Oct.19, 02 Cruisers AGAIN

I forgot, Barb: I hope you have a fun day off shopping for prom dresses. I never went to prom, so I buy my fancy gowns now to go on cruises!

Denine, I am like you. I didn't go to Prom so the fancy dresses are fun now. I did go to several Military Balls and we wore long dresses. Mom and Dad couldn't afford much so they were never spectacular.

Good grief, too bad Sally never has anything to do. It is amazing how much that woman gets involved in and how much she travels.

So glad the mountie thing worked.

Denine, I passed on to Heidi about your feelings. Thanks! Good for Jerry! Five pounds is a lot. Ted is on your diet now, too.

Barb, don't forget to look at David's Bridal by Park Meadows for the Prom dress. And don't forget in that same mall is a Neiman Marcus (I belief) outlet store.

Thinking of Krista and Laurie. Hope you both are having a good day.

He's hired for good!!!! Of course I can't wait to pay him! LOL!

Look who he found in Key West!!!!!!!
Hi Bonnie,

Well I'm sorry it's taken me so long to e-mail I've just been very busy recently. Firstly I hope you are well and the weather is improving up there. If it makes you feel any better we've even had a cold front here in the Caribbean this last few days. We are in Key West today (due to a crazy itinery this week) and it's only in the low 70's when it should be in the mid 80's :-).

Unfortunatly I've been having a bit of a bad week. I started to feel very ill at the end of the last cruise and I had to be put in isolation for 4 days (what a nightmare). Luckly I just slept through most of it but by the last day I was starting to climb up the walls. Anyway I'm out now and feeling much better (thank goodness!)

Well it's been a bit of a crazy cruise this week. We left Port Canaveral bound for Key West with low winds and calm seas. At about 10am on Sunday morning (we were due to arrive at Key West at 12:30,) the captain came over the P.A. system to say that we had been contacted by the Key West port authority and told that due to a large storm front moving toward them from the south they would not be able to allow any ships to dock at Key West that day. So we had to divert and the captain decided we would spend Sunday at sea and go straight to Cozumel and arrive there on Monday morning. Anyway all this was quite funny at the time because the seas were still very calm, but then at about 2/3pm we started to hit the storm and my life was it rough. The information channel was showing the sea conditions at Very Rough and the wind at Violent Storm and boy were we moving not just from side to side but the whole ship was bouncing up and down. This lasted well into the night and from what I hear not many people turned up for dinner and they had a lot of very sick guest (I'm told they had sick bags dotted around in guest areas!!!).
Well we arrived in Cozumel at about 7am on Monday morning to much calmer seas. It was still rough enough though that they had to cancel all the shore excursions involving Snorkling. We were due to leave Cozumel at around 5pm to head to Grand Cayman, but then at about 4pm the captain came over the PA system to say that we would not be able to go to Grand Cayman as the seas were still to rough to tender but that the Cozumel port authority had found us a place to dock for the day 115 nautical miles down the coast at Costa Maya (around 80 miles Belize), the captain also explained that we would now stay in Cozumel until 11pm and then arrive in Costa Maya at around 7am.

Anyway to cut a long story shore (as I have to get to work sorry!) We went to Costa maya then spent a day at sea before coming here to Key West today.

I'm sorry to cut this e-mail sort but I sort of lost track of time!!!

Well I'll e-mail you again as soon as I can and please say hi to everyone on the boards for me.

Take Care,
Darren

Sandy: I thought the same as Denine...Paronoid Schizophrenia although as a nurse can not diagnose...(can't spell either) . Anyway...it often manifests itself in college age people...they have had it under control until they hit their early 20's. Rather prevelent actually from what I have seen.

Thank heavens we heard from you mom! It is about time!!!! My you are busy. I was supposed to go scrapbook tonight but too tired to lug the case and all the supplies to my friends house then back home again...If It was a Friday or Saturday I would have made it. Shame...I got everything ready this morning. Oh well...I can work on it here.

I never got asked to the prom. The only gowns I got to wear were to weddings in the 70's when everyone wore long dresses to them and then on the cruise. I was a bit of a wallflower I'm afraid.

Poor Darren! Sounds like he has had it rough on this cruise between being quarenteend and then the rough seas! Of course he didn't answer any of my questions! LOL! I am beginning to think that the Eastern cruise is the better bet...I think they have too many problems on the Western.

OK Laurie!!! Are you waiting for that handsome mountie to come to your house? Shall I send him there before he heads to Canada for Diana?

He may have a hard time finding Diana up there! I'll still pay him however he wants! LOL! I'm bad today!!!!

Glad to hear from Darren but sorry he's been sick. I'm glad I wasn't on that bouncing ship!

Gonna keep this short. I want to get a walk in since it is still so nice out.

Later!

Hi Guys!
Just another couple of days around here.
Sandy, I wonder if Bryan's counselor has a supervisor? Has she lead him away from this problem, or add to it? Maybe a tiny bit of attention to her handling of this case could ensure that it's been handled OK.
Krista, shoot! I hope the ovary situation turns out OK. That's one I know nothing about. Prayers your way. Let us know how things so.

