Hi Guys! Just checking in! Today has been a yucky day. It has been raining on and off for most of the day and to top it off, My aunt died today. She was having problems, but she was getting better and came home from the hospital on monday. SHe took a turn for the worse yesterday and died this morning. She was my godfather's second wife, but she was a very special person to me. It took awhile to get close to her ( I was EXTREMELY close with my first aunt who died of breast cancer when I was a junior in high school), but I did get close and let her into my heart (I know korny). I feel really bad about her passing. She will probably be shown Tuesday and Wednesday and the funeral on Thursday, but I'm not sure yet. So if I go MIA for awhile, that is where I'll be.

Thanks for letting me "cut loose" about this. I just feel really bad and had to talk to someone!

Jeanne, where do you usually saty in Nags Head? Since we were driving through and not sure if we would be there Sat. or Sun. we went without a reservation and had to find a place. We stayed at the Nags Head Inn at milepost 14. Since we were only there one night, it worked for us even though the parking lot view was all we could get. We want to go back next summer and stay for a week. I think I would rather rent a house then. Our friends who just moved to northern Virginia may go with us. Don't you go every year?

Sorry, I didn't post Sat. or Sun. I had a bad headache Sat. and just wasn't up to staring at the computer screen. The only excuse I have for yesterday is laziness. With the laundry finished, I just flopped on the sofa most of the day or played with Turner and Stanley. I guess I was in a funk knowing I had to go back to work today. So, here it is Monday morning and I should be getting ready for work and I am here on the computer. Please, help me....

I promise to keep the house clean, run all important errands, walk the dog, etc, etc, etc. Just please, please, please....

OK, it was worth a try. I didn't think it would work, but I tried. I'll go dry my hair now and put on something besides shorts!

Welcome back Susan. Sounded like a great vacation. Now I just need to book my vacation!!! I hate going back to work after a vacation, it's just not fair that we have to go back to work!!!

How was the bridal shower Jeanne?

My weekend wasn't very exciting. I went out for some drinks with some friends on Friday, then on Saturday my DBF and I were supose to go to Six Flags but he lost the tickets. So Saturday and Sunday I just sat watching TV, very boring!!!

Another busy day yesterday. The 1 shoing on Saturday is a no go, not enough storage. The other is from out of state and we are 1 of 3 in contention.

Saturday we went to a Victorian Mansion to see about having the wedding and Reception there. It was really beautiful so it looks like we will be having it there. Today after work I am meeting Missy at a bridal shoppe so she can try on dresses. Looks like we are on our way.

I loved the house pictures Denine. It looks really cool How big is it? How many bedrooms?? Baths?? Will it have a gas fireplace??

Barb: Thanks! It will be about 3000 sq ft plus a finished basement. It has 4 bedrooms plus an office. We added the morning room onto the back of the kitchen. That is where the table will be (the wall of windows in the back picture) There will be a gas fireplace with floor to ceiling stone. There are 2 and 1/2 baths. We talked about putting a powder room in the basement, but decided not to.

The place for the reception sounds beautiful!

Barb, don't be afraid to try David's bridal. That is where we got Stacey's dress. They treated us very good. I know that the Springs has some stores. I know that there was a brand new one that just opened but I can't remember where it was. We were all over the Springs on our "vacation" looking for medical equipment for Ted's dad. By the way, how is Sally doing?

Heidi, come on home. Don't expect dinner because you know by now that I don't cook when dad isn't home. Good tv night remember.

Garry, could you please define the word "lurker"?

Wow, will it ever slow down for us??? We have been going non stop since Sat afternoon for Ted's dad. I can't even begin to describe how exhausted I am. I look forward to sitting in front of the tv tonight and doing absolutely NOTHING!

I haven't even been lurking. I was exhausted last week...it started monday when I walked home from the bus bearfoot because of the ankle deep water that turned into knee deep water...and then home to the water seeping into the living room!!! It was just coming down too hard to run off and came in between the foundation (slab) and the frame of the house.

Julie...sorry to hear about your aunt.

Denine-We can all move in with you...the size of that house!!!! I vote for the next reunion at Denine & Jerry's!

Went to a cook out on Saturday and now I am buying a harp and starting lessons...something I have wanted to do for a few years now. Hey, maybe I can make a few $ playing at tea's! Yeah right!

Jeanne-no wonder we can't get any RN's to work at Blue Cross!! Wow!!! That is some extra pay!!! Is that on top of time and a half if you work over 40?

JULIE: So sorry to hear about your aunt.

