October 11, 2014 7-Night Southern Caribbean Cruise on Disney Magic (San Juan)

We booked last Dec this trip, and back to PC. Two of us in our 50's. Meeting friends we made on the Dec cruise who are booked too! They are also in their 50's. Small problem: first grandchild now due oct 23 and hubby doesn't want to miss it. We are due back the 19th. He is afraid baby will come while we are gone. Thinking about what to do....

It's a very real possibility. My little man was due on October 23 and went into labor on the 17th. Never know when those guys decide to make an appearance. Personally I would reschedule. You would feel so out of touch while you were away and if you don't want to miss it, the only thing you can do is stay home. :(. But wow how cool is that! Best reason to cancel EVER!

Well folks, we've changed our cruise date to August of 2015. Hope we won't have to change it again, but maybe I'll see you around!

Sorry to see you're jumping ship, but have a great time on your new date.

That is a tough one, I feel for you. Congratulation and good luck with your decision.

Wow that is a tough one! So many babies are late. Two questions what does your daughter or son think and would you be able to be in the room? Also what about skipping the B2B?
I was just thinking this might be an issue with me next year. I am doing the WBPC my daughter is thinking its about time to start her family. It is a tough decision. I will say Grandchildren are perfect ! You will love being Grandparents.

Agreed! Tough decision..... We won a trip to Aulani last year and were booked for June 8-16...... My daughter was due to have a planned c-section on June 19, but you just never know. If her water had broken, we would have missed it! Some things are more important..... Whatever you decide, it will be great!

Wow! Just finished reading all 75 pages.....what a great group. I am trying to talk my husband into booking this for our anniversary on 10-13. It would be our first trip without the kids. Sounds like there are other couples that will be traveling alone. Does anyone know when the paid in full date is for this cruise? We just paid off our July med cruise so I want to give my husband a few more days until I spring this on him ;)

Thanks so much! We will be on the med cruise from July 14-26, and I was going to wait to book it then to get the OBD but I'm so afraid it will be sold out by July.

Has anyone researched the islands yet? I'm wondering what each is known for. Like maybe which has the best beaches, the best snorkeling, etc. Trying to decide what to do on each island.

There is some good information on the general "2014 Southern Caribbean" Thread. On the first post there are links to most of the islands and possible excursions (based on when Disney last visited) as well as some ideas on things to do on your own.

I know snorkeling in Grenada to see those statues are a must but that's as far as we've looked :)

Just Google 'Grenada statues Snorkel' and you'll see pics. Very neat.

Haven't looked at any excursions yet, but I know that's a must do.

I wish Disney would finalize their excursions. Biting at the bit for them! My husband and I have done 5 DCL alone, and 4 with grandchildren. Both are fun. It's nice to have alone time, but then again, there is nothing like the joy on the face of a child.

Hey Cali Cruiser. We are on the Med cruise also. Can't wait. Don't know which I'm anticpating more.

I know exactly what you mean. I can only focus/get excited for one cruise at a time :) so much time and effort goes into planning each vacation. I give lots of credit to those that can multi-task and plan two cruises at the same time. Hope your Greece planning is going well. See you in Venice!!

Finally it is time to say Hello :wave2:

We have booked this cruise – and the Repo – last summer, but wasn’t sure until we got our flight reservations. We are ready now!

It will be me (Trixie) and my collegue, friend and travel buddy Kris.

We would like to join the FE group (PM to Scott, right?) and the Roaming Gnome group (have to look back all the 76 pages to find the woman/men in charge). Sorry, we are not on FB – hope this won’t be a problem. :disrocks:

Please be patient with my english – we are from the Homeland of Garden Gnomes, so english is not our native language.

As far as I could see during the 76 pages a majority of you will stay in Old Town San Juan. We choose a hotel in Fajardo, because it is near to El Yunque National Forest and I read about Bio Bay and the manatees there.

See you all soon! :dance3::jumping1:

I had to Google it to find out where the Homeland of Garden Gnomes was. Welcome aboard. Not the farthest to travel to the cruse (that honor still belongs to out Australian cruisers), but you're probably a close send.

Sorry about the Gnomes - I just thought about them because of the Roaming Gnome.

Wow, Australia, that's quite a journey.