Bonnie, I'm glad that Darren answered your email. I emailed him awhile ago and got nothing! He must like you best! LOL

Sandy, I agree with the nurses of the bunch. I think they might be right. Also, Lori might have hit it on the head about his counselor! Wasn't she the one with the daughter in Texas and isn't that where he wanted to go to further his education? Seems a little "funny" that everything started to happen when she got involved. Might be something to look into.

I am listening to Spaceship Earth right now as I am typing this. Garry had downloaded several music clips from Disney and we play them often. Wishing we were there. Now it is Splash Mountain.

I will try to be on for the wine tasting. Garry has to work that night and is usually sleeping around 8pm and the computers are in the bedroom. Maybe I can seek in and if I am real quiet.......
I won't have any wine though, just what my grandmother called a "Lake Erie Highball" ........ good old fashion water! LOL.

Hope Darren has a better cruise this week coming up. It is great to hear from him. Do we know where he is working? IS he assigned to a server yet? Still in training?

Chat with you all later!

Julie: Of course Darren likes me best!!!! What's not to like right? LOL!
Re scrapbooking...it's a good thing I decided not to do it...I had the wrong week...DUH! Losing it I think.

Nothing else new here. Out to lunch with my boss today...another freebie...will never lose anymore weight this way.

Krista keep us up to date!

Refrigerator comes tomorrow.

Good Morning and T G I F

One more day in the low 80s expected today before the rain sets in.

Bonnie - seems to be "free lunch" for you lately. Enjoy! Did you get that daytimer and forget to look at it? Yesterday was the 3rd and next Thursday is the 10th. I can't live without my daytimer. But then again, I am in meetings about 75% of my job and I also have to keep track opf Turner's schedule (he's so busy, you know) and I try to keep up with important things like Saturday's wine tasting (LOL). If it doesn't make it into the daytimer, it doesn't seem to happen.

I don't think I told you guys that I am getting braces on my lower teeth again. Lots of crowding because of the wisdom teeth. Since I had them out last year and insurance will cover 50% of the cost of braces, I decided to go ahead. I get them next Thursday. They only have to put them on 6 teeth and I should only have to wear them 8-10 months. I had braces in the late 70s and wore them for 2 years. This doesn't sound bad this time.

Gotta go get ready for work. Have a great day!

Later!

Glad to hear from Darren! At least he is feeling better and I am sure will be happy to be back on smooth seas. I also e-mailed him and hadn't heard anything.

The 10 day forecast for here sucks!!!!!! We top out in the low 50's and it will be raining most of the time!!!! It is only 38 and raining now. I hate it here. I want to move where there is decent weather most of the time! I am still stuck in the house. I am going to lose my mind or pull all my hair out (if Kaleigh doesn't get to it first), or both!!!!!!!!!!!!

"There must be more than this provincial life!"

Bonnie: Tough on the diet, but it must be nice to be taken for all those lunches. Even when jerry gets invited to lunch, implying the company will pay, the check comes and everyone is told to anty up. He doesn't go anymore. We get a free lunch at work during nurses week. We get to eat what the residents get for lunch. Last year it was unidentifiable!

Sue: I never had braces. Maybe if I did, my TMJ wouldn't be so bad. I don't know. Hope they won't be too bad. Jerry has told me stories about his.

Hello everyone. Had a nice day. A very windy day, but got some things done and Heidi and I went shopping.

I might not make it for wine tasting after all. I was stupid and forgot it and I accepted a dinner invitation to Stacey's house. Gosh, when the kids invite you over, you take advantage!!

Braces for Susan. 8-10 months certainly isn't all that bad!

I have decided that if Bryan's parents contact us, I will spill the beans and tell them everything. I guess I will hold it to myself for awhile longer otherwise until more things surface.

Very happy to hear from Darren. Had heard what a horrible week they were having.

I read on the board that some people can see the avatars when others can't. Strange!

Ted's home early. Gotta go!

Wow! Denine, Sandy, Sue...that is it for today!!!! Shame on all!

Had a nice 2 hour lunch...of course I was a cheap date...they had goodies in work since one of MY nurses is leaving and today is her last day so I nibbled...aw heck...I pigged out...all morning so by lunch I wasn't hungry. It worked out well though because it was a fancy seafood restaurant and seafood is not one of my favorites. Glenn suggested Cod but of course they didn't have it.
The decor was wonderful...not exactly my cup of tea though...a little too yuppie for me I guess. I do have a terrific manager though. I got my first paycheck....looks pretty good actually!

OK! Here is the Mountie again...out in search of Laurie, Patty and THe long lost Diana...princess of Canada!

dudley_1.jpg

I cannot see my own avitar either...I changed the picture in hopes that it would show up....How does it look? Or is it too small to tell?

Sometimes I see the avatars and other times I don't. Some time I see some of them but not others. Bonnie, I can see your new one. Looks like a supervisor!LOL

Turner had 3 hockey games tonight and they won one of them. His team played better than they have all season. I came home afterward but Paul and Turner stayed for open skate. Turner is going to help another kid improve his skating.