SUSAN: I rent the same house every year in Nags Head at Milepost 11 (not far from the Nags Head Inn). I rent through Stan White Realty but you can go online & check out hundreds of houses. I love the house we rent because we can take the dog, it is two blocks from the beach (I can't afford oceanfront), four bedrooms, two baths, air conditioning, w/d, fenced in yard & numerous other extras. Theyeven have houses with your own swimming pool too.

Worked with Joyce today & we had a good day. I guess you figured out I DID go into work for my "INCENTIVE"$$$$$$$ pay on Sunday.

BONNIE: The Union keeps us happy The hospital is really short staffed on the weekends due to vacations.

Going to the eye doctor again tomorrow but will pop in. Hope you all are well. Toodles JEANNE

I made it through the first day back to work. Almost 300 email messages ro get through and several meetings. I have an all day training class on Friday and another class next Mon-Wed. When will I get work done?

Jeanne, thanks for the tip about the realty company for Nags Head. I may have to start looking to plan for next year.

Denine, love the house. Now I can see why you are so excited. I know I would be. It is going to be wonderful.

Bonnie, hope you didn't have a lot of damage from the rain/flooding. Sounds horrible.

Nothing else new here. Just busy trying and I mean TRYING to pick up this house. With three kiddos, it doesn't happen the way it should.

****Brooke update.... Brooke now pulls herself up and stands next to everything. She started this yesterday and now today when she wakes up from her naps, she is standing in her crib holding on with one hand! Today she pulled herself up next to the couch and let go! She stood there for a good 3-4 secs before she realized she was standing on her own. I'm not ready for her to be doing this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well last night I tried to get my mom to sit down for atleast an hour. We watched 2 shows and all through the night she kept getting up and down to do something else. I don't think she was able to rest very much for TV time, she still is doing alot for my grandpa.

I had a bad afternoon yesterday. I got 2 calls from my 2 very close best friends. One called to tell me she was moving to California and would be leaving August 6, that is 2 weeks away. My other friend who I see atleast once or twice a week and talk to her everyday is moving to Florida on September 2 which is like 5 weeks away. I am so sad. No what do I do, they are leaving me behind. They were my partners in crime and we worked together at the daycare. This has not been a very good month for me.

Wow Julie, Brooke is really moving fast. Lucky you, now you will have to keep up with her even more!!!

Tiffany starts school in about 2 weeks. I need to add school clothes and supplies to my schedule. Summer is sure going fast!

We went Wedding dress shopping yesterday. Missy liked a couple of them but I don't think she found "The One" yet.

Sorry Julie, Heidi can't move to OHIO! Mommy would miss her! Gosh, I am 50 and still hit McD's playland. Something is wrong with that picture. Brooke is definitely moving FAST. Unbelievable what that little one accomplishes on a weekly basis. She is determined to keep up with the others!

Poor, poor Heidi. I really do feel for you. It has to be hard on you. Hopefully I am right and Taura moves back within a year. (just my thinking)

Does anyone watch Who Wants to Marry My Dad? I think that Heidi and I figured out who the kids pick. Having Dish Networks version of Tevo (sp) we backed it up at one point and rewatched a certain part.

I am with Bonnie. The next reunion is at Denine and Jerry's. Wow Bonnie, sorry about all the water! That must have been SOME rain!

Good morning.....well I am back to normal whatever that is I think. I went to the doctor yesterday and he said Colorado is a bad place for kidney stones because it is so dry here and people don't drink enough water. Believe me I am hitting the water from now on...I thought I drank a lot but I guess not enough.

I watch Who Wants to Marry my Dad, Sandy. Are you are talking about the picture that shows a blonde head with the veil that is Susan? I couldn't remember if that was when they tried on the wedding dresses or is at the end of the show. I think I liked Marilyn the best and I don't care for Stacey but what do I know.

Do you watch For Love or Money......I wonder if they are bringing the other players back since this is going so fast.

Got the pictures of your house Denine.....it looks really nice and didn't you say Amish are doing carpenter work....you couldn't get any better.

When I went to the dr yesterday he frozen several wart-mole things. They are blistering today and look yucky....only one hurt and that was a big one on my back....Dick told me it didn't hurt at all and the dr was laughing and I said did you look at his back and he said no. He had frozen a lot on his arms that was pre cancer so I said you better look at his back. He said none was precancer but he had some big ones that looked like mine and I said you better get them....he laughed and said ok, and then he said he felt like he was aiding in spousal abuse. I love my dr...lol

Sorry your friends are moving Heidi, I had one move a couple years ago. You have to change your routines when that happens.

I don't know what we are going to do with all that space, but to get everything we wanted, that is how big it turned out. I hope they start doing the dry wall today. The room will really look like something. We are getting the basement finished for free.
