Oct 30 2010 7 Night Western (PART 2)

Janice, we were assigned to Stateroom 6560 a few weeks ago. :)

Thanks!

I just went in to add it and it turns out I had it on there - but you were also still in the unassigned area! I think I'm on board now!!!!

We too are still GTY.

As for Breakdowns of kids ages here it is:

Girls aged 0-3: 4
Boys aged 0-3: 6

Girls aged 4-12: 26
Boys aged 4-12: 18

Girls aged 13-17: 6
Boys aged 13-17: 5

Adult Couples: 36
Adult Singles: 5

These are numbers for Group A.
Somebody do correct me if these numbers are wrong. I think I have them right. :thumbsup2

Thanks again everyone for the compliments on the tags! :goodvibes

I have been working diligently on the ToT the last few days. Before I start printing out clues let me ask this:

The kids will be doing this in groups (I assume), whether with parents or possibly the older kids in groups with the friends they have already met onboard. I would prefer not to print more clues than I need, so I am thinking one clue of per "group" is sufficient. Is this a safe assumption or should I print more so each child can have one? I know I haven't really posted the "rules" yet so if that confuses everyone I apologize..just wanted to make sure my thinking was correct in that most likely we won't have any (or many) kids breaking off to go on their own alone. ;)

Thanks! :goodvibes

I think you might be able to cut down the number of printed clues, by issuing just one set per family. That way, siblings can share. I will be taking my kids together, so they can use one set of clues. And if a child from a one family's stateroom breaks off to go with a child from another, chances are at least one of them will have a set of clues.

You probably could also post them here, swear the parents to secrecy and then each participant could print out as many sets as they think they are going to need for their children. That would save you paper, ink and worry about how to distribute the clues on before 10/31!

That was the plan originally but to prevent everyone from flocking in one big group and overwhelming each stop there will be 3 different routes that I am going to assign at check in. Each route will take them to different stops in a different order. More work, yes but I think it will make for a better hunt. LOL, at least I hope! :rotfl2: And even though it would be possible to assign those prior to the cruise, I don't know how the older kids will flesh out. I know my older two are looking forward to meeting up with kids on the ship and ToT'ing with them but who knows how that will go, how many of them will meet up, etc.

But yes I was thinking as you mentioned that one per family with maybe a handful of extras per route should be sufficient, even with "breakaways" :thumbsup2

The DCL Halloween Teens Facebook group page is done. I created a separate account so that the owner/creator can be a handed off to some else if the want the responsibility

I created a gmail account - disneycruise102810@gmail.com and used it to create the Facebook account. The group "creator" is a fictitious person named Walt Roy (I know...how creative) and currently the only member.

To access the group page log into your Facebook account and type into the search box at the top of the page the following: DCL Halloween Teens

You will see the group and graphic used to identify our cruise. Once you click on that group you will be directed to the group page where you will see a link to join.

Enjoy,

Jeff

Update: I PM'd everybody I know that has a teen, please pass the word along to anyone you know that is sailing with a teen in case I missed someone. Thanks.

These look great - but I want to see mine!!!! :yay:

I just worked an 11 hour day!! I am so freakin tired!! But, when I can buy that extra "Miami Vice"at the sailaway party, I will be happy!!!!

I'm with you, Janice - DH was complaining about having to work overtime this week...I told him he wouldn't be complaining when he's buying 2 for 1 Rum Runners on Castaway Cay! :cool1:

Someone on the main board posted today that a final payment for her cruise has not shown up yet on her credit card and it's been 5 days. It reminded me of that $1000.00 payment I made early last January (or it might have been the end of December) that to this day still has never shown up on my credit card account. Yet DCL has received that payment from the CC company! Being that it's now almost 8 1/2 months since the payment was made, I just may be in the clear from that ever showing up, do you think? WOW, a $1000.00 discount on this cruise! Now THATS, Pixie Dust! :)

Wow! or :woohoo:! As long as DCL says paid in full though! I know I am anal about my credit card statement when something takes a long time to show up it stresses me! 8+ moths and that large of an amount I would be totally wack! :rotfl:

Thank you for all of the time that you and the others are putting into making this an extra-special experience for our families!!

You are all so welcome! It is my pleasure!! :goodvibesI'm so excited for the cruise, I think we are all going to have such a blast!!!

Hi Everyone!

The lanyard/name tags look fantastic - our names our spelled correctly.

We would be happy to be on both the A & B FE list - I'm not crafty enough to make gifts, so as long as I have a couple weeks to purchase gifts before we go, I'm fine :)

Question about the kid clubs: We last sailed in August 2008. It looks like there have been some major changes to the clubs since then. Our son will be 11.5 for this cruise. I know that Ocean Quest has been added - it was brand new on our last cruise, but it was solely a place to "hang out" for 11-13 year olds and had no organized activities at all. A lot of people were upset about it on the panama cruise since eventually the kids got bored and started hanging out all over the ship - particularly in the stair wells. The Oceanears Lab was for kids up to 12, so the kids who wanted more organized stuff went there. Is this still pretty much how it works or have they removed the 11-12 yo from the lab and made them just Ocean Quest? Any info would be appreciated so I can prepare DS11 if it is going to be very different.

Everything is wonderful!! Thank you!:goodvibes

I am all for the one list per group! My group of 6 kids (3 families) will travel together. Whatever is easiest for you!

Our then 11 year old DS was in Ocean Quest in November 2008, and there WERE organized activities, just like the other clubs. It was not just a hang-out. He LOVED it, and can't WAIT to go back! Never bored, not once.:thumbsup2

Oh good! On the Panama cruise, I believe that Ocean Quest was VERY new - I know everyone wanted to go get a look at it. The lack of activities was a major topic of conversation - on a 15 day cruise with lots of sea days, the tweens seemed to be getting very bored! I'm glad to hear that DCL dealt with that :) Are the 11 yo welcome at the lab also or just at Ocean Quest?

On the site, it says the lab is ages 8 to 12-

My NOW 11 year old will probably want more of Quest than Lab, but who knows?

JEN- I LOVE the lanyards!! You are the BEST!!! :lovestruc
