And why are you so sure that he never offered to help this aunt, or his half-brother who isn't really as bad off as he is said to be? If they are proud people and refused, is that Obama's fault? Is he supposed to forcibly remove them from their current homes and plop them down in a better house against their will?

But, Barack Obama has said he was unaware of his aunt's status. We don't know their relationship.

What was he supposed to do about her status if he was unaware? Why is he responsible for her simply because they are related?

He was unaware that Tony Rezko was a crook. He was unaware that Khalidi worked for the PLO. He was unaware that Ayers still harbored his radical leanings, despite writing a book in 1974 which he dedicated to Sirhan Sirhan. Now he wants us to believe that he was "unaware" of his aunt's immigration status. Either he is lying....again or he is too "unaware" to be president.

He didn't know her status as a citizen.

What are your implications? That he is getting her a pass? He's not President yet.

And just what would the right thing be? Insist that she be deported? Why? There are thousands of other illegals in this country that our government is doing nothing about. Why should Obama's aunt be forced to leave and others allowed to stay?

Number one...A judge ordered her out. That alone should be enough. I'm not for illegals staying. They all should go. If they aren't going to become "legal," go.

Well, firstly, he publically said he didn't know she was here or even here illegally. So that alone, tells me, that he hasn't offered to help. Why would he have offered to help a situation he claims he knew nothing about? But he does now.

How would you know if 4 years ago someone told your father's half-sister to leave the country? Do you personally know if they spoke regularly? Heck, I didn't even know for several months that my aunt had passed away. Even then I found out by accident through a newsletter in an organization that we both belonged to. My cousin hasn't spoken to me in over 20 years.

But he knows now. I might call the aunt on the phone and have a little chat.

In New York, every ad on TV that Obama has is bashing McCain. Give me some good info on what your goals and plans are in the ad you paid millions for and I may second think my vote against you. I want my country to be in a good place again and if a democrat does it, so be it. But if you say nothing but negative things about your opponant and nothing else, than you are out in my book.

Im not speculating on any relationship. Just going by what he talks about. Here is an aunt who he took the time to write fondly about in a book. Someone he went to another continent to see not just once, but a second time with his wife. A family member that cared enough to attend his swearing in and contribute from the little cash she has, to his campaign. So yes, with the speeches he makes about selfishness and helping each, I WOULD expect him to do something himself. She is obviously not someone he's never met, never had anything to do with and doesn't know from Adam. He mentions he knew nothing about it, which COULD be implied that if he did know, he would have done something.

Otherwise, he is basically asking other people to take care of her when he can perfectly "afford it". Setting a good example to his fellow citizen's would be lovely .

You've been snowed. The Obama campaign never said that. Rather, they made the accusation in an ad (this was after McCain started with the negative campaigning and the Obama campaign therefore began responding in-kind) that McCain is out-of-touch (which in many aspects is true) -- specifically computer-illiterate. It was not about his war injuries; it didn't mention them at all. Bad ad, yup, I think so, because it is almost inaccurate, since he is learning how to use the Internet. However, it is not as anything like what you made it sound like.

Why do I bother telling my son that we don't make fun of people for physical disabilities that they can't help? BO certainly isn't teaching him that.

At best, it's trivial and insignificant. I'm sure he would have plenty of help in the forms of family, employees, even computer programs to type whatever he dictates.

You can't judge this situation. You don't know the ins and outs of their relationship, or the true issues this woman may or may not face.

I will only say that as long as MY tax dollars are being used , I feel I have the right to judge on its uses. And as long as as someone is running for POTUS and wants to have his fellow citizens align with him, Id like to see him walk the walk.

I will just have to agree to disagree. If anything , by this point, we all are pretty dug in to our opinions and nothing like this or any continued disagreement is going to change things

So, which is it? Did he know she was here or not? This post makes it sound like you believe him when he said he didn't know. But if so, why would you say he should "alleviate the tax burden of his fellow Americans by helping her out himself"?

As for me, I included his half-brother in my comments, meaning that he could have spoken to them while they were in Kenya to offer help as well. He didn't necessarily have to know she was here and do it in the past 4 years to have ever done it.

I just want to say I hope all McCain voter's get out and vote. I have my whole family heading off to the polls. I'm praying he can win this election. I don't want this country to get any worse than it is. I'm worried about the economy as well as our security. The guy is just scary. I took my blinders off along time ago!