Went to the allergist today and he gave me a medral (sp?) dosepak and changed my nasal spray. He also wants me to start using the tessalon pearls for the cough again. He is trying to prevent this mess from becoming a sinus infection or bronchitis again. The tree pollen is bad every spring and I am super sensative to it. I hope I don't gain because of the medral!!

Sandy, I hope things with Bryan get better. Tell Heid we are still thinking of her. Enjoy your dinner at Stacey's. You will be missed but your children always need to come first (especially when they invite you over)!

Bonnie, the supervisor paycheck!!! Hooray! Hope Mountie Man finds our other friends!

I'm here! We had a busy day today. Makenzie's pre-school went bowling this morning. It was a lot of fun! She had a blast! She was high score for her game with a 74. Not bad for a 3yr old. She even got a spare! So after that, we picked the Big Guy up from my dad's (he didn't go, I thought that would be too much to handle and since my dad has been home since he went into the hospital in January, he could use the company) and the ran all over town paying bills, picking up forms, etc... Tomorrow is swimming! So as you can tell, it has been a busy day.

Susan, I had braces on my bottom teeth when I was a freshman in college do to spacing issues after 2 teeth were pulled. Had them on for about 8-10 months too. They really aren't bad at all. And since they are on the bottom, you can't see them.

Hang in there Denine! I know the weather looks yucky for the next week, but it will get better. Maybe we can meet for lunch one day just so you can get out of the house! And just think, we will be going to a baseball game this summer together (yes I have decided that LOL) and I promise it will be hotter then hot for you OK? Just think happy thoughts!

Well, gonna fly! Chat with you all soon! Take Care!

Hello, hello, hello! Going to be a snowy day. Not much accumulation here. Something like 2-4". More in the mtns. That's great because Heidi and Ted are going skiing next week. Sure wish my feet would allow me to go!

Isn't this refrig day for Bonnie? Wow, cold drinks coming soon. I LOVE your avatar! I can see that one! Guess I will have to start puttering around and see what I can do. (which is nothing on the computer)

Stacey is here so will go. Have a good day and maybe will check in later.

Refrigerator Day but not yet!!! I had a doctors appointment this morning so I called and asked that it be delivered after 12 noon. SHould have cancelled the MD appointment since unbeknownst to me it was the one I don't like...what a waste of time...doesn't read the chart, doesn;t listen...Total waste...see his partner in 2 weeks...will he get an earfull!!!

Nothing else new here.
I still can't see my avitar...looks good huh?

Bonnie: Happy Refrigerator Day!! I hate doctors that don't pay attention! Yes, I agree with Sue, you look like a supervisor in your picture. I love seafood!!!! I was just craving it and everything else yesterday. We ended up ordering a pizza and had it delivered it was so horrible outside. I can probabpy count on one hand the number of times we have had one delivered. Jerry said I need to go on a cruise!

Sue: I hope the medrol dose pack helps. It should. I have really horrible allergies to ragweed in the fall. I have gotten cortisone shots a couple of times. They are the only thing that helps, and yes, I ususally end up sick.

Yesterday was the most depressing day outside. It was so dark most of the day, it looked liked evening. It rained all day and then stormed all evening and night. It is only in the 30's right now. It was warmer when I went to work at 6 AM.

Sandy: Enjoy your evening. Your cruise avatar looks fine to me!

Julie: Makenzie could probably beat me in bowling! Can I use the bumpers too? If we can't make it to one baseball game; Indians, Aero's or Captains, we are in sad shape!

Hoping to get out of the house later. Kaleigh is napping right now.

Boy am I glad I went with the black...it looks beautiful!! Now all I need is food. LOL!

Are we still on for 8PM tonight? Who will be here? Someone will have to look for me and get me in the chat room since I can only get in using Trillion.

So far I only count Sue, Me and Julie...Lori, Laurie will you be there? How about Barb...I forget if you said you would be around. Maybe we can stay on until Sandy gets here.

Have a good day all!

SANDY: Have a great day with Stacey.

BONNIE: Congratulations on your new refrig. Remember you can alway paint your other appliances black. I painted my range white! I am so happy it is a girl baby! Any names?

It's a good thing I worked a "critical shift" because the Vet bill was $301.00. I went into a state of shock! Dodger is healthy but the Vet said he is thin but the dog is a VERY finicky eater and super active. He always has dry food in a feeder but doesn't touch it.

It was really great hearing from Darren and it looks like he does like Bonnie best! It sounds like it was the cruise from hell. You know how those disgruntled cruise passengers can be! Poor Darren!:(

The Mountie brought out quite a few people. Yeah Mountie!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Went shopping for things for the Easter Basket this AM but as my children get older it is harder & harder to find things for the basket & it gets more expensive. The weather is miserable in NJ.
Hope you all have a terrific weekend! Let there be Peace on Earth..... Toodles:wave: :earsgirl: JEANNE
