Ah, our musical playlists. We play them to pass the time between leaving our everyday world and into the worlds of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy. How do you do it?
I am currently working on several playlists for my upcoming Disneyland trip. A Star Wars inspired one. A Disneyland inspired one. And a general music one. The Disneyland inspired on will have very little if any actual Disney music on it because my travel partner would just skip them anyway. These will all be listed to via my phone - either Bluetooth or wired. We will have to see what works.

On the other hand… you know you’re getting closer to Disneyland when you start hearing 102.7 KIIS-FM clearly in your car (no, the iHeart app doesn’t count-I mean on REGULAR FM)…

LOL. They were all news in my "only AM radio in the car" days. KFRC at 610 for the first half of the trip, KFI at 640 for the last half.
These days it is 6 hours of Seventies on Seven on SirusXM.

In a reverse Uno route… I would definitely be playing Wild 94.9, then KHOP 95.1 in Stockton, Hot 104.7 in Merced, B95 in Fresno, Live 95.3 in Bakersfield, KIIS FM’s 105.5 signal in Lancaster, then 102.7…

No KWIN 97.7 Stockton? I am not familiar with KHOP, seems from what I can find that it didn't go on the air as KHOP until 1996. I worked at KWIN 1977-78, and KUOP 1975-76. In those days the most listened to radio station in Stockton was KFRC. I think KJOY was the highest rated Stockton radio station, the top five or so rated radio stations in Stockton were San Francisco and Sacramento stations.

Apple car play. Playing Apple Music playlists. We have one we love of songs DCL plays on deck 13 on the Fantasy and one of the random beach music DCL plays around the ship.
I used to adore playing the Classic Disney CD's volume 1, 2 & 3 all through my kids growing up but CD's stopped being a thing and I didn't take them with me when I moved. I remember trying to give a listen to some streaming stations for the same vibe before our last trip but there were just too many B sides in the mix I wasn't into so I just sort of shrugged it off. Another casualty of the times I guess, shame though.
I’ve always driven to WDW. Making a playlist is one of my absolute favorite things about getting ready for my trip. I usually start planning it about two weeks prior to my departure. I drive down solo from Phila. and for the past 7 or 8 years I’ve done it in one day, leaving at 1:30-2:00am and arriving around 5:00-6:00 in the evening. I make up a playlist of right around 16 hours in hopes that it will finish as close to my hotel arrival as possible. I’ve come extremely close on several occasions. One year the last song literally ended as I was going through the gate at Boardwalk. I usually do a mix of podcasts (some Disney) and music. A lot of times I’ll buy something on the months prior and not listen to it until my drive to WDW. The first time I did this back in 2013 I was browsing my music collection for something to add, and I realized I had a 4+ hour Woodstock boxed-set I bought as a teen that I’d never listened to. That has become a standard for my drive down. For no reason other than that it’s become tradition. The drive home is much different as my kids are usually driving home with me, so I don’t want to bore them with podcasts and Grateful Dead.
Well, we used to use a combination of SiriusSM and my iPod, but now we use an old iPhone (bluetooth). We had SiriusXM on our last truck, but the new one doesn't get it.
