I purchase hopper passes today, since the rumor of an eminant price increase seems genuine? I don't think its a good idea since I'll have to buy them as part of any deal though right?

If you are doing a room only reservation you won't need to buy tickets with your reservation. If you plan on purchasing the dining plan then you will need tickets as part of your package and may want to hold off.

There really is no way of 'signing up for a deal' per say. You check this site daily and check the disneyworld site also. People swear by signing up to recieve a Disney planning DVD, but I doubt that would get a code in time now for October, but you could try that.

DH had not yet registered on the Disney Visa site, which I told him to do so that we could check our points, etc. That's what I was talking about in my last post.

I just called and the CM was very nice. No Disney Visa code as of yet for October :-( Hopefully something will come out.

If I call the number listed, can you get offers on moderates and deluxe resorts too? All new to me....strangely because we are Disney nuts and this will be our 6th trip in 9 years.

I would call immediately and ask what you can get.....one never knows with Disney! Good luck!

Just call the number on the code and ask if you can get the code to apply to other categories. When I got my PIN code it was only good after 10/19. Unfortunately, we were going on 10/15.

What day of the week do new codes usually get announced?? The last code ended 7/27 right? I thought we'd have one by now. Hopefully by the end of the week.
