Sandy: I put a little salt and olive oil on the turkey, meaty side down and roast in the oven. Your way sounds good too.

I am hungry! Just waiting for Jerry to get home around 3.

Julie - wow, they are really working her! It's good experience though, I hope she takes your advice and really network. I am rooting for the Saints but there is no doubt that the Colts will when! Hoping to watch all the Superbowl but with the girls coming this weekend, it might be a little more difficult!

Denine - That was sweet of your friend to send you the card. I stayed home today because I had an IUD placed today and the cramping is horrible.

Barb - It has been such a long time since I farmed, I bet my farm isn't very pretty!

Mom - How did your appointment go?

Well "Winter Blast 2010", as the new people called it, is history and now we may get a little wintry mix again Thursday night and early next week. What will they call those? Since we don't get a lot of snow around here, we don't have the budget and equipment to dig out so the area pretty much shuts down and waits for the sun to start the melt. Turner did not have school Monday but I did go into work. There were a few slick spots on Monday but Saturday and Sunday were the worst days. My Dad lives on a long, dead end, dirt road 30 miles north and as of this morning his road a driveway were still covered. With it below freezing when I left there this morning, I slid a little but not bad.

Dad seems to be slowing down again. He told me this morning he feels his body slowing down and not to be surprised if his body makes him sleep all a day again soon. He says he just doesn't feel right. I hope that isn't a bad sign. I am surprised he is still with us but he is such a fighter. We go back to the oncologist on Tuesday. We don't leave him alone more than an hour at a time now.

My step-father told me he was worried about me burning my candle at both ends. I know I am but what else can I do? My brother is a huge help but sister is virtually useless!!!

Paul left for Jacksonville, Florida this morning so I have to take Turner to hockey practice tonight and tomorrow night. We have to leave in a about 15 minutes. I think I will try to take a nap in the car while he is in the rink.

CALGON..................................you know what to do!!!

Later!

WOW Susan! I would agree with your step dad, but I was in your same shoes few months ago. You are one tough cookie so I know you will keep going. I think we should call you the energizer bunny!!! Hang in there and know that we are here for you!

Denine, we ARE going to have the superbowl party after all. It's not going to be big. We will have munchies and some alcohol, so if there is anything you would like to bring.....

Well, gonna run!

TTFN

Hey everyone...

Susan: I guess we all just do what we have to when we have to and deal with it all later. It is easier said than done to slow down when you really can't. Just rest when you can.

UGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First, we are now expecting a snowstorm tomorrow into Saturday. It isn't supposed to be as bad here, MAYBE up to 5", but most likely less. However, In Columbus, it starts tomorrow morning and goes into Saturday and they are to have freezing rain as well. Same goes for Dayton which is where we are headed tomorrow morning. I don't know if it is worth it to drive through a snowstorm for a weekend away. On top of that, I woke up with a really sore throat this morning. I haven't told Jerry yet. I am hoping it will go away. So, Jerry was thinking of bugging out of here tonight, but I am not ready to go anywhere tonight. Nothing is packed!

Heidi: Never had one of those, but we didn't have much need for birth control. Hope you are feeling better today.

Red Lobster was really yummy last night. I had a lobster, shrimp, scallop platter with broccoli and rice pilaf, plus those yummy biscuits. Jerry had a steak and baked potato and Kaleigh had mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. She didn't care much for either. I think she would have been happier with the broccoli. Jerry and I ater practically nothing before going out to eat. I had 19 points left plus I have had leftover points the last few days plus the 35 "bonus" points for the week. So, the damage shouldn't be too bad.

Susan - I hope you can take a few minutes for yourself, even if it is just a bubble bath, I don't want you to make yourself sick. Hang in there, we are here for you. We love you!

I forgot to wish Jerry a Happy Birthday on my last post, so..........HAPPY BIRTHDAY JERRY!!!

Denine - I hope your sore throat goes away and you can enjoy the weekend if you decide to go. You can send the snow this way, I am missing all the snow and would love a big snow storm.....either you or Susan need to send us the snow! I love Red Lobster, yum! Ya, the cramps were really bad last night and kept me up all night so I stayed home. The heating pad makes it tolerable. The doctor said the bad cramping will last for about 48 hours so hopefully tomorrow they will be gone!

Heidi: I hope you feel better tomorrow.

It looks like we will probably cancel our weekend. Jerry will look at the weather in the morning and decide then. Then we will have to throw some things in suitcases and go.

Throat is better, but still hurts.

Sandy: How was your turkey? Ours was YUMMY!!!!! I made mashed potatoes and green beans. Kaleigh loves home made mashed taters!

Denine, who doesn't love homemade mashed tators????? I think you are making a wise decision about traveling.

Heidi, how you doing?

Susan, it seems like a body knows how to handle the stress in a situation like yours. We had people worried about us, too. We knew we were exhausted but somehow we managed. You are doing an amazing job!

My hair appt went fantastic. I tipped 30.00. I was so impressed with her. I just love her to death. I did buy some products. Now I hope and pray that I can do it too. I woke up today thinking my hair would be horrible and that I would have to wash it. I woke up looking like when I went down last night. That's a good thing for curly hair.

My physical therapy was today. I had an ultrasound done and also neck traction. I love the traction. It feels good believe it or not. Then the head therapist concentrated on my tight neck muscles. Almost like a massage. I thought for sure I would start drooling as relaxed as I was...LOL
D

I am so excited right now. We booked a Mexican Riviera cruise for October 2011 for our 20th anniversary. The plans are to go on the cruise for a week and then go to DL for a week. We got a secret Cat 6!

Sandy: Glad everything went well with the hair. I am sooo bad at doing hair. I could use a major neck massage. It hurts a lot today. When I was going to PT for my sacroiliac joint, I was jealous of the people with shoulder and neck injures cause they got ultrasound and massages while I was bouncing up and down on the exercise ball or walking backward on the treadmill. LOL!

I am making turkey stock with the carcass. It still has almost an hour left.

Working from home part of the day and taking the rest off. I needed that Calgon time!!

Lot's of heavy rain today and a little freezing rain as well. We're teetering on the edge of an ice storm. May get a few snow flakes tonight and tomorrow morning but this is going to be mostly rain with localized flooding possible. Then they are saying another round of wintry mix possibly Tuesday or Wednesday. I've already had a enough of this. I need some drier weather. I am on the road so much back and forth between home and Dad's (and the ice rink). I want warmer weather and sunshine!!!!!!!!!!! I'm starying to sound like Denine.;) LYMI

Looks like Paul's mom is going to finally get to have her heart surgery. Tentatively scheduled for the 24th. Her infection is finally almost gone.

I'll try to chat a little later. Gotta get on a conference call.

Hey everyone. As you can see, we canceled our weekend in Dayton. They are supposed to get around a foot of snow and the radar this mornin showed freezing rain everywhere. Just not worth it.

My throat was still realy sore this morning. At least the ibuprofen works. But now I think I may have a UTI as well. UGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Susan: I hope you don't get any ice!

party::bday:HAPPY 9TH BIRTHDAY TO G-DOG!!!!! I can't believe my baby boy is 9 already!!!party:

Denine, i hope you are feeling better. The super bowl "party" is gonna start around 6-ish. We will have some munches, but if there is anything you guys would like special, feel free to bring it. Also, since my kiddos have school the next day, they will be going to bed at their normal bedtime, so you might want to bring something for Kaleigh to do when my kids go to sleep. She can play in our basement, but I don't know if she would want to alone.

Susan, I hope you guys get spared the ice! My step son and his wife are beginning their trip back to Ohio. They were hoping for good weather, but I think they aren't gonna get it. They were worried about the moving trucks through the mountains, and I think they might have to make their move back north a little longer then they expected.

Heidi, how are you feeling?

Sandy, did you take pictures of your hair? Would love to see it!

Hi Barb! Any super plans for the weekend?

Hi Sally!

Well gonna run! Have a great day!

So far no ice. BUT....

the heat pump seems to be on the blitz. The unit outside is frozen and making a loud sound. I called and can't get anyone out until tomorrow morning. They told me to turn it to emergency/auxillary heat and that will help thaw it out. I hear the faint sounds of "$$ka-ching$$" Uuuggghhh!:scared1:

I do have a UTI. Went up to the Minute Clinic. Man, this is miserable! I guess it is a good thing we didn't go away.

Susan: Not a good time for the heat to go out. I hope you stay warm.

Julie: Wish G-Dog a happy birthday for us. Unless I am not feeling any better, we will be there around 6-ish. I hope Garry and Becky have a safe move. Are they sure they want to do this?

Sheez, with this stupid arm, neck, shoulder thing, I am getting behind on the computer. I pretty much get on to check in here and that's about it. Then I rush and don't type everything I'm thinking.

My doctor just called to check on me. This is the second time in a week. I'm impressed for today's world!

Oh man, Denine. How horrible if you went away with a UTI!!!!!!

Susan, I can't believe it. You and your weather this year!

Julie, I didn't realize that Garry was moving back. How cool for all three Garry's!! Dad Sr can be with him more. And Gdog will have a big brother!

Going to Avatar tomorrow with Heidi, Chris and girls.popcorn:: We will see it in IMAX 3-D. Doesn't seem like my type of movie but maybe I will be pleasantly surprised like Heidi was!!

I want to go to Cozumel soooo bad. I keep checking on rates :eek:for flight but so far it's a no go. :sad2:

I can't believe that Richard Hatch is going to be on this season's Survivor. I didn't even realize that he is out of jail. :rotfl2:

Denine - Oh yuck, UTI. I drink a lot of cranberry juice hoping that would help prevent any UTI's. I hope you feel better soon. Sorry you had to cancel your trip. How exciting to book a cruise and with a veranda!!!!!

Julie - Have fun at your Superbowl Party, sounds like a lot of fun to me. Happy Birthday to G-Dog, wow 9 years old.

Susan - Oh no, not the heat pump breaking in this cold weather you are having. You just cannot get a break. I am so sorry.

I am feeling better. The cramps are gone now but what is bad is that I burnt myself with the heating pad and have blisters on my stomach now. Of course the blister are right where the top of my pants hit and rub on. Ouch!

Mom - looking forward to a movie day with you guys. Wonder if the girls will actually sit that long for a movie!

The snow has started.

Sandy: I would have been miserable if we went away. I am a bit better right now. The NP also gave me pyridium which helps with the pain.

Jerry went to the Redbox and got Julie & Julia for us to watch tonight.

And yet another reason it is a good thing we didn't go away this weekend. The furnace wasn't working this morning. When the wind and snow comes from the East, the furnace vent gets buried in snow, in this case, Jerry said the snow on that side of the house was taller than him. He is 6'3". So, he went out and finally found the vent but the furnace still wasn't working. He fussed with the furnace for a little while and it is now back on and warming up the house. We didn't know it was coming from the East, we thought the storm was coming from the Gulf.

Still have a sore throat and the UTI. I am trying to fight 2 infections at the same time.
